This is a review regarding the process to apply for an Enhanced DBS through Care Professional Organisation (formerly NACAS). From November, the company they use for ID verification checks will only process applications for Enhanced DBS if you hold an e-passport.
It can't process manual ID verification checks, ironically like the government will if applying for a basic DBS. So driving licences are not sufficient ID through this organisation.
The irony is that the care sector is poorly paid, with often unstable hours, especially for self employed PAs. The thought of possessing a passport to have a holiday abroad is just a pipe dream for many!

I had a conversation with Sabina and it was excellent, our wavelength was mutual and Sabina proceeded to advise me on a more subtle and less confronting approach to my problems at work and she signposted a sister team of NCAS, that could possibly influence a higher standard of practice in my workplace, Sabina encouraged me to write bullet points regarding the reasons my problems arised in the 1st place and bring them to my management team, in order to discuss a resolve of any further problems occuring...
All together an excellent telephone conversation was had... Perfect.

Great organisation. I have been with NACAS only for a year now but during this time I have only experienced positive actions from the communication to the support. I feel this organisation try their best to achieve what all of us deserve. I appreciate your hard work and support. Thank you in behalf of every care and support worker.

NACAS is a great organisation with dedicated people, whose mission is to support Care and Support Workers.

NACAS works towards raising standards and having care-work professionally recognised.
As members we receive relevant information, training opportunities, links to benefits and lately PPE.

Fantastic supportive organisation. It's just what we need to help us become a recognised professional work force.

NACAS is a fantastic union. They literary represents health care workers across this
nation. They dont just sit there and watch the difficulties healthcare workers face, they act, and speak it as well. NACAS is simply the underpaid, sideline, neglected care worker. How I wish all the other big unions are like them.THEY CARE! THEY ARE THE BEST! THANKYOU!
