Holloway Removals & Storage Reviews 

I posted this on Holloway's Google Review page in May 2026.

I was grossly overcharged and misled for a simple 2 bedroom unit move around the corner - everything was packed and ready to go. I complained to Holloway on the day of the service as I had paid for 3 men to move my belongings. The total time was 7 hours. This was completely excessive. I spoke with Emmanuel from customer service and he agreed this time was excessive. I was sent a series of confusing invoices for various amounts at different times leading up to and after the move. Stressed and worried about the overall price, I requested for all invoices for everything to be sent to me at once. This was ignored and two of the movers demanded a further payment of $1800 at the end of the move in my new unit. I said I was only willing to pay $1000 excess -this was declined by Emanuel. Two men stayed in my new unit and would not leave until $1200 was paid on the spot - I was told to have my phone on speaker. I paid this under duress. That night I could not find any of my bedding anywhere and slept in the cold without a pillow or blanket. I visited my old place the next day and all my bedding was left in a heap, disgarded and other small items still left in the home. I specifically asked a mover in person to make sure they locked the door on the way out. The door was unlocked when I arrived the next day. I submitted a formal complaint and requested an apology and full refund. I felt completely taken advantage of and mislead as I am a young single woman (moving four pets to the next place) on my own. I have tried to negotiate with Holloway and they have now issued me another invoice and dismissed my legitimate concerns. I have lodged a formal complaint with NSW Fair Trading today. Ladies, do NOT book this service.

Update 26/5/26: I have continued to be harassed to pay more money several weeks after the move. I was told via phone I did not have to pay this last invoice due to my concerns/complaint. Now I have to. This is extortion (see photo). This has been updated with Fair Trading.

Update: 1/06/2026: I have continued to receive emails demanding further payment with threats that if I do not pay, they will deduct $100 a week from my credit card. Still waiting to hear back from Fair Trading.

Update: 2/06/2026: Further intimidation and extortion regarding an addition $100 a week charge for non payment for a previously withdrawn fee.

Update: 30/7/26: Holloway refused to follow NSW Fair Trading’s advice and communicate with me regarding their obligations under consumer law. Fair Trading informed me Hollow refused to work with me or understand my position.

I have taken the matter to NCAT and the hearing is Tuesday next week.

Update: NCAT Tuesday 4/8/2026. Holloway refused to accept my revised offer during conciliation today. The representative said he has heard a voice recording of me on the phone and tried to play semantics. He kept bombarding me with accusations and saying it is normal for a 2 bedroom unit move around the corner with 3 men to take 7 hours. He kept throwing financial jargon at me. I ended up crying in the conciliation. The dispute is now going to Hearing in coming months. Terrible organisation who refuse to even meet half way.

The service leading up to the day of moving was exceptionally great the two guys that then came to load my contents into the container to be stored at Cheltenham were great did the loading in a timely manner

Fairly priced, upfront with all charges.
Move in/out crew members were punctual and professional, while being friendly and easy to deal with.
Storage options were also very handy and took another headache of the list of the moving stresses. Definitely recommended if your looking for movers.

They were courteous, punctual , professional, pleasant and accommodating.
It was a difficult move as the logistics included a long walk from loading dock to my apartment on both ends which ultimately impacted on the final cost, understandably.

They were completely straightforward and sincere. The three men who came to move our furniture: Marcus, Gabriel and Everton couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Really great people to have move your possessions.

I rarely write reviews, but the two guys who were sent by Holloways to do the job absolutely deserve one.

From the moment they arrived until the last box was in place, they demonstrated a level of professionalism that is becoming increasingly rare. They worked with clockwork precision from start to finish—every movement was coordinated, every task was planned, and not a single minute was wasted. Their teamwork was exceptional, making what is usually a stressful experience feel effortless.

In spite of language barrier (They were Brazilians speaking Portuguese) , they brought an incredible work ethic, positive attitude, and attention to detail that really stood out. In all honesty, I haven't come across this level of professionalism in Australia for quite some time. They treated my belongings with great care and respect, and their efficiency never compromised the quality of their work.

If you're looking for movers who are punctual, hardworking, respectful, and exceptionally skilled, look no further. I would recommend them without hesitation and would happily hire them again. Thank you both for an outstanding job!

I now have photographic evidence that my 8.6 cu.mt can fit into 10 cu.mt. but was spread over 2 containers to rip people off.

My experience was based on a home removal of boxes and chosen furniture for a future home in several months time. The two young men were excellent in manner and professional in execution of the job.
