The returns process was horrendous. I had to visit the store 3 times to obtain a refund. On the 3rd occasion the store advertised that they opened at 9am but didn’t open actually open until 10:23 that day. Really poor experience in total 3 journeys to store and 5 hours of time!! What a waste of life!!

I went into the shop in Meadowhall to buy some shoes. While my size was not available in store (I'm a 13/14) a very knowledgeable salesman spent time with me advising on what would be ideal and I was able to order them online. They arrived, they fit and I'm very happy with them.

I bought two pairs of Merrell trainers from Blacks Meadowhall store on 4/8/26. The assistant who helped me was Alex. He was attentive, patient and professional. He was friendly and welcoming and did not rush me. He is very knowledgeable about Merrell shoes. It's difficult for me to get shoes to fit me, having one foot bigger than the other, but Alex made it a very pleasant experience for me. Thank you!

Recently purchased a pair of walking trainers from Blacks in Meadowhall. Peter was very friendly and helpful. He gave very good advice in helping me choose my shoes.
I would also like to mention Olivia who served my wife on another occasion. She was extremely patient and helpful to my wife when she tried on trainers. We did not buy on that occasion, but the excellent customer experience means we will return to the store.

How refreshing to walk into a shop to buy walking shoes and to find staff who are there, so helpful, and also extremely knowledgeable! Alex couldn’t have been better, recommending which brand would probably suit my foot type better (and why) and even which particular shoe. A really friendly and super helpful person. Couldn’t recommend highly enough.

I was well looked after by Peter in the meadowhall store., I bought several items including t-shirts, backpack, shorts and 2pairs walking trousers.
Peter was very knowledgeable and offered good advice., It was refreshing to get expert tips and suggestions in this day and age.

Two really positive experiences at Blacks while shopping for birthday gifts as well as an outdoors trip to Scotland. The staff particularly, Ellie were so helpful & knowledgeable. The range of equipment & clothing met our needs. Very happy to recommend this shop if needing outdoors clothing or equipment.

I bought some walking shoes online that were, unfortunately, too small. I visited the Meadowhall store who were more than happy to help. I received a full refund and bought a replacement pair in store. I would like to personally thank Josh for his time and patience while I tried numerous pairs in numerous sizes, he was only too happy to ensure I left with the pair that was right for me.

We where helped by a lovely gentleman called Alex on picking some day bags for our next walk. Very knowledgeable and a great laugh. Also Peter on the till was very kind and gave me an opportunity to promote my fundraising walk up Mount Kilimanjaro with Meningitis Research Foundation.
