We found out about Focused Mentoring and Praveen's mock test when our son was in Year 5. We didn't go to Focused Mentoring for 11 plus tutoring as we already had a tutor for our son, but we signed up for the various topic wise mock test and later the full mock tests. The mock tests are very flexible and reasonably priced. The tests are slightly harder than the ones you will find in the GL and Bond books, and while my son found these challenging in the beginning, he was also encouraged by the improvement he was making. Praveen is very approachable - whenever we had any doubts or feedback for his website, he was responsive and helpful.

In areas like Orpington and Kent where we have multiple super selective schools, 11 plus tutoring has turned into a business. In the midst of multiple tutors, Praveen comes across as someone who is genuinely invested in helping everyone who approaches him. He really cares about his students. He even organised zoom calls at the beginning of years 4 and 5 to give free advice on the 11 plus process. Later, he organised more zoom calls to answers questions regarding the admissions process and help clear any doubts that parents had. The zoom calls were free and you didn't have to be Praveen's student to listen in - this shows that he really wants to help and doesn't approach tutoring just as a business venture.

Praveen proved to be an exceptional tutor for my son. When my son expressed his desire to gain admission to a specific grammar school, I decided to enroll him in a program that provided focused guidance. At the time, my son was in year 5 and joined a group that had been together since year 4. Praveen warmly welcomed him and provided the additional support necessary for him to integrate seamlessly. I must confess that my son wasn't initially enthusiastic about Praveen, but I had unwavering trust in Praveen throughout the journey, and it certainly paid off. My son ultimately achieved a score of over 410 for kent, enabling him to choose the desired grammar school. Navigating the path to the 11-plus exam can be quite stressful, which is why Praveen is truly one of a kind. His composed and reassuring approach was incredibly valuable to us.

Very approachable and responsive when need to discuss any particular needs, not just generic response- it’s really rare nowadays. I could actually pick up the phone and resolve any questions. Praveen is generous with his time and advice on school choices, as it is a whole separate difficult issue on its own with various scores and distances. It’s also amazing to have options of face to face or online lessons - gives parents and children much needed flexibility ! Wish I knew about Praveen two years ago!

Praveen is superb, he engages very well with kids and keeps them motivated for studies. It is possible to attend his classes either in person or online, though we preferred in person classes to ensure proper engagement and focus on studies. His mock exam papers are good, value for money and quite useful to train kids for actual exam conditions. My son has done very well in all the 11+ exams, and for this we greatly appreciate Praveen’s coaching and guidance.

Four years ago I had a recommendation to enroll my elder daughter to Praveen's classes. My daughter progressed fast in filling the gaps of her knowledge therefore I relied on Praveen for my second daughter as well. Praveen is a teacher who has put his heart and soul to pass on as much knowledge as each child could possibly absorb. My daughters felt welcomed, happy and encouraged each time they needed support. My daughters found some of the mock tests hard, though as a parent I trusted Praveen's style of teaching. My daughters grew in confidence and their approach towards learning anything that seemed daunting. Very good decision to join Focused Mentoring. My son only prepared for few months in this friendly set up and got into Grammar school in Kent. Near the end his performance was even eye opener to us as well. The confidence led him to top of his class and head pupil in the school. Praveen actively encouraged students and organised extra lessons and mocks during this phase.

Very friendly, and my daughter really loved all his sessions, and I had seen her confidence growing day by day after attending his classes. I'm really thankful for all his effort and she made it to Newstead Wood now !

My son did year 5, virtual, group tutoring with a different person and then I discovered Praveen when a friend shared his revision course and it was the best decision I made! Compared to others Praveen's class size was small, Praveen focused on concepts rather than rushing through 'stuff', Praveen's classes encouraged two way communication rather than all kids being muted and forced to keep up else they got left behind, Praveen was approachable and had a fantastic handle on the class inspite of it being part virtual part in-person. My son said he learnt a lot more in the one month crash course than he did in the Yr 5 tutoring with another tutor!

This tuition is so useful and helpful for my child. The tutor explains the topics in detail and in depth aiding my child’s development in knowledge.

My son attended 11plus mentors summer crash course before the 11plus exams . Really useful and highly recommend these sessions as they were extensive and covered all topics , vocabulary and tips .

Only feedback would be that they were very long and sometimes kids found themselves being restless and losing focus . So would recommend doing shorter sessions .

Pravin is a great tutor who engages students in the class amazingly well. Kids are not shy to ask any questions and are always raising hands to answer questions asked in the class. This was my first impression that got stuck to me. I saw this during covid times when pravin use to run the classes online. Everything was transparent. He ofcourse runs classes both online and in person now. He updates about the child's progress in a regular manner to each parent. His mock exam pattern first topic wise and later on complete paper helps kids settle well into the mindset of giving exams. His mentoring helped my daughter to clear all the exams comfortably. Couldn't have asked for more.

We have taken Praveen's topic wise mock as well as full mock test . Difficulty level of mock tests are balanced . Its not too tough so that a child will get demotivated, at the same time it's not easy but challenging. The online platform is great and parents can see incorrect questions as well as correct questions. Praveen is always prompt in publishing the mock results and keeps up to mock timelines as promised unlike other mock providers. Price for mock test is also very reasonable.

Praveen is very committed to getting the best out of the children. My son enjoyed taking the mock tests. Results were sent promptly and there was prompt communication and flexibility in arranging the scans.

Content and format is designed in very structured way to get children feel if real exam situation. Very helpful for children during their last few months before exams to get a great preview of exam like questions. Also, budget friendly :)
