Very bad i purchased hosting but they added temporary domain and doesn’t have an option to change domain on hosting . And sport team is not good to check email or else

Honestly, nothing to complain about so far. The connection is lightning fast, and the VPS is snappy. I haven't encountered any issues with installation or maintenance provided you properly harden the system and follow security best practices when ordering a server. We'll see how it holds up over time, but for now, it's a 10/10 for me.

I want to warn everyone considering using the hosting provider "1984". My experience is not an unfortunate misunderstanding, but a deliberate money-scamming scheme. Judging by numerous reviews online, this is their standard business model.

Chronology of a Blatant Scam:

1. Payment and Activation. I ordered a VPS server. Payment was made in Bitcoin, which initially seemed like a sign of anonymity and customer-friendliness. The server was activated.
2. Immediate Block Without Cause. On the very same day, just a few hours after payment and uploading test data (the server wasn't even publicly accessible, no services were running on it!), access was blocked. Support sent a template email about a "complaint regarding rights violation." The absurdity was staggering—how can there be a complaint about a service that hasn't even launched?
3. Complete Ignoring and Violation of Their Own Rules. In response to my legitimate question about which specific term of service was violated, they provided NO information. Silence. However, upon reviewing their own policy, I found that they offer a 7-day money-back guarantee upon request to a specific email.
4. Cynicism and Ignoring. We sent a refund request through all their specified channels. There was no response. When we contacted support again, citing their own rules, the only reply was an empty "we are sorry." After that — complete radio silence again. The money paid in Bitcoin was simply stolen.

Analysis and Conclusions:

· This is Not a Mistake, It's a Scheme. Too many coincidences: instant blocking after payment, a template reply about a "complaint," complete disregard for clarification and refund requests.
· Bitcoin is a Tool for Irreversible Payments. They specifically accept cryptocurrency to complicate or make chargebacks impossible.
· Bogus "Violations" are a Pretext for Confiscation. They likely use automated or fabricated pretexts to block newly paid servers, especially from those paying with crypto, betting on the customer's lesser protection.
· Support is Part of the Fraud Chain. Their role is to create an illusion of assistance, respond with template phrases, and stall until you give up.
· You Are Not Alone. A quick internet search for "1984 hosting scam", "1984 fraud", "1984 stole money" reveals dozens of identical stories. The same script: payment -> quick suspension -> denied refunds.

I strongly advise against using this "provider." This is not a hosting company, but a fraudulent operation built on stealing client funds under the guise of "violations." They are not interested in providing services; their goal is to collect upfront payments and then confiscate them under false pretenses, relying on your helplessness.

Keep receipts, take screenshots of correspondence. Spread the word. Let as many people as possible know about the practices of "1984". They cannot be trusted with a single cent.

Old users, ALARM! When you wish to renew a yearly subscription, their BTC quote has a decimal point less than in a fee a year earlier, which if put in USD would mean a change from 40 to 400 USD.

I ordered a VPS at 1984.host to use as a personal WireGuard VPN.
After nearly 24 hours of troubleshooting (with all settings correct: NAT, iptables, ip_forward, MTU),
the VPN still did not work properly — only the simplest sites like ifconfig.me loaded, all normal websites (YouTube, e-mail, marketplaces, news portals) failed to load.

I contacted support with a detailed technical description and refund request.
No answer at all for more than 48 hours.

It’s unacceptable for a paid hosting provider to ignore urgent tickets and not refund money for a clearly non-functional service.

Stay away from this company if you value your time and money!

Update: Issue resolved, refund received

After a technical issue with my VPS and initial lack of response, the company issued a full refund in XMR as soon as support was back on working days.

They don’t work on weekends, but as soon as I followed up, the refund was processed quickly and without any further complications.

They acted honestly and professionally — thank you for resolving the issue!

This nominally commercial entity botched the registration process to block me from accessing my domains.

It's a state affiliated business.
Iceland built a reputation for protecting free speech, see 'immi' from 2010, but now u do not see visible dissenting opinions broadcasting from Iceland. For good reason. It's not because they don't know how to.

They allow their websites to publicly dox people; they allow doxing on their websites.

I have been using this hosting for several years and am generally happy. It is great that there is a dns_ptr setting. The only downside is that there is no support for ip v6

After months complaining about it, still no progress on fixing the web statistics. I have no idea where visitors are coming from. Also setup wasn't that intuitive either.

The prices are alright but the general user experience is mediocre at the time of writing.
The web dashboard is very slow.

They don't seems predatory and I had a very easy time deleting my account, they offer full deletion according to the GDPR in their setting and it worked like a charm.

If this review is older than a few months and their prices are still good I would probably recommend trying it for yourself.

Ordered vps and after a week of use they banned it by a freaking reason - someone somehow supposedly tried to 'breach VOIP' and 'brute SSH' of a some other server. Support is replying only few words per day and I'm just slowly losing paid period. I gave full information and explained I have only Docker and GitLab CI/CD and nothing else. Still silence..

I saw 1984hosting.com get mentioned on privacytools.io and in other tech communities, so I gave them a try. I started by registering a new domain with them and was reassured by the privacy notice they provide stating "We do not sell privacy protection as all domains are by default protected by GDPR whois masking". However, once I purchased the domain, this is where things go wrong:

1) 1984's WHOIS protection does NOT include masking or redacting of the following fields:
- Organization
- State
- Country

This is absurd given that most other domain name providers I have used redacted ALL information. If you run a legitimate company, but wish to have privacy, 1984 hosting is NOT the right provider for the job. In some cases those 3 data points are enough information to expose your real identity.

At the very minimum I would ask of 1984 hosting to be very clear on what fields will be exposed and which ones will be redacted.

2) There is NO support. This was also mentioned by another reviewer here on Trustpilot and I should've heeded the warning.

3) The domain setup is unbelievably slow in comparison to other providers.

Lastly, 1984 hosting is expensive. Namecheap, porkbun, and epik are significantly cheaper and have provided me with a much better experience, customer service, and masked all WHOIS information. Given the steep price one would expect a superior service and an excellent experience, however I experienced none of this at 1984 hosting.

After this terrible experience, I registered a new domain with another provider who masked all of my information, the setup was instant, and the customer support replied within less than 10 minutes.

Ultimately, no, I definitely do not recommend 1984 hosting and I believe they should be delisted from privacytools.io before more people fall prey to this ripoff.

I ordered a VPS server from them, for a rather large sum. The server doesn't respond in SSH, so I can't access it.

Support is completely non-existent and doesn't answer any of my e-mails.

I'd advise against it.

We have used 1984's VPS server for about 4 years. The VPS has support for snapshots/backups, and general functionality you would expect for a VPS hosting service.

1984hosting is very good for being a privacy-focused service. You can pay with Monero, erase your whole account if wanted, no need to provide name, address or anything personal. The bandwidth is slow (~100mbps), and ping to Iceland may not always be the best but with the benefits mentioned above.

1984hosting seems like a trustworthy company in my eyes.
