99 Bikes - Modbury Reviews 103

Took the bike into 99 Bikes to replace a spoke and fit mudguards. Was then told "We can't work on that as it is illegal [for us to work on it]" and it was not made in Australia. 99 bikes can do as they please but

1: the bike was made in Australia - to Australian Stds.
2: Even if it was over 250 W it is not illegal in Australia only on highways.

The guy was so abrupt and rude in his tone, and the fact that after he delivered his sentence (whilst cancelling the booking) he turned his back on me in a basic "we are done here", on the plus side he told me a shop that would service it - although I am non-plussed as to why it would be illegal in his shop and not the other.

Anyhow, no point arguing with someone who has already made their mind up so left, and will not be buying any bikes or material from 99 bikes again, even if they are the cheapest.

99 bikes customer service is frankly disgusting....what do ya want old man...give me yer cash and fex off....no talking about bikes.... nothing....just hand over the reddies I'm disabled and ridden longer than they have lived...my local shop is Nailsworth......never going back.

Pushy and unprofessional salesperson (Nick) spent more time trying to get us to buy whatever they had in stock instead of actually listening to what my wife and I needed and then assisting. Collecting the bike we finally ended up purchasing online (because we could get better information from the website ourselves than by dealing with the staff in-store) was an ordeal, and one that could have been easily avoided if Nick had been good at his job instead of simply focussing on how much he could sell. I'll be going somewhere else for all my future bicycle related purchases and services.

Every part of the purchase, delivery service was exceptional!!! I have used before and will definately use again. Highly recommend 99 bikes.

I was looking at a new mountain bike. I test road it several times and measured everything on the bike and asked lots of questions before making the purchase. Axl was the salesperson and he was very helpful and no pressure to make a quick sale. Axl made sure the mtb was correct for me and was very patient.
The bike is awesome.

As always interaction with Gabriel 👍, when purchasing special Tannus Armour tyre inserts for my Specialized Sirrus. He insured particular interactions to ensure I received absolutely suitable requirements and as soon as possible because the achievement availability was then a bit complex.

Took ages on the online order when it said the bikes were both in stock, bad communication. Not good enough wont be back

The guys at Valley View were awesome. 1day before Xmas and they had 3 bikes put together and ready for pick up by lunchtime. They were so helpful to my husband when he went to pick them up. Helping him put them in the back of his Ute. It's the little things that go along way. Thanks so much for making our last minute Xmas presents so smooth and easy. You went above and beyond for us.

Modbury store just lost 2 bike services worth $579 & a new bike sale worth $2099.
On 16/10/22 phoned to book a service. Was told 'just bring it in'. Took bike in 17/10, told too busy 17th & 18th but would definitely be done by end of week. Given invoice with quote for service & repairs. Phoned late on 20/10 & was told it was ready and I could pick up before 8pm. Went in AM 21/10. Bike was brought down from upstairs and was told nothing had been done on the bike. Mechanic offered to speak to Manager and work out a reduction on cost if I brought it back. I advised that they could email me the decision. Have heard NOTHING back. Given my business to a store that CARES.

I took my mountain bike in for a full service as in the past I had been happy with the customer service. I was advised it would take four days to get the bike back. Then ten days later still waiting on parts. I was told it was taking longer because it was a Trek bike not a preferred brand supplier Merida. If only I knew earlier. I rang if I could pick the bike up on the weekend. 12th day waiting I told them if not all parts were in just get what is necessary to ride it so I can pick up the bike on the weekend. I went in the store to get it Saturday and no one knew what had been serviced. The bike was not clean and the bolt wasn't replaced. I asked if the mechanic could ring me back and hasn't to find out what was serviced or fixed. It would have been good if I was rang and advised about the parts order earlier.

Excellent customer service. I placed an online order, was contacted very quickly to let me know that part of the order was in, the complete order was ready before the anticipated date and I was contacted again via phone call and text message. When I collected the order the staff were extremely friendly, helpful and interested in my sporting pursuits. I have consistently experienced excellent service at this store.
