Not as good as their reviews
Not sure why they have so many great reviews. I have been trying to get an electric bike for nearly a monrh now. 99 bikes sucks you in by advertising bikes that are not available or simply don’t work. Then they try to upsell you to another bike that literally costs $1000 more. There is always some excuse and some delay. The bike I originally tried to buy is still being advertised on their website though it doesn’t work and apparently it is the only one in all of Australia! Still waiting on the upsell version from a different 99 Bikes store. Shoddy company with unethical practices. They really do not live up to their stellar reviews - at least not in Adelaide.

Spare of the moment
It was the spare of the moment. I had lost a 'crush washer' when I was servicing my own fork before a weekend ride. Saturday, one hour before closing, I called 99 Bikes - Service Department and, yes! they had one in the workshop... Weekend saved and great staff.

Cash refunds not likely
I bought two inner tubes because I was not sure of the valve type and was assured that I Could return them and get a cash refund if they were not the correct ones. I returned both tubes 5 days later only to be told they will not give me the cash back because I did not return same day ( I paid cash not card) after some discussion they agreed to a refund but had to be bank transfer. It is now 4days no 8 days later no 14 days later and still no cash. I will assume they will blame banks etc but I can do an Osko in 5 seconds and I do not have their power with the banks
It was only $10 but as a pensioner $10 is $10
Learnt my lesson will not be going back
Finally got my $10

Disappointing Customer Service and Experience
I purchased the bike online for click and collect on Friday it showed that the bike was available online for pick up. I contacted the store on Saturday to arrange pick up and was told that the bike needed to be built as they don’t assemble on weekends it will be ready for Tuesday and I would be contacted. By Thursday I hadn’t heard anything so I contacted the store once more and was told that it was there but still needed to be assembled and that it will be ready for Friday and would be contacted. Well come Saturday there was still no word so I contacted the store and spoke to the manager who told me that they only received delivery of the bike on Friday and would assembled it today ready for pick up??
I went into the store for pick up on the Sunday I spoke to the sales assistant who mentioned that the manager wanted to chat but after a considerable wait over 30mins he was no where to be seen.
The sales assistant apologised and I took the bike not hearing anything from the store.
I have a feeling that either the stock wasn’t available for purchase which I understand at this time of year or the bike was sold out from under me as I was told it was in stock. An honest conversation regarding the stock availability and delivery date would have been appreciated.

in about Ten Years , so It was Tricky ,
I find at 99 Bikes they have a Great Selection of
Bikes and Parts and I will go back for more.
At every Point of my Visit I was Shown all I needed
and had Explained How things Worked , Thanks Jed.
Issue with repairs and service standards
I have spent a lot of money servicing and repairing my mountain bike and family bikes, my recent repairs to my mountain bike were completed at the suggestion of the technician. They included paying for the most expensive fee as I was replacing a number of parts (cogs, derailers, chain, brake pads etc) the purpose of my this repair was to get my bike safe to ride in the mountains again. I have since returned by bike three time after testing it in the mountains and the gear changes are no worse than what they were prior to this repair. My brakes also aren't safely engaging which is also really disappointing. I also haven't had any communication when my bike will be ready for collection and it has been at the store over a another week.
Rudi and his team are simply, great
Rudi and his team at Prospect SA store went above and beyond for me. They are true to their satisfaction guaranteed offer. I bought a bike that just wasn’t right for me and they helped me swap over for a full refund and i just paid the gap on the new bike. Rudi listened to what I needed and patiently guided me through options to get what was right for me. No questions, no “yes, but”, no pushback and no negativity, just great service and support, I feel like I’ve made new friends as a result. If you want to enjoy the purchase and support process as well as selecting from a huge range, then do yourself a favour and get in touch with Rudi and his team. Dealing with people that love their job makes for a great experience

I am so pleased with the overall experience at 99 Bikes Prospect SA. I have nothing but good to say about the team and the way they treat you as a VIP. I have bought two bike's now plus many accessories as well as getting bike services. Can't recommend them highly enough.

Have been to a few bike shops seeking knowledgeable & competent mechanics without limited success. Until to now.
Daniel and the team are keen, euthanistic, sound & solid mechanics... which I would recommend to all & sundry for work beyond the basic home maintenance.

Merida eSilex 400 Electric Gravel Bike Anthracite (2021)
Bought this after my Silex 300 ended up under a bus and me with a torn PCL. Thought long and hard about what sort of ebike I really needed/wanted. Tried on on the 30 minute trial. I've found this bike is perfect for me and I couldn't be happier. It is very light in comparison to others so easy to lift, easy to pedal over 25kph, and with mixed power usage, can easily get 50 km out of the smallish battery. Still get the same workout but go further and faster. Great fun. Don't expect the spoke pattern in the pics though.
