Hi Marcus, Unfortunately the government does not allow us to do everything online for non-residents. It is outside of our control! We do try to make it as easy as possible for non-residents, however. Thanks for your continued patience, we know it can be frustrating whilst we work through the different requirements.

Thanks for the Deed of Trust but we are having great difficulty in getting an ABN because of a 'non matching of Associates' as advised by Andrew at the ATO with the rider that they have 20 business days to respond. Andrew could not see any conflict and said all information had been provided? When there is settlement on a property and you can't provide an ABN this causes great anxiety. I have relodged the application for a TFN and ABN and received a reference No 3615897631923 and do not know whether this will conflict with your ref 3615890544709

Unfortunately processing times at the ATO are outside of our control. We have lodged your ABN application as fast as we can, however, it has gone to manual review. This is quite common when it comes to trust structures as the ATO need to verify identities behind the trust structure; which is not automated on their systems.
As per your words - the ATO do not see any conflicting information - meaning we have done our job correctly.
I appreciate it is frustrating and stressful given the property settlement. I am not sure we could have done anything different for you however.

Not only did I get a prompt response
Not only did I get a prompt response, Nick Light went further, investigating why ATO were repeatedly turning down my application for an ABN. Indeed, through his investigation, it came to light that I already had an ABN which was still active.
My sincere appreciation for the immense efforts!
