Our driver, Harrison, picked us up on time and took us to Amboseli National Park safely. In the park, he was coordinating with other drivers where to spot wildlife. The jeep did not have a radio antenna though, unlike other jeeps.

I recommend this one day daily trip to Amboseli as you can see various animals, it is close to Nairobi, you can see the top of Mt Kilimanjaro, and the breakfast and the lunch are divine.

Horrible experience! Africa Kenya safaris still owes us $12,000 CAD or just under $9000 USD.

Africa Kenya safaris cancelled our fully paid safari two weeks before the start date of Nov. 1,2025. As we were already in Africa that left us scrambling to find something else.

Africa Kenya promised to repay us (with some extra) within 45 days after some financial restructuring…we have gotten nothing refunded .. they are absolute fraudsters who continue to do business and defraud others.

We dealt with Mary too.. do not trust her.

And the Kenyan regulatory Tourism authority did nothing, despite big promises to bar Africa Kenya safaris from doing business.

We paid a deposit to AfricanKenyaSafaris for a safari but cancelled on 6 August 2025 after reading numerous extremely poor reviews. We were told clearly that our deposit would be refunded within 60 days.
I dealt with Mary from their customer service team, who originally made the booking. On 21 September, I contacted her to check on the progress of the refund and was told she would follow up with the accounts department and get back to me the next day.
That never happened.
After that, Mary completely stopped responding. I sent follow-up messages on 22 September, 24 September, 26 September, and 5 October with no reply at all.
On 5 October, I contacted another AfricanKenyaSafaris account listed on their website and provided screenshots showing the lack of response from Mary and the poor customer service. I was told someone would come back to me by the end of the day. They didn’t. I have chased this twice since, again with no response.
This has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience. Once they have your money, communication stops. At this point it feels dishonest and untrustworthy.
Awful customer service, no accountability, and no refund despite promises. Avoid this company at all costs!!!

DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. We decided to cancel our booking 6 weeks before we were supposed to go. The reasons as follows,
1. Lack of communication.
2. The reviews.
3. Advised by a former employee.
4. Self confessed cash flow problems.

We were correct in not using them as we are still waiting for our deposit back, just over £3500. We cancelled 22nd August. We were promised and promised but nothing. We are now claiming via our credit card company.
It seems 1 or 2 day safaris they are honouring but anything more they haven't got the money to fund it.
BE WARNED.

Do not book with this company. We paid in full for a 5 day safari, and they contacted us the day before to cancel. We were already in Nairobi! We have not received a refund.
Update: It has been 4 weeks and no refund.

We planned our safari to Kenya and Tanzania with this company one year prior and paid our deposit in July 2024. We saw many good reviews at that time and felt confident that we would have a great trip. Their rep (Aggrey) was always responsive to our questions and we had our itinerary and hotels all planned and (supposedly) booked. Our trip was scheduled for August 2. A few weeks before our departure, we emailed Aggrey about paying our balance and received no response. This caused us concern, so we tried calling the company offices on WhatsApp. We finally got through to their Nairobi airport office and learned that Aggrey had left a month ago and that Esther was in charge of our safari now. We were told Esther would email us, which she did, after an unsettling delay. We heard from her on a Friday, and she promised to email again Monday with guidance for paying our balance. Monday came and no word, so we emailed her back and finally got an email from her on Wednesday. In that email, she suggested we pay the balance when we arrive in Nairobi and again put off giving us the payment details until the next day. This seemed unusual, so we called her directly (her number was on her email). She told us that she had been put in charge of all of Aggrey's clients and that she was focusing now on the July safaris, but would get back to us. No word the next day so we called her again Friday morning. This time we learned that none of our hotels had been booked (!), so she'd had to change some in Kenya and was awaiting confirmations for the ones in Tanzania. Not booked? It had been over a year. That was definitely alarming, but nothing compared to the shock we got when she finally emailed us with the hotel changes in Kenya. Buried at the bottom of her email were these two sentences:

"Am also afraid your deposit was not allocated to the file and right now we are having a cash flow challenges. Please let us know how you can assist then we refund to you later as the balance payment will not be enough to facilitate the full safari."

Well, that was the end of our trip of a lifetime. How could we give this company more of our money after that? We wrote her back immediately and, in no uncertain words, told her that her email left us speechless, that it was not our responsibility to bail out her company, that we were canceling our trip and wanted our deposit back in full. She wrote back with an apology, accepted full responsibility for her company's breach of trust and said she would refer us to the accounting department. Believe it or not, the accounts payable person's name is Honest and, to date, all our emails to him have gone unanswered.

The fact is, we consider ourselves lucky because, even though at the moment we're out thousands of dollars, at least we didn't fly to Nairobi and have to shell out even more money while experiencing some of the hellish circumstances described in other reviews (just check out the ones on the Safari Bookings website under Natural World Kenya Safaris, which is the same company operating under a different name).

We do see good reviews on the various sites, so maybe this was once a good company, or maybe they do fulfill their obligations sometimes. But in our case, and too many others, they’ve proven otherwise. Why gamble on them when there are surely safari companies out there that are truly reputable? Why give them the opportunity to turn your bucket-list trip into a nightmare -- and steal your money in the process?

We've written to all the organizations referenced on their website, including ATTA, TRA, East African Wildlife Society and Ecotourism Kenya. ATTA said their membership was terminated earlier this year and is trying to get them to remove their logo. TRA has asked that we file a formal complaint which we have. Ecotourism is looking into our complaint at present, and we have yet to hear from the Wildlife Society.

We're heartbroken over this fiasco, but if we can prevent it from happening to others, that’s at least some consolation.

WARNING - Do Not Book with this company. You will likely lose your money. This company operates under African Kenya Safaris as well as Natural World Kenya Safaris, so beware of both those names.

Sadly, like a bunch of others you can see on TripAdvisor, we lost thousands of dollars due to this corrupt tour company. We paid for our entire trip, in full, weeks before flying out to Kenya. When we arrived at our second hotel, they said our booking had been completely cancelled by this tour company one full week before we arrived.

Our next two hotel stays were still booked, but the company never paid. We spent 1.5 hours, each time, back-and-forth calling and messaging on WhatsApp in the hotel lobby with all our luggage. Neither were ever paid. It was late, dark, and we were tired and hungry, so we paid (again, since everything had been prepaid before we left home) with our credit card for the hotel - AFTER the tour company rep, Mary Kamau, agreed the company would reimburse us. She acted like this was an outlier, but we later discovered there are plenty of other victims. We had to pay over $2,000 USD (three hotel nights, Serengeti and Ngorongoro) out of pocket for something we had already pre-paid. Luckily, the have since refunded us the money, but I've heard from others who were not so lucky.

Avoid booking with African Kenya Safaris (aka Natural World Kenya Safaris).

My daughter and I had a wonderful experience with Africa Kenya Safaris. The driver was exceptional, the office personnel was kind and very professional. I will definitely book with them again. Asante sana❤️

Our half day private excursion to Nairobi National Park was one we will fondly remember. Our driver John Njomo was excellent, stopping when we wanted to take photos and observe the animals. Really great and professional in all aspects and an excellent driver as the road in the National Park can be really bumpy and muddy and a non-experienced driver would easily get stuck - John handled everything like a pro!
Great and easy communication with the office staff as well - David was very accommodating and really went the extra mile to help us in changing the originally planned date for our excursion. It was a pleasure and hope to see you in the future!

The experience with nature was amazing.I also got to see animals I didn't know existed like the hartebeest.It was generally a very fud day with family.

The campany driver kept time was very respectful and had a wealth of information other people don't have

My solo safari with Africa Kenya Safari was an absolute dream come true! From the moment I landed, David and his team ensured a seamless experience. I took the 4-Day Classic Parks Safari package, and the lodges were comfortable and luxurious, and the food was delicious.

But the real highlight was the game drives with my exceptional guide, James Mwangi. His knowledge and passion for wildlife were terrific. He skillfully navigated the parks, bringing us incredibly close to a diverse range of animals, from sleepy lions to majestic elephants to even playful and cheeky monkeys and baboons.

One of the most breathtaking moments was witnessing the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro from Amboseli National Park. Its snow-capped peak rising above the African savannah was truly magnificent.

I'm still in awe of the breathtaking sights and unforgettable encounters. Africa Kenya Safari truly delivered a personalised and unforgettable safari experience. I highly recommend them to anyone seeking an authentic African adventure.

It was our first safari and it was perfect! Peter was a very safe and knowledgeable driver! He told us a lot about the wildlife.

Saw some really great wildlife. The guide was knowledgeable and the vehicle was comfortable. Would definitely do this tour again!

We had such a wonderful time with Africa Kenya Safaris! We (a family of three) actually booked three trips with them. We booked a full day trip to Lake Nakuru and Lake Naivasha, a 4 day safari to Amboseli, Tsavo West and Tsavo East, and half day trip to Mombasa (Old Town, Fort Jesus and so on). All of the trips were such great experiences with very friendly and knowledgable guides. I cannot put into words how many wonderful experiences we had on these very different trips. We also benefitted from their complimentary airport/train station transfer twice. Both impeccable experiences with very friendly and safe drivers. All drivers and guides were extremely accommodating, flexible and helpful. Communication with their staff at the office was also extremely professional, fast and friendly. Overall, this was a superb experience and we will make sure to come back and book again. Thank you!

Our driver Dennis was right on time. He was highly encouraged to show us as many animals as possible and we took a lot of great photos. Many thanks again to him.
