The professor, the food, the enviornment, things to do

Staff was easily accessible and well informed. Excursions were fun and educational providing a breadth of experiences in the host country. Information was provided mostly after landing in the host country. Housing was updated and centrally located.

My class was incredible! I loved every lesson, and learning about music in Salzburg was like a dream come true. All the activities AIFS chose were so much fun, and I was pleasantly surprised by all of them. If I could, I would do this program again in a heartbeat!

This program was amazing! Janan had so many fun events and really made Spain feel like home. I am so grateful to have had her as a coordinator. This is the perfect program for anyone looking into studying at Spain while also experiencing what Spanish culture is truly about. Valencia was the perfect mix of large city and local community.

This trip was absolutely amazing and I can not say enough good things about it. We had amazing experiences when snorkeling at Kicker Rock as well as many other places that our tour guides took us! We were able to see/swim with sharks, stingrays, giant sea turtles and sea lions!

The company was amazing in helping me feel welcomed and accepted into a new country. They provided resources that were really helpful throughout my stay and I believe that without them I would've been kinda lost on where to go and how to go about things.

This was one of the most influential experiences of my life. I highly recommend going abroad if not to Rome any other place that you can. It completely changed my perspective on life and how full it can be.

I loved my time with AIFS in Rome, and if I could go back in time, I would do it all over again! The apartment I stayed in was gorgeous, and I really loved the AIFS meal plan. No other program I looked at offered a meal plan like that, and even with my dietary restrictions I had no issue finding amazing food to eat. I really enjoyed my course and professor as well. All around a great study abroad experience.

The people in this program are what made the experience so enjoyable! Everyone was so helpful and friendly. They made sure we were having fun and that we were comfortable!

It was one of the best experiences of my life. I loved valencia and everything it had to offer. The food, the style of life, and the beauty that was in every corner of the city made it an unforgettable experience. Janan was one of my favorite parts of the program as well. It’s so nice to have somebody show you so many things during your program. You can also tell how much she really cares about her students. This is more than just a job for her and I couldn’t think of anybody better to do it.

I spent the fall 2023 semester in Sevilla through AIFS and I loved it! AIFS, specifically my resident director, Edu, really made my time there a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Edu has a ton of experience, is super helpful, and is very cool. He went the extra mile to make sure all of us were set up for success. Even small things like showing us where our classes were made a huge difference and were things that students from other programs didn't benefit from. Some of my favorite moments were the activities that AIFS organized, including a paella cooking class and a flamenco class. I also loved how easy it was to travel through Europe from Sevilla, and Edu had a lot of great trips planned for us. Something that took some getting used to was how hot the weather was through October, but it was worth it having 60-70 degree weather in December! If you're thinking about studying abroad in Sevilla with AIFS, I would totally recommend it. Make sure you keep an open mind, try new things, and put yourself outside of your comfort zone. AIFS was there for me every step of the way and I would recommend them for anybody interested in studying abroad, especially in Sevilla!

My time in Granada was more than wonderful. The people I met within my program were the far most genuine, caring and loving people as well as the staff. The culture was amazing and there's too much history to not want to explore. The people in the CLM were helpful. I loved how the professors took the time to get to know me and wanted to help me improve on my Spanish. I would highly recommend for first time visitors to go to Granada as it is an underrated city that is filled with rich culture.

AIFS was very responsive and we did many fun activities as a cohort.

My abroad experience really expanded my world view. I had never left the United States before and it was so much fun to immerse myself in a different culture. I met some really cool people and would highly recommend to anyone to study abroad given the opportunity.

I think the program could have done a better job of connecting the students going to the same destination before departure. I was looking for potential roommates and they would not release a contact list until 2 weeks before the program and by that point I no longer needed it. My program's default option was a homestay, but I chose not to do that and it worked out a lot better for me.

I just finished my intern experience in Florence, Italy with AIFS and I had the time of my life! Living and working in Florence for 3 months was a dream come true and it was an amazing group of 10 girls in the program! While the work experience was great one of the best parts of interning in Florence was the friends I made while there. All 10 of us got along so well and were ready to travel and adventure together the whole time. We were able to take amazing day and weekend trips throughout Italy and the surrounding countries. I have so many cherished memories and laughs from my time in Florence and I would immediately do it all over again if given the chance!

Berlin is a really wonderful and historic city to live in. My German is basically nonexistent and I still felt like I was able to get around fine. The AIFs staff are very supportive, and the organized actives were well structured and thought out. If you weren’t interested in some or all of the activities, you didn’t have to participate and there was plenty of time to do your own thing around Berlin or travel throughout Europe. I didn’t particularly enjoy my academic experience at Humboldt, there were a few good classes but also a few really awful ones. So, if I could do it again I would probably do the AIFS program with Freie Universität academic program.

The Sydney program with AIFS is fantastic; I would recommend it to everyone. I participated in their internship program in 2023 and couldn't have asked for a better experience. Sydney is an extremely safe city with friendly people. Traveling is easy, and there are so many things to do in Sydney and Australia. Our Australian mom for the program, Andrea, is just as amazing and made the experience even better. As for the internship, I loved my experience working for the finance team in a non-profit. Also, the housing is very nice and in a great location.

I had an amazing time during my AIFS Abroad Internship program in Florence! There was a group of 9 girls total, all from different areas in the US, and we all ended up becoming so close throughout the program. The staff provides exciting group events and excursions (bike tours, pasta making class, etc), so there is plenty of opportunity to have fun and meet new people. As for the actual internship component of the program, it's great to get real world work experience while getting to live abroad! During the initial process of internship placement be VERY clear with exactly what you want so AIFS can match you to your future company as best as possible. They have a lot of great connections and companies that they can match you with!

My experience with AIFS Abroad was overall great. Beyond a few superficial issues, namely with the housing, I have no complaints. I felt supported through the entire process, from application to exit. The onsite coordinator, Greta, was amazing. Any issues that I ran into were quickly and efficiently resolved with her help.
One complaint that I have involves the classes that I was enrolled in with the program. The instructor for GE 301 was not as involved as I would have hoped for, and the frequency with which he released assignments proved to be detrimental to the overall accomplishment of said assignments. I would have hoped that there would be a schedule for when assignments would be opened that spread them out over the entire semester. Instead, the first was not available until mid October, the next almost a month later, and the rest opened all at the same time a few weeks after that.
Nonetheless, my experience was amazing and I would highly recommend AIFS to others.
