Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages Reviews 

I would recommend Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages based on my experience this year. The online booking process was easy to navigate. The property was delightful and really well equipped. On my arrival day I got a courtesy call to let me know the property was ready ahead of time, which I really appreciated. I definitely intend to use this company again.

The cottage was clean and comfortable. Good position . Suitable for us as a couple and 2 dogs. The only thing that was jarring was paperwork in the house asked us to "clean and leave the house in a condition that would show no sign of the dogs being there". We always clear up and clean before we leave. We did pay extra dog fees presumably for cleaning. The owner was not doing us a favour allowing our dogs, as we paid extra for the privilege. We felt the wording was begrudging and a little ungracious. Some local information would have been welcome, local dogwalks, shortcuts to beach, etc.. I know a welcome pack is not compulsory but this cottage is the first we have been to with not even a pint of milk in the fridge. We did travel from Bristol. We are in our mid 60s and have stayed in a lot of cottages . We did have a good week but just a couple of things could be improved .

Excellent house and facilities and highly recommended

This is our 5th year with Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages, in various cottages and they have all been clean and well-equipped. This year's choice, 2 Hazelwood, was all on one level and a great location for exploring the area. Already thinking about next year's cottage!

I really appreciate the swift personal service at Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages. They rang to let us know we could arrive early, responded fast to a plumbing problem and were grateful when we alerted them to a gutter problem after a dramatic storm

Terrible. The apartment upstairs was undergoing renovations during my (intended) one week stay. There was persistent loud banging and drilling throughout the day, including over a weekend. I contacted Aldeburgh Coastal Cottages three times by email and they failed to respond on all occasions. What was supposed to be a recuperative week away after cancer surgery turned into a nightmare. I gave up after four days and left.

Not the first time that we have used this company. Have found them to be efficient, professional and helpful. Good website.

A very nice well appointed cottage in a great location.
Comfortable and well furnished, with plenty to do in the surrounding area. Aldeburgh is a couple of miles away and well worth a visit.
Thorpeness is a lovely spot and the cottage is within easy walking distance to the beach and pub and the Meare (Boating Lake). Highly recommended.

We enjoyed our stay through Aldeburgh Costal Cottages very much.
It was a very clean, bright house, which accomodated our needs well. Fresh new linen was an added bonus.
The information and images about the property were good. Booking was simple and the staff at Aldeburgh Costal Cottages were responsive and helpful whenever I was in contact with them.

I can't think of anything that wasn't good ànd I want to come back next year . It suited me wonderfully . Great care had been taken with equipment and the bed was great . The front door lock didn't work well but someone came to replace it the same day
The wall lights in the sittimg room left something to be desired but it didn't really matter .
Everything else was super.

Stunning lakeside bungalow. It was fantastic to be able to explore the lake every day with free use of the owners’ boat. Bungalow was clean and very well equipped. It was hard to find accommodation all on one floor, so I was so pleased to find this place. As a constructive suggestion for when the shower room is next renovated, my partner (who has Parkinson’s) would have liked some sort of grab rail in the shower. There is also no “normal” tv channels here - you have to watch on I-player etc. I didn’t have time to watch tv anyway but it was a slight downside for my partner. Just those minor points; we had a lovely holiday.

Efficient booking experience, quick response to two property problems during our week stay. Property a little tired, would benefit from updating.

We have been booking with Aldeburgh Cottages for several years now. The process has always been quick and easy. And all the staff are extremely helpful.

A lovely property in an ideal location. Very comfortable with all the required facilities. The only comments we would make are: i) that the door between the living area and the bedrooms couldn't be closed, which was slightly inconvenient as we had a dog; the lock needs fixing ii) the rubbish collection bins near the field were nearly full and needed emptying when we arrived - that may be down to the local council though; iii) the field we hired for exercising the dog had a couple dead birds/hares in it on the far side which was slightly problematic with a dog as I had to make sure he was kept on a lead in that area. It would have been better if we had been able to let him run free throughout the field. So I would suggest and dead wildlife is removed to make the field totally safe for a dog. I didn't want him to try to eat them! Iv) the public footpath through the property has a stile at the end of it when it leaves the property which can't be navigated by a dog. If that could be replaced by a gate, that closes automatically, as used on the Suffolk coastal path, then that would be great as I could walk the dog on it! I appreciate though that there would be a cost to that and it is important that the property is secured at all times from wildlife. Apart from those points, we were very satisfied and we have booked again for next year! Thank you very much indeed.

We had a lovely stay in thorpness and the photos of the layout of the property were correct. It was the safety and upkeep of the garden that was not as shown in the photo. Main downstairs floor needed a good scrub ,the cleaners need a new mop and bucket and the kitchen cupboards where ,anything shoved in to any cupboard,they need sorting please.generally the place needs a bit of TLC.
Bedrooms and bathrooms fine. The fridge freezer needs defrosting as draws would not open.hope this helps.

Booking experience was good. We loved the holiday house.
Location was great and house was well equipped.

A workman turned up uninvited and tried to gain access to the property via the key pad. Aldeburgh coastal cottages had sent him to our accommodation in error.

The fridge was way too small for the accommodation that is for 4 people.
