Horrible customer service: item never received, no refund

My review refers to PSA, an affiliate of AoS which was until recently hosted under the same website with AoS. I have used PSA products over the past years, specifically their “reset” cleanser, the “silver” moisturiser and the “goals” serum. In terms of products I only had an issue with the “reset” cleanser, my face reacted very poorly to it and I stoped using it after 2-3 tries. I am satisfied with the other products I have been using so far.
Two months ago I placed my order and expected the items (2) to arrive a few days later, as was always my experience with Allies of Skin/PSA. Long story short, I received one of the two items a month later, and the other one is nowhere to be found. I have contacted their support 4 times, and after explaining that I never received my order I receive an answer from them with a tracking link that doesn’t work. From then on they stop replying all together.
I have never encountered such a horrible customer service before; if I hadn’t ordered from this company in the past, I would swear they are a scam. I am utterly disappointed because I did like their products. I am generally rather patient, I get that sometimes there are issues with transport, but at this point I feel I have been scammed 50€, which was the price of the product. I never received the package, I have asked repeatedly where my package is, I have requested a refund, to all of which I have received no answer whatsoever, they have just disappeared.

Trop cher et sans résultats

J’ai testé une crème conseillée par une dermatologue. La crème coûtait 120€ environ. Après l’avoir utilisé de façon régulière, je n’ai vu aucun résultat. Pour ce prix là, c’est vraiment décevant.

I always bought eyes cream from this company. I have enough of it for half a year. But the last order made in November, was a liquid consistency and has already run out. This is not a cheap cream and poor quality lately. I don’t recommend for purchase.

Product sizes too small to see results

Product sizes too small to see results, 7ml of product with results seen in 8 weeks and didn’t even last 3 only using 2 small pumps. Really wanted to see results however the product just didn’t last enough.

Products were not right for me but customer services were good when an issue arose

My experience of the products wasn’t great, I had a terrible reaction which ended up with me on GP prescribed antihistamines.

But the company as a whole, ordering was easy, products arrived earlier than I anticipated as there were some stock issues - but they resolved it quickly. When I contacted them to say I had experienced a bad reaction and sent photos they quickly sent me info on how to return it all to them for a refund.

My only thing I would change would be that they incurred the cost of the postage. Returning the items on top of the cost of medication has cost nearly £30. So it isn’t a lot to ask Allies to send a free returns label in the instance of an allergic reaction (like other companies do).

THERE IS NO CUSTOMER SUPPORT AT ALL!!!

The products are good, however there is absolutely NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! So as long as you don’t have any issues, you’re fine, but if you need help YOU ARE OUT OF LUCK, BECAUSE CUSTOMER SERVICE DOES NOT EXIST! I ordered several products November 27, 2024 and only received part of my order. I attempted to reach out for help with no luck, so I’m writing this review. There is no phone number which reaches them, and it’s a monumental task to email them, and when you email Allies of Skin, they don’t even respond with anything other than “ they do not consider themselves at all responsible for lost shipments!” I am now out an additional $235 for a product I NEVER RECEIVED!!!
Even a great product is not worth purchasing if you have no options when there are shipping issues.
I WILL NEVER PURCHASE ANOTHER THING FROM ALLIES OF SKIN!!! If ALLIES CANNOT STAND BEHIND THERE BUSINESS THEY ARE A POOR EXCUSE FOR A BUSINESS AND USELESS! How can they not care if customers pay for, but do not receive their products?!?!?!

9/2/2025: Anyone who’s interested might like to know I NEVER RECEIVED ANY COMMUNICATION FROM ALLIES OF SKIN, THEY HAD NO INTEREST IN REFUNDING THE MISSING PRODUCTS AND NO INTEREST IN ANY TYPE OF REFUND. ALIIES OF SKIN TRULY DOES NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR CUSTOMERS OR THEIR REPUTATION.

Twice let down by Black Friday orders with their policies and support that hurt customers

To be clear, this review is not about their products, which are excellent. It is solely about their website policies and customer support, which were extremely disappointing and unhelpful.
I made two orders during last Black Friday. One of the orders was two skincare products, taking advantage of the discounts. And Vitamin C & Omegas Cleansing Balm was a gift.
Unfortunately, my other order was "lost in transit," but I suspect it was never even shipped. When I contacted customer service, they refunded my money without my consent. This meant I lost the free product and the discounted price, as I would have to reorder at full price.
This has happened to me two years in a row during Black Friday sales, and it seems like a deliberate tactic to avoid honoring discounted purchases.

No accountability

Spent $400 and had to follow up with an order which ended up being delayed (no warning of this prior) and left the country before receiving the order. They take zero responsibility for their delivery service. Other companies will give a warning that shipments are delayed during certain times, giving you the ability to decide if you want to purchase or not. However, they failed to do so. Strong on marketing, poor on delivery and follow through.

Beware of old stock if even ordering direct from Allies of Skin - guys you can do better!

I liked AOS products but as is the case with so many things, it only takes one bad experience and poor customer service to change your mind.

I’ve ordered many times of AOS and the dates are usually very good. At least three years before they expire. Ordered a Recovery Cream Balm along with a cleanser. The cleanser arrived with a great date - expires end of 2027. The Cream Balm arrived with 8 months left before expiry in the company’s pre facelift packaging. So clearly old stock. Rather than simply admit it and offer a solution, they try to claim all of their current stock is of the same expiry date but that they always make their products in small batches to ensure freshness. Contradiction much and a flimsy excuse! Clearly some of their stock is old and they sell it regardless. So be careful, it seem like it is a bit of a lottery whether what you get is fresh. Plenty of other brands manage customer service way better and just admit if a product is old or may not be as effective. Got some learning to do guys and gals because products may be nice but you fall down with your customer service

Had a problem with order today

Had a problem with order today - I ordered to the old address and its been solved literally in 30 min with support. Why does the company has such a low rating?? One of the best performing skincare brands! Support is great. Delivery is ok (add dhl option can be a good idea). Love it!

Fantastic brand

I just came across the reviews of this company by accident and I’m baffled by the “scam” claims. Had to post my experience because some of the reviews here are just BIZARRE!

I’ve been using their products for five years now and never had an issue. Their customer service has always been fine. A little slow occasionally maybe but they always reply within a few days. I had a problem with the pump on one of the items and they dispatched a replacement within hours.

The actual products are incredible. I have used A LOT of skincare and nothing compares (La Mer?? Really?!? 🤦🏻‍♂️) for results.

I’ve used their UK and US websites and never had any issues with either.

People criticising them for having sales clearly don’t understand how small business works.

Please avoid them

A company that uses scam techniques to lure customers. Always on discounts and one for one deals. I have seen so many negative reviews just like what I have experienced.

Pretending to be a cult luxury brand when it's just nothing more than selling mediocre products at exorbitant prices. A small serum for over $200? I would rather buy LA MER. Total regret.

Poor customer service, tonnes of excuses to deter my returns. Will NEVER buy again.

Lost order & refusing to refund

The company doesn’t deserve a single star. I placed an order with them. I received a notification that my order was delivered a week later. However, this was never received. I contacted the courier company who confirmed that the order was not delivered on set date & advised to contact Allies of skin. Unfortunately, Allies of Skin has not refunded nor resolved the issue. Their customer service claims that no refund will be issued until they hear from the courier. It’s a disaster to say the least. An ongoing issue for over a month since I placed the order. Never again! Their products are not worth the drama.

Great preventative skincare

I am constantly looking for perfect skin products as prefer the prevention aspect of looking after your skin.

I have hit the dreaded menopause and noticed a major difference to my skin and need extra help.

I came across Allies of Skin as I am a part of Caroline Hirons skincare freaks group and to be honest my skin absolutely loves the products.

The staff are always very responsive to queries.

I have used a variety of products and am a fan if the cleanser and the oils and the best invention seems to be the lip balm.

I have been lucky enough to be invited to a one to one consultation with the founder which I have not yet scheduled but I will.

They introduced a points scheme some time ago which is generous and again I have received free products discount codes etc.

The products are pricy but then what would you sound on procedures after the damage is done?

So prevention is that key and Allies of Skin are the clear winner for my skin regime.

Really expensive poor quality I ordered 2 products these are not inexpensive the night cream with peptides and retinol and the recovery balm both did not dispense product from the pump you press continually and nothing comes out am very disappointed that no one has got back to me from the help email address nor from the online form I have completed I will never buy from them again

Run away if you're security and privacy-cautious

Worst skincare company ever! Not talking about their products, as I've been forbidden from buying/trying them by AoS themselves. Actually talking about AoS endangering your online security/privacy and making you lose money.
Like any savvy internet user, I've been using a VPN for years; and as someone with skin issues, I've been ordering skincare online for years as well. I'm using a renowned VPN service; when I purchase anything online, I always select the EU country I'm living in as the country I'm virtually located in. And I've never had any problems!
Here's what happened with AoS. I want to try one of their products (worth 137€) and they have a very nice offer on their EU website (a complimentary product worth 109€). So, instead of going through a EU-based retailer, I decide to order directly on their website. When I pay, I'm disappointed that there's no 3-D Secure protocol (mandatory in the EU). But okay, I've already ordered outside the EU before and so far (luckily) I never encountered any issues even without the 3-D Secure (but I was always using a VPN). The next morning, the money has already been taken away from my bank account, so I assume everything's fine. The day after that, I check my emails and discover with great disappointment that AoS cancelled my order. I write to AoS, they tell me it's because my online location didn't coincide with my shipping address. So, with AoS, you're not allowed to use a VPN (even when it's located in your own country), and I guess you're not allowed to order skincare while travelling either (for when you're back home). I explain to them that I merely used a VPN, just like everyone should; and that this VPN was located in my own country. They tell me they must check that people placing orders are real people and that they're not using a stolen debit/credit card. I get that, but then why not implement the 3-D Secure or a similar protocol? And if their security system detects a geographical inconsistency, why wait until after the money is taken away from the consumer's bank account before cancelling the order, instead of cancelling immediately? Doesn't make any sense to me. Then, I discover the amount of money they reimbursed me (132.96€) doesn't match the amount I paid (137€). AoS tells me you can have currency exchange rate fluctuations or banks deducting fees. Still, I'm very angry because AoS (not me) cancelled my order (when I did nothing wrong), and I'm the one losing money. Despite not being responsible for the cancellation, I must bear the cost of said cancellation. How is that fair?! So, in the end, I lose 4.04€ and I get nothing at all. Thanks AoS!
Nevertheless, AoS tells me the next time I order, they will manually validate my order even if I use a VPN. They also tell me very kindly that when I placed my first order, I forgot to add a code allowing me to get a second free product (so product A worth 137€ + complimentary product B worth 109€ + complementary bottle of product A worth 137€ = 137€ worth 383€). This is very promising, so I place a second order. This time, I decide not to use a VPN. I'm very uncomfortable with this, but I fear AoS will forget to manually validate my order. Sadly, still no 3-D Secure. But my order is accepted, so I'm happy and hopeful. I go back to my life; but after a few days, I realise the 137€ payment has not gone through yet. I log on to my AoS account and discover with great rage that my second order has been cancelled too, even though I didn't use a VPN. I check: my bank account is sufficiently funded, and my bank ceiling is far from being reached. This time at least, I didn't lose any money. But the overall result of me trying to purchase AoS products is still: 4.04€ lost & 0 product received.
What is wrong with AoS?! If they don't want to sell their products to EU consumers, why have a EU website? If they don't want to sell their products on offer, why have offers (and even tell their clients that they forgot an offer)? I'm going through a painful, long-term disease and even if it sounds shallow, skincare is currently one of my sole pleasures in life: it allows me to still feel like a woman. AoS ruined that pleasure, not once, but twice! As for the first cancellation, I see it as AoS sacrificing their consumers' security to ensure their own security: by prohibiting the use of VPNs, they are forcing their clients to make insecure payments; they want to save their own asses from potential fraud, but what about their clients' asses?! As for the second cancellation, big question mark, still don't understand; maybe AoS just wants to avoid clients they find annoying, even when the latter are just trying to ensure their basic rights to security/privacy!
PS: always question companies that don't allow reviews on the world's most famous search engine.

The prebiotic & niacimide serum I like. Nice feeling on the skin. Does not irritate!
