Same delivery problems over and over, no resolution

Customer service is becoming increasing difficult to even con tact without going through a set of AI-like questions that repeatedly lead to dead ends with no answers to ones question>

When you do get ahold of a rep, he or she is usually polite and may help resolve an issue. Or at least possibly get the ball rolling.

The biggest problem is Amazon Delivery repeatedly and often delivering packages to a different address. It can take days to get resolved. Once they delivered a Mac to the wrong address and after an online battle (for that much money they were much less helpful) and a the next day the computer suddenly appeared unsecured/unattended and unannounced in the building entrance lobby.
No other of the major delivery services have these problems, only Amazon.
Although every time the reps assure me (and my wife) that the problem will be forwarded to Amazon Delivery to ensure it never happens again. hen a short time later, it happens again and the whole mess starts over.
I recall, year ago, when Amazon had good customer service. They have obviously gotten too be and no longer care at all.

A blight on Amazon's name

They are extremely unreliable as an international marketplace. Both orders I placed with them in the last year ended up failing to deliver by the due date. The only good thing is they don't argue about refunds, probably because they know it's their fault as a really bad service. I ended up deleting my account with them and will never use them again.

Item arrived with order in a single box…

Item arrived with order in a single box with NO protection. The box was damaged - amazon not giving any compensation or option to refund. Amazon Japan is not the same as global amazon - I’ve shopped before in Us, UAE and Australia - all have amazing customer service. Japan has no customer service. Shame on amazing Japan

Amazon Closed My Account Without Warning or Justification – A Cautionary Tale

I am writing to warn other users about a disturbing experience I recently had with Amazon.co.jp.

On March 12, 2025, I used a gift card that was given to me by a friend. The card was accepted by Amazon’s system without any issue. Days later, my account was permanently closed with a vague statement that I had violated the terms and conditions related to the gift card.

I was given no detailed explanation, no evidence, and no opportunity to appeal. Despite being a legitimate user acting in good faith, Amazon refused to refund my balance, return my order history, or even explain what exactly I had done wrong.

I sent multiple formal inquiries to Amazon customer support and executive relations , but received nothing more than generic, dismissive replies.

This is not just about my account. It's about the danger of centralized platforms taking irreversible actions without transparency or accountability. Amazon acted unilaterally, with no due process, and treated me as guilty without a chance to defend myself.

I have since filed a complaint with the National Consumer Affairs Center of Japan (国民生活センター), and will continue escalating this matter to regulatory agencies and consumer protection groups worldwide.

If Amazon can do this to me, they can do it to anyone. Please be careful when putting your trust, data, and money in the hands of platforms that do not respect their users or their rights.

Amazon Remains Convenient, But Caution with Marketplace Vendors is Needed

Amazon can be incredibly useful—especially as a Prime member, I’ve found that most items arrive within 24 hours, with no shipping fees, which is a major advantage. When my kids were younger I relied almost daily on the platform, to get milks or diapers, baby clothings etc...

That said, marketplace vendors have significantly increased in recent years, and with that comes a risk of mixed experiences—particularly in terms of product quality and delivery time. I feel article reviews are not as reliable as they used to be...

To avoid issues, I personally try to choose products that are shipped directly from Amazon's distribution centers, as they tend to be more reliable in terms of both logistics and service standards. (come with 30 days return option)

Overall, Amazon remains a convenient and efficient option, I wished they could optimize their operation to be a bit more SDGs conscious... (when ordering 3 items, would make them to group them in one package, and optimize size of the shipping box accordingly)

Found exactly what i needed

Found exactly what i had been seaching after for a very long time, which is the Mitsubishi Kagaku Media Verbatim BD-R DL 360.
I ordered such 4 spindles with 50 pcs and a couple of days later they notified me that they had been shipped using DHL.

About 2 days later they again send me a mail in the morning, this time notifying me that DHL would be delivering them on the very same day and sure enough, the same day as i recieved the delivery notification, there DHL delivered the package with the BD-R DL discs in the afternoon.

No complaints here, fast delivery by Amazon Japan and DHL all the way up here to Denmark.

Sended me new console broken-edit refund

Sended me new console broken. after negotiations back to Amazon. they only give me a part of the money back, can't contact them. requests don't work. scam. stay away

After few email Amazon.com.jp process refund of my shipping costs, half to my visa and half to gift card. I'm almost happy now but I have to take one star because of all stress what I get, not fully refund on time and not fully refund to my visa card. I suggest not give up for all customers continue shoping and have a lot of patience with contacts with support of Amazon.

Easily usable, but filled with problems,

Okay, I admit that I use Amazon quite a bit. Although the prices are rarely cheaper than normal stores, and often more expensive than Donki or Bic Camera for many things, you pay for the convenience of not having to go to a store or hunt for things you need. That said, some products are conspicuously missing or clearly offered by scammers at inflated prices that are not monitored by Amazon. Furthermore, the Japanese site in particular is missing search and filtering features that exist in other places; specifically, although it offers poorly made and overly wide price ranges, it doesn't support custom price ranges. The suggestions are often irrelevant, and you have to scroll past a bunch of sponsored garbage before finding the actual hits. Other problems exist too, such as no standard base for price comparisons...for example, if a bunch of sellers are selling packs of soy milk, so will list price my mL, some by box, and some just the price of the set...completely worthless. If you're looking for computer parts, you would normally want to search by specs, but it's just not supported. Listers put products in the wrong categories, fail to fill in the descriptions, don't offer detailed pictures, and sometimes offer multiple unrelated products in the same listing. So, for many things it's a great site, but once you step a little bit outside the mainstream, it's sketchy and unreliable.

50% refund on returning goods that arrived late

Looks loke I am not the only one having difficulties contacting someone at Amazon Japan to find out why they have only refunded me 50% of the goods that they said would be delayed.

I bought some cycling shoes needing delivery by Wed as I had an event on Thurs so I used Express service. I received a mail from them early Wed morning to say the delivery would be delayed and would now be delivered sometime between Thurs-Sun. Despite asking me whether I wanted to cancel I was unable to do so. Given I needed the shoes and could not take a chance I went to Tokyo (1 hour away) to buy a similar pair of shoes. The delivery actually turned up 9pm on Wed evening but I was not at home as I was on Tokyo. It got delivered the following day and I immediately asked for recollection and return of my money.

A few weeks later I was contacted by Amazon saying I would be refunded 50% of the amount without any explanation.

I now cannot contact anyone at Amazon nor are there any explanation as to why I only get 50%

Someone at Amazon please feel free to get in touch and let me know

For Authors and Creatives

I am writing as an author, editing Amazon.jp listings.

I am English and I do not speak Japanese, so I'd first like to praise the written language skills, of the Japanese Amazon staff. They understood my issue perfectly and have tried their very best to assist me.

Amazon.jp works well, with almost no problems, from what I've seen of what I have been able to edit. They have an author central, which is easy to join and navigate. Edits are made very quickly, without argument or hassle. The issue I had was, being a foreign language author, many of my books are listed on the site, but not on the author central, so I am unable to edit them. There appears to be a technical issue on the site and the staff, although they are still working on it, are unable to resolve it, or offer me an alternative, weeks later. As a result, one of my listings is absolutely perfect, but the remainder are almost wholly incorrect.

The staff are friendly, polite and helpful. Although I did not expect them to do so, having experienced the incompetence and arrogance of other amazon sites, they provide me with regular updates about the technical issue, which they are still working on, which is why I rate them higher, despite my inability to complete the job in hand.

I cannot comment on their service in any other respect, but as regards their assistance for the makers of what they list, I rate them as good. If you do not encounter a technical issue I deduce that the site will no doubt work perfectly.

I would also note that; unlike amazon.com, amazon.jp do have a clickable box on here, at the foot of the review, so that they can receive your reviews, both positive and negative, if you want them to do so, meaning that they give the impression of being concerned about their customers thoughts and feelings, which is very positive and welcome.
