STAY AWAY, NOT WORTH THE EXPERIENCE!!!
Reply to AM comment: No new battery offered (only fix of current one which had no issue per AM statement and only under condition of removing this review - this a offer came up after 3 months!

For the warranty claim I had to cover shipping there and back, the response rate was awful. They have returned the items after 6 months with rejected warranty claim after I had to involve the EU agency to mediate the communication (to even respond and stop blackmailing)!!!!

Part of the warranty claim was the battery and the display. Battery was not able to be fully charged (voltage not capacity), after six months with the company is not working at all!!!
The sealed display contained water - I have provided video and photo about the water inside upfront (wasn't apparently sealed at all). Claim rejected based on the damaged display which arrived with few scratches after transport company damaged the package. They shouldn't accept the package at first place as it was insured!!!

The worst company I have ever dealt with. Their staff are at best incompetent and at worst outright liars. Avoid at all costs!

I was buying a 2nd hand amladcykler cargo trike from a private individual in the UK. The company were incredibly helpful in authenticating the serial number and invoice the woman was providing as proof of ownership and to identify the bike. There was no need for the to help me from a sales point of view, but they obviously uphold high professional standards and want to help reduce crime and provide assurance to those buying their bikes, even if nit from them. They were extremely prompt and helpful over the phone and online.

Absolutely dismal and I currently have one I bought online from Amladcykler, which I cannot use (declared dangerous and unfixable by two expert bicycle mechanics) and have not had any help from one of the worst customer services in my life experience.

The item took over 2 months to arrive; the first box arrived 6 weeks after ordering and the second arrived opened nearly 8 weeks after that. The manual was unclear with black and white images (blurry) and a YouTube clip that is not in English. I did not trust myself to assemble this so I paid a bicycle mechanic (a mechanical engineer by trade) assemble the bike, which took him 3 visits in total (between 3-6 hours for each visit!).

The bicycle was heavy and cumbersome to ride, and the cargo itself was very large for two children (unnecessary/ wasted space that adds weight). The seat belts were flimsy (I later realised the company shamefully sells better ones at an additional cost!) and came loose in the first week of usage. I mended and secured these using additional bolts.

After less than 3 months of lightly using this bike— essentially to cycle my two young children to school/ nursery 10 minutes and back— the axle has completely broken. I had noticed the bicycle wobble and took it to a bicycle shop, after a lengthy assessment, I was told that this was the issue but that 1) an ordinary bike mechanic would not have space to work on such a cumbersome bike; and 2) there are welded items that make fixing this issue impossible. I had the bike assessed at another reputable bike shop and mechanics, with the same conclusion.

They advised me to go back to the shop, but of course, I was silly enough to buy this online. Amladcykler have been incredibly unhelpful and blamed the assembly. They have not offered any practical/ technical support, although they claimed that they would, and I am now stuck with a bicycle that has been declared dangerous by two expert mechanics (I will not risk cycling my children with a wobbly cargo bike!!) and a seller who denies any responsibility.

Amladykler list a UK number on their website, which I rang, but they are simply a sales outlet in Sussex, who were polite but unable to help, again, suggesting I go back to Amcabikes.

Needless to say I’m disappointed but my children are confused and upset as they grew to love being in a cargo bike. I’m now stuck and will contact my bank to see if they are able to help.

Please learn from my mistake and do not purchase a cargo bike online from a place outside of the country you live in, and where there is no physical shop to get support. Ambladykes (and yes I’m struggling to get the name right) is a company I would steer away from.

In response to the reply from Amcargobikes:

1) I bought my bike after the pandemic (2022), so the delivery issue is unconnected.

2) I bought the bike 80% assembled, which is an overestimate as I had a professional mechanic assembler the remainder, and he found it challenging. This isn't something that an average Jo, like myself, can manage.

3) I had the bike checked by a local bike mechanics/ shop, who questioned the weight of bike and its basic design; and then noticed the mechanical issue that he deemed unsafe. I didn't take risks.

I wrote to Amcargobikes, I tried to phone, I tried to get a refund through my bike, and finally gave up and had it collected to be discarded. What a waste of money, time and energy. All this because I wanted to save myself some money, though I've learned valuable lessons.
