I find there are too many requests for additional costs

I started out wanting to know about my Dad's ancestors,having never met my grandfather.I wanted to know why my family was Canadian and my Dad's uncle's family American? I found all these answers and details!! Also maybe I am fortunate but I found out my American ancestors were famous.7 distant cousins signed either the Declaration of Independence or the U.S Constitution.1 signed both!! I found true heros and heroines an explorer who discovered Antarctica Traced my roots to the 1500's to Lords Barons Sir in Scotland .etc I highly recommend everyone reading this to give Ancestry DNA a try!!!

Do not trust this company.

I have been paying for a service I signed up for and only accessed it one time.

I paid them 34 dollars a month for 6 years and they would not refund me due to "policy reasons"
There is no humanity in this company
Go with any other company to get what you are looking for.

I have not had any Knowles DNA matches, nor matches to any known relatives who had found me in their DNA search. I paid $200 for my DNA to be tested and expected more than me entering known parents and selecting their parents from a list that was already populated. Then to be asked for more money to obtain information is ludicrous!

I am excited to be able to record my ancestry this way. It really goes into depth. I am learning so much and given me a purpose!!

I’ve now submitted my DNA sample three separate times since 2021, and each experience has been extremely frustrating. Every time, I carefully followed the instructions, mailed the sample, and then waited months for results—only to receive the same message: “unable to extract DNA.”

At this point, it feels like a complete waste of time and money. Waiting that long, three different times, with no resolution or clear explanation is unacceptable. There doesn’t seem to be any accountability or meaningful support offered to figure out why this keeps happening or how to fix it just an offer to send a free replacement.

I understand that issues can occur occasionally, but having the same problem happen repeatedly over several years suggests a deeper issue with either the process or quality control. Customers shouldn’t have to keep repeating the same steps with no different outcome.

Overall, this has been a very disappointing experience, and I wouldn’t recommend the service based on my repeated failures to get results.

I just sent Ancestry a glowing review about how much I appreciated the work done for me. I was very upset to find my review to Ancestry was immediately placed on Facebook. My review was private and I did not appreciate you sharing this info. I did not give permission for my review to be placed on Facebook nor did I ask for Trust Pilot! I have never used Trustpilot before today and I never will want to!

Too expensive for no new info for me. Any more info requires me to pay more.

It took too long to get the very little information available. I did not enjoy getting so many emails. For the price, I really didn't get much information that I did not already know. I guess my ancestors and current family did not move around a lot, nor have they engaged in this type of activity.

This site charged me $24.83 after I cancelled the service and refuse to give a refund. I have gone back and forth with customer service and they would rather I leave a negative review vs. helping me out with cancelling a service that I was under the impression was already cancelled. The site is very deceiving I do not reccomend anyone use this site

I am pleasantly surprised to find out at age 57 my background.

I basically view Ancestry as a feedback loop. I give information and it’s fed back to me as if it were genealogy. I got nothing new. Disappointed that I was solicited, on a daily basis, to get more information.

I am beyond disappointed with the results, you basically told me what I already know which is that I am in Quebec and that my parents were born here too. Seriously this is a lark. My sister had hers done before you purchased the company and hers was very complete, with the information going much further in our ancestry. I also had friends that had it done before the change in the company and theirs were also very detailed as far as were their ancestors came from. This was such a farce, you told me what I already knew, you should be ashamed of yourselves for charging people for such a let down.
