Nowhere near as easy as it made out to be…
Trying to just get an ‘estimate’ as a guide to a pension pot seemed to me like pulling teeth. All i was after was a top 5(?) of the current annuity providers and what they might offer given the size of pension pot i have. And yes i can hear the argument now ‘its not that simple, we need to talk you through all the options’ No… i do not want unsolicited calls from salespeople vying for my money.
Update…
So i read your reply and subsequent ‘update’ and that it agrees(?) that you really ought to give a basic annuity guide to a pension pot value. Great i thought, i’ll up my star rating. But having then tried the newly upgraded guide, it still only gave me a £number with no mention of who the provider was. I’m still after figures, just basic, nothing fancy, from the current top five(ish) annuity providers given the size of my pension pot, with the names of the companies, so i can at least know who i might get a better deal from, rather than just walking into a retirement annuity meeting ‘blind’ so to speak.
Star rating to stay the same.
