A great choice of machines to use
Nice to see all machines clean and working and not to bunched up

I am extremely disappointed with Anytime Fitness Birkenhead. My original membership commitment ended in November, yet the club initiated an auto-renewal and charged my bank via Direct Debit in December and January without any prior reminder or clear notice.
When I confronted the manager about these unexpected charges, I was told only then about the 'automatic' nature of their contracts. Following their advice, I cancelled via the website, only to find a hidden note stating I must pay for yet another month (the 'notice period').
It is predatory to renew a customer's contract without consent and then demand further payment just to let them leave. Under the Consumer Rights Act 2015, contract terms must be prominent and fair. Hiding these obligations in the fine print and failing to send renewal reminders breaches CMA transparency guidelines.
I have already cancelled my Direct Debit and I will not be paying for this 'extra' month. I expect Anytime Fitness Birkenhead to waive this final charge and confirm my account is closed. Future members: check your statements closely, as they will keep charging you long after your initial term ends.
Despite my original contract ending in November 2025, Anytime Fitness Birkenhead auto-renewed my membership without any prior reminder. When I finally managed to request a cancellation, I received an email (Ref: 14/03/2026 end date) informing me that I am still being forced to pay for another full month (February) as a 'notice period'. This is a clear 'subscription trap'. I have already revoked my Direct Debit mandate and will not be paying for a renewal I never explicitly agreed to.

Holy shit this franchise made me wanna rip my hair out with the amount of emails and messages I received about late fees. One months notice for cancellation, the price is f ing expensive and for WHAT?? I’m never ever joining this gym again, it shouldn’t be that hard to cancel your damned membership. If I wanna block my bank from you and stop my membership, why can’t I?? This gym is a trap that’s VERY difficult to get out of and I just paid £68 for nothing even though my fob doesn’t even f ing work anymore

I had a great experience at Anytime Fitness Chiswick. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the facilities are modern, well-maintained, and fully equipped. Highly recommend!

The studio is perfect and very clean. Great to get my workout in.
Charlie is super and manages effectively - - would highly recommend! Also love how it is uplifting our high street!

The place is clean and tidy with low numbers of users away from the usually busy times , usually someone on duty when I attend who are happy to walk you through the more complicated machines .

I have tried various gyms and this by far is the best one yet..memwbwrs of staff are really friendly and so helpful and always there if you need anything. Layout is brilliant. It’s just a perfect gym

I’ve only just joined and honestly wish I could cancel already. The gym is tiny, every bit of equipment is constantly busy, from the free weights to the machines. It feels overcrowded and not very clean.

There’s only one changing room with barely any space, and there’s never anyone around to help with anything. I even left my water bottle on my first day (my fault, yes), but no one saw it and it never turned up in lost property.

And the parking… absolutely shocking. There’s basically none. Sainsbury’s is far, and by the time you walk over you’ve already wasted 15 minutes.

Really not happy at all. I’d cancel my membership if I could, but of course that’s easier said than done.

Absolutely brilliant gym environment, super clean, wonderful helpful staff and amazing equipment. The gym is laid out so well that there is always an area to work out in. Never overcrowded and a very welcoming, friendly place to get fit. It has made my returning to the gym to improve my fitness a wonderful experience so much so I go 5 times a week! Thank you for creating such an inclusive gym, the free fruit and coffee on a Friday is also a lovey bonus 😜

Lovely staff, helpful and supportive.
Machines are easy to use (straightforward instructions, not effort required!).
I’ve only just started again, so I have a lot to do to regain fitness.

Iam extremely delighted and pleased that l joined Anytime Fitness Gym Barnstaple. The management and staff are so professional helpful and extremely knowledgeable. Iam disabled so using the equipment can be difficult but with the kind support from the staff members lam so pleased to say that it gives me great confidence and determination to achieve my goals . Anytime Fitness Acton Central is amazing. Their staff are super friendly, and the facilities are the best of the best, compared with others in the local area of Chiswick/Acton (West London). Charlie (manager) is absolutely brilliant, and was super responsive to questions prior to opening, which was great, and although not huge, the gym is really well equipped, and I'm never left wanting 'more' like I have been, before, with other gyms in the local area. Great work Charlie, and the entire team at Anytime Fitness Acton - you guys rock!

Really good experience at the Acton Central branch, so far. Joined before it even opened 2 weeks ago.
Managers are super friendly, equipment is brand new, location is convenient (right on the main street), very clean.
Really couldn't ask for more.

Excellent gym I have joined here nearly a year ago after leaving another gym in sutton staff here are always helpful gym is excellent and there network of gyms is excellent I can train were ever I am working in London 24hours a day due to there excellent network of gyms and equipment in all there gyms for an excellent monthly price

Only joined 2 weeks ago with my hubby but so far a really positive experience, a clean gym friendly clientele good facilities and great staff

Great gym with lots of equipment, friendly staff, and the app has a lot of help on there (eg puts a gym plan together, and how busy the gym is). Nice mix of students, working professionals and elderly people.

Exelent gym equipment-perfect for people that are not flexible with the time.
