Found these guys online and decided to drive the 100 miles from my home in East Sussex up to Sudbury to have the wetbelt changed on my 1.0 ecoboost. Adam and team were very helpful and responded to my online queries promptly. Job completed in 24 hours - kept me informed of the progress of the job throughout the day. Considerably cheaper than ANY garage quoting near my home. Would highly recommend and will be visiting them again in 4-5 years to get wetbelt done again!

Excellent service, the guys at Approved engines fitted me in very quickly and did a top quality job at a very good price.
Will definitely go back when MOT and service is due.

Complete nightmare

Bought a recon ecoboost engine from these guys, they left a timing gear loose resulting in the engine lasting only a matter of miles before a cam correlation code came up

Really difficult to get any kind of response regarding warranty work, having to jump through so many hoops

They refused to cover it under warranty despite proof / pictures, offered £300 good will refund... never received that ether

Had to spend £800 at a local ford specialist to replace wet belt and associated cam gear parts

The company is very quick to invoice you and send out engine which was very well packaged on a pallet with the engine wrapped inside and was in a secure crate along with all the relevant gaskets .
Once the old engine was ready to go back again one call and it was picked up very smooth and efficient operation.
I did have a problem with the engine which was sorted by a call and a warranty claim which was paid in full.
Well done approved engines for a quick and professional service.

Warning Warning ⚠️
Ordered and paid for a ford 1.0 ecoboost rebuild kit.
After many phone calls and emails they finally sent an email back saying that it was now sent they would email the tracking number, total lies.
I've tried contacting them 4 times since and every time promised a callback with update. Never got 1.
I've now asked for a refund , I wonder how that will go
Honestly people stay well clear of this firm.
They have now replied to this review and for them in super quick time.
Unfortunately they have sent an email stating the order is cancelled but refund not issued, and it has not been issued.
Although they still say the order is with DHL but no tracking.
These people have no clue.
I have now received a refund.
If the goods now arrive I will pay them and remove this review, if the review is still up there is no parts.

Totally agree with Nathan Llewelyn.
1 Ltr eco-boost engine ordered and paid for 22/03/24, delivered 12/04/24.
Fitted by reputable local garage, all parts cleaned, checked and replaced if necessary.
Garage advised on slight oil leak from timing cover and a rattling noise coming from the engine when running.
Mileage on engine swap 111833.
Collected 19/06/24.
Engine suffered a catastrophic failure which resulted in god knows what damage and a large hole in the crankcase.
Mileage on engine failure 11913.
Yes! 80 miles.
I'm not here to get into an argument over inferior workmanship and their apparent poor regard for private customers, but to advise you to spend your hard earned cash somewhere else.
Any attempted claim is met with a barrage of well rehearsed and scripted denials of any possible fault on their part.
They hide behind a rigid and thorough warranty, that if followed to the letter (which it has to be) will add many hundreds of pounds to your garage bill, added to your cost of initial purchase.
Do not use this company! save your money and shop elsewhere. It is not the good deal it appears to be.
You have been warned!

Bought an engine and it was playing up after fitting so I rang up to ask a few questions for my mechanic and was treated like I was demanding a new engine?
Wouldn't use again....ever

We are automotive repair shop and we get all our engines from Approved engines.
Engines are always delivered propmtly with all additonal gaskets and very well rebuilded.
Top Service , profesional and return process is very easy.
Highly recommended.

TERRIBLE SERVICE DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!!

Brought a 1 litre eco boost engine with 6 months warranty and in exchange the old engine to be returned. Engine was fitted by a professional registered garage, to find the head gasket has issues on the new engine supplied. Called the company approved engines following the claims form, to be told the warranty is void.

They are now trying to charge me the surcharge fees, after calling them and explaining it’s ready for collection. Also explained this over email.

Absolute scam.
