Warning: Defective product and highly questionable handling
Ever experienced this?
A product arrives defective – and in the end you have to pay for it?
Contradictory statements instead of a clear solution?
That is exactly what happened to me here.
I purchased a product from this seller which already had a clear defect upon delivery. It was not properly assembled and was not usable as expected.
I documented the issue immediately after unpacking and reported it. Nevertheless, my complaint was not handled in a clear or fair manner.
Instead of properly fixing the issue, I was offered a solution that was later suddenly described as a “special service.” This was not communicated transparently beforehand.
For this so-called “special solution,” I had to bear the costs as the buyer, even though, in my understanding, in such cases the seller should cover the costs of remedy.
The communication was inconsistent throughout. Statements changed over time, which I found difficult to follow and gave the impression that arguments were adjusted afterwards.
After contacting the Verbraucherzentrale, I was informed that this type of situation can be considered at least questionable from a legal standpoint. The Verbraucherzentrale is Germany’s public, independent consumer protection network. If you don’t live in Germany, you can think of it as a mix between a consumer advice bureau, a watchdog, and (to some extent) a legal advocate.
Summary:
* defective product upon delivery
* no clear and fair resolution
* inconsistent statements
* cost claims not justified in my view
Based on my experience, I strongly advise against ordering from this seller. A high level of caution is warranted here.
