Cant give them a 0, so its a 1 star. They had a crazy rental agreement they hid until after I had paid. They weren't very honest with me. In my opinion they seem like a terrible company.

WHY IS THIS COMPANY STILL ALLOWED TO BE…
WHY IS THIS COMPANY STILL ALLOWED TO BE AROUND? Wish I would have read the reviews! Absolutely terrible experience at the Applebear cabin through Aunt Bug’s Cabin Rentals.
I spent over $1,200 for a week-long stay and honestly feel like I wasted my money.
The shower water never got hotter than lukewarm the entire week. After a long day, I expected to be able to take a hot shower, but apparently that was too much to ask. Instead of fixing the problem, management tried to blame it on me by suggesting that using their nasty-looking jacuzzi tub somehow caused the issue. The shower remained lukewarm for the entire stay, so their excuse was obviously worthless.
The jacuzzi itself looked like something I would never want to get into. It did not appear clean and certainly did not inspire confidence that it was being properly maintained.
The coffee maker leaked everywhere. Their solution was to replace it with the cheapest, most useless replacement imaginable, which didn’t even have a proper filter basket. That is not a repair—it’s a joke.
The cabin didn’t even have basic silverware. A vacation rental charging these prices should at least provide enough utensils for guests to eat a meal without having to improvise.
The bed was cheap, uncomfortable, and felt like it belonged in a budget motel rather than a cabin costing over a thousand dollars for the week.
What really pushed this experience from bad to awful was the customer service. Once it became clear they were not going to fix the hot water issue, customer support gradually stopped responding altogether. No meaningful assistance, no accountability, and no compensation for a major problem that affected the entire stay.
Aunt Bug’s was happy to take my money, but when it came time to address legitimate complaints, they disappeared. If you enjoy cold showers, poor maintenance, cheap furnishings, missing basic necessities, and customer service that ghosts you when something goes wrong, then Applebear may be the perfect cabin for you. Otherwise, save your money and book somewhere else.
dream weaver cabin #1527
Once we got checked in to dream weaver cabin#1527 in Gatlinburg to relax a bit we noticed the bed sheets and pillow cases had crazy amounts of dog hair and bugs in the bed. We knew the cabin was pet friendly. Which isn’t an issue. The issue is when you spend $500 dollars on a house for 2 nights you expect clean sheets. They did resolve that issue. There is black mold growing in the bathroom. The indoor jetted tub has massive duct tape in the bottom of it. We were told it was safe to use, but it looked disgusting and unappealing. Every Airbnb home I’ve stayed at provided some sort of hand soap at least this one did not. If you like bright lights shining in your face while you sleep, the broken bed is positioned perfectly for that. I so desperately wanted a refund to just get a hotel, that would at least provide you with complementary coffee. I’d give this zero stars and I hope everyone saves their money. Stay somewhere else. I’ll say they did offer us a different cabin…if we wanted to travel to a different town that wasn’t part of our vacation plans and destination.
Cabin of Terror!
Cabin of Terror!! We stayed at the Evening View in Pigeon Forge with Aunt Bugs to celebrate my birthday from 12/19/25- 12/24/25 and it was a NIGHTMARE! No hot water entire stay, Bat flying around cabin, floor in living room caving in, bathroom door with only shower won’t shut, had a spider in inside shower curtain while showering, Bugs crawling on us at night in the bed and flying around room, bugs in our clothes/ luggage and road to cabin so steep and dangerous it was terrifying! They offered us a discount to come back why would I ever want to experience that again?
Waste gas fumes for the entire visit

We have found several Roaches in the cabin. The outside could definitely use some TLC clean up. It sinks in the middle bad.Didn’t use the hot tub smelled strong like bleach!! This is the Cabin called Creek Song #166 in pigeon Forge
The cabin smelled from sewer gas

Family Vacation
We had the same type of experience several years ago with Aung Aunt Bug's Cabin Rentals, LLC. They are not hiding their name because there were a ton of "bugs" alive and dead in the cabin when we checked in...! Pictures looked nice but almost nothing was the same when we arrived. It was beyond nasty! Most of the kitchen appliances were so old and outdated they didn't work. Live naked wires were exposed in the kitchen from a broken electrical cover missing. The temp in the fridge would not go below 55 degrees so we lost all our food we had bought for a week. The beds were horrible, and all sheets were missed matched. The carpet in the bedroom was so old it had rolls throughout. We called as soon as we checked in around 4pm and were told someone would call us back in a few minutes, that never happened. I called again the next morning and was told the same thing. I waited until lunch and still nothing so I started calling every 30 minutes until I was told someone would come out and look at all the problems but never did. We asked for compensation for all the issues, and they refused. We left and they still refused to do anything about it, so I contacted my credit card company and provided all the info and pics, and they suggested I dispute the charge. I did, they fought it but they lost, and I was refunded the full amount. The only REAL way to know about things like this is to read their revies because they do not lie!
Disgusting Cabin
We stayed at 1728 Summit Way, excited about our vacation to the cabin. This was the nastiest cabin I've ever stayed in. There were mouse droppings in the pots and pans, hot tub was disgusting and slimy, the broken toilet, dishwasher smelled like fish, pictures were misleading because items in the advertising photos were not at the cabin. The linens were stained, and the bed was dirty. We found dirt and other items under the dresser that were from a previous renter. We ended up eating out the whole time because the dishes were disgusting. We sent pictures to customer service, and they informed us they would come clean the cabin. We returned to the cabin, and nothing had been cleaned. I contacted them again and was told they could send another cleaning crew out to clean the cabin and I said no because you had the chance the first time I called. I don't go on vacation to clean someone else's mess and lack attention to detail with cleanliness. I followed up with the customer service team after returning from vacation because they said they would forward the information to the management team. They informed me since I refused to let them come out and "clean" the cabin, nothing can be done.
Aunt Bug's Cabin Rentals
On July 17th, I rented a cabin through AirBnB in Gatlinburg Tennessee. It was listed under an owner so I thought I was renting through an individual. However, that was false information as I received a call after the rental process was complete from Aunt Bug's Cabin Rentals. The cabin belonged to them but was not advertised that way. I chose the cabin because I was traveling with young children and it offered amenities I needed for them. In its listing its advertised as having a screened in wrap around porch, internet and arcade games which were key selling points for me. When we arrived, the front door knob was literally hanging and unattached. Upon entering the cabin, I quickly discovered the photos posted in the listing, were false. The furniture was in horrible shape and not what was depicted in pictures. Cabinet doors were falling off and literally in the floor. Bugs were everywhere. The screen to the porch is not existent. There are no arcade games. There is a cat on the property and cat hair all in the bedding and furniture. With a kid with an allergy that is a problem. The internet never worked. The air conditioner was spotty. I tried to contact the business and host immediately and neither offered any help. I couldn't find any other lodging for my family of 5. We stayed the night reluctantly, and went out the following morning. At some point a cleaner or maintenance man came to the cabin (without our knowledge) and took our carbon monoxide detector that we brought from home (we have previously experience carbon monoxide poisoning and always travel with our own detector). Now Aunt Bugs refuses to acknowledge their horrible conditions, and refuses to return our property that was STOLEN. I have called multiple times and never get any response from them. I am out almost $700 and a horrible vacation and am dealing with a company who is scamming people left and right with false advertisement.
Horrible
Horrible ! Our cabin wasn't even cleaned. There was a condom wrapper under one of the beds and the sheets were dirty . The pull out bed in the couch was horrific. Blood stains a crumbs all over it . The shower upstairs had a hairball the size of a quarter laying in it . The hot tub had not been cleaned . No chlorine and gritty sand that could have been calcium buildup . Then to top it all off the dryer didn't work 2 knobs were off of it so we had to hang dry and I've got pictures of all of the this and videos . My husband made them aware of this and the only thing they said is they'd let someone know . We will be contacting booking.com as soon as we return from our vacation. This was just gross and totally uncalled for . Won't ever book with aunt bugs again .
We stayed at Moonshine 1611
We stayed at Moonshine 1611, and I can confidently say I would never recommend Aunt Bug’s Cabin Rentals to anyone. I regret not trusting my instincts after reading the mixed reviews—lesson learned.
This was a last-minute detour for our babymoon. We were in Florida and decided on a spontaneous two-day trip to Gatlinburg. I came across this cabin online, and based on the photos, it didn’t look too bad, so I booked it. But from the moment I hit "confirm," I had a bad feeling. I started reading more reviews, and honestly, they were alarming—but nothing could have prepared us for what we actually experienced.
We arrived around 10:30 PM on Friday, April 4, 2025, tired from the long drive with our small dog. At first glance, the cabin looked decent and relatively “clean.” But things went downhill fast.
I went to take a shower, and while the shower itself didn’t seem dirty, I noticed BUGS in the sink. We were exhausted, so we tried to settle in for the night. That’s when I pulled back the comforter and saw the sheets—they were filthy. It looked like they hadn’t been washed at all. Disgusted, we decided to sleep on top of the covers instead.
A few hours later, while my husband was asleep, I started hearing noises. At first, I thought it was coming from outside. But the sounds got closer and clearer—until I heard something messing with my dog’s food bowl. I turned on a flashlight and woke my husband. That’s when we saw it: a huge rat (or possibly a giant mouse) coming out from under the couch and heading toward the dog bowl.
I was in complete shock. I immediately called the after-hours number—they were zero help. I called multiple times, and each time I was told someone would call me back. No one ever did. The only response I got was a vague text saying they were “trying to reach management.”
By 12:30 AM, we had no choice but to pack up and find a hotel for the night. The next morning, I called and spoke to a man named Steven. I explained the situation, and he actually said, “There are no rats in Tennessee.” I was stunned. I told him, “Look, I don’t care if it was a rat, mouse, or some other giant rodent—it shouldn’t be inside a cabin I paid over $600 for.”
Eventually, he called me back to say they would issue a refund. But then he added, “It’s normal to have a mouse or rat in a cabin—just like how it’s normal to have scorpions in places where they’re native.” That comment nearly sent me over the edge.
To sum it up: this place had bugs, dirty sheets, and rodents. It was completely unacceptable. Aunt Bug’s ruined the last part of our trip, and I will never book through them again. If you're considering staying here—don’t. Stay far, far away.
Emerald Lights #203 Cabin Gatlinburg
Emerald Lights #203 Cabin Gatlinburg
To begin, photos on website are old and deceptive. The living room floor was completely destroyed with deep scratches. The main fireplace was very old and hard to get running, the pool table dirty but that was the least of anything. There was a major plumbing leak in the upstairs bathroom that dripped and wet into the downstairs kitchen every time we bathed. The cabin was not ready at 4pm check in and I am sure they gave it to us without cleaning the downstairs floor. It was filthy! Both beds smelled like the comforters and pillow cases had never been washed. My grand daughter got bitten by bed bugs or an allergic reaction to filthy sheets the first night and my daughter in the other bed the next night. This ruined our vacation since they had to be medicated with Benadryl. Someone came the second day to address the fireplace. They were not able to get in because our 5 lb dog was downstairs not in a kennel. In their defense I’m sure they would have fixed the major pluming leak, washed all the bed sheets, checked for bed bugs and cleaned the whole downstairs floor while we were out.
Would not recommend Aunt Bugs and…
Would not recommend Aunt Bugs and especially would not recommend “Around The Bend #239”. Would rate it a zero if I could. The place is very outdated and in no way resembles the description on Aunt Bugs web site. First off, after a long drive I was looking forward to a soak in the hot tub. The tub was only half full and 52°. Description did not mention that game room was around outside and down a flight of stairs with no lighting, very dangerous. The bathroom in the basement has a major code violation in the breaker panel. In addition, there is a foosball table but there were no foosballs. The photos show an overhead projector in the basement game room but sound doesn’t work. In addition there were only 3 chairs so a whole family couldn’t sit anyways. Photos on website show a bunch of chairs. Two of the bedroom TVs didn’t work. Doesn’t matter because internet is so slow, it is continuously freezing anyways. They sent a guy around who got one of the bedroom TVs working but the other one is not even a smart TV. Guy said that Aunt Bugs would get back to us but they blew us off. For what we paid for this place we are HIGHLY” disappointed. The couch was filthy. Behind the couch the air return grate was covered with sticky dust. Opened it up to check filter and found one that was too small so useless at filtering. I’d hate to think how dirty the comforters are, yuck. They look 20 years old. They left us ONE garbage bag. Sorry, but not going out on Christmas Eve to buy garbage bags. Not one potholder in whole kitchen so we had to use towels to handle hot items. There were no food storage containers or anything to store leftovers in. A very poorly stocked cabin. I will leave as many reviews as I can to warn people away from this outfit and “Around the Bend #239”. Since making this mistake I have found many negative reviews on the internet. Spoke with "Customer Service" which was futile and somewhat adversarial. STAY AWAY FROM AUN'T BUG'S CABINS AND STAY AWAY FROM "AROUND THE BEND #329".
Twice is enough
Last year we stayed at a cabin that was unacceptable. The cabin was in horrible shape in Brothers Cove. Filthy oldest cabin in there. I called and complained. I then asked them for a better cabin this year 2024. The cabin was very nice. Yet the sheets on the master king bed had hairs of every kind in them. We had to wash the sheets to get in the bed. There is a real discrepancy between housekeeping and management. Look for something else with another company.

Do not stay at Pinnacle Pool View Lodge…
Do not stay at Pinnacle Pool View Lodge #628 OR ANY OF AUNT Bugs Cabins. did not like nothing about this property it was the worst vacation home I ever stayed in. It was filthy no WiFi and no AC .i addressed issues with management and they did nothing. There were broke items in the home , dead bugs, and spiderweb’s everywhere. It had a horrible smell in one the bedrooms that we could never get rid of with carpet freshener, Lysol or air freshener. I would not recommend no one to rent these cabins the theater never worked because there was no WiFi and management did not care. I could not enjoy my vacation because of the constant calling I had to do about the issues. When I complained to booking because I wanted my money back they lied to booking saying the we broke items so they wouldn’t have to refund. They are a fraud!!!!! If you see any good reviews trust and believe it’s from them are their family…..STAY AWAY FROM AUNT BUGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't stay at Mountain Hideaway through…
Don't stay at Mountain Hideaway through Aunt Bugs !! I swear the cleaner simply walked in, hung new towels and left !!! The cabin is disgusting! Mold on shower liners and all over bathroom floors.. toilets were dirty, floors never swept or mopped ! Cobwebs on everything ! The furniture hadn't been dusted in a long time ! The Owners need to take responsibility for their filthy cabin also !! The cabin needs a major deep cleaning. And the furniture is filthy, and very uncomfortable! We had to wash the bedding because the sheets were full of hair ! I have felt grossed out through our whole stay! If you want a CLEAN cabin, rent through Cabins for You or Timbertops. I cleaned her for 10 years and they demand their cabins be perfectly clean !!
I rented a cabin from a third-party…
I rented a cabin from a third-party which involved this company. I ran into a situation medically with having some severe heart issues. I reached out to the company and asked if they could reschedule my time. It took it took two weeks of getting the runaround to finally find out that they would not. There was nothing that they could do or would do you know there again wasn’t looking for a return of my money just a scheduled date when I was feeling better.
