Very Slow and Unreliable
I ordered a travel system and several accessories from the BabyDocShop in Limerick in February but worryingly didn’t receive my order until the first week of May. This caused a huge amount of unnecessary stress and anxiety at the end of my pregnancy as I genuinely wasn’t sure if the order would as arrive before my baby did.
Communication was extremely poor throughout the process. After weeks of emails with little progres I finally managed to speak to someone over the phone and interestingly the buggy was dispatched that same afternoon. This was very frustrating after such a long delay. The isofix arrived 2 days before I went into hospital.
I also had to request refunds for some accessories because my baby had already arrived and I needed to repurchase essentials elsewhere.
We’re constantly encouraged to shop Irish and support local businesses which I always try to do but based on this experience I would be much more inclined to shop with a larger, more reliable retailer in future. Unfortunately, I wouldn’t recommend the BabyDoc Shop to anyone based on my experience.

The fact they will take an order for a child's car seat knowing the toddler needs it because the other one is too small and not deliver on time leaving the parents to purchase elsewhere wasting money or risking the child's safety is abhorrent. I would never buy anything from this shop again. Ordered an item with an expected delivery of 4-5 weeks. It’s been over 10 weeks now and still no delivery. The customer service is dreadful, they don’t send any updates on your order and take days to reply to emails. When they finally respond it’s just to kick the can down the road with another expected delivery date which has again been missed.

It's very simple - Do not buy anything from this store. You are effectively signing up for weeks of stress and misery. My wife and I placed an order at the end of March and were told it would be delivered in 4-5 weeks. Total confidence from the staff in the store with no indication of any potential delays. A month later I emailed asking for an update, to which I was told that there were some delays, apologies etc etc. After multiple emails, phone calls and two visits to the store we were given only vague timelines for delivery. Not what you want to hear when baby is due in the coming weeks. We were in week 7 by this point... This adds totally unnecessary stress in what should be an exciting time. Eventually our patience ran out and we cancelled the order which they were happy to do. It's not a good sign when staff agree with your decision! We went with another Irish retailer for our buggy, car set etc and they arrived within 48 hours! There is something fundamentally wrong with the business model here. Babydoc clearly don't order the items from their distributers until orders are received from customers, leading them wide open to delays and unforeseen circumstances. They should not be advertising delivery times of 4-5 weeks when they, based on the countless terrible experiences from customers, cannot adhere to them. I feel sorry for the staff who are trying their best.
Items not delieverd
I ordered an Uppababy travel system on the 14th of march, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable on the day giving good insight into the purchase and product in the shop so I will give one star for that. I paid in full and was given a date of delivery on the week of the 13th of April, with no contact on delivery I reached out on the 16th of April to enquire was all in order and got an email on the 16th that the ‘head of queries’ was on annual leave. I was emailed again on the 17th and was informed there was a shipping delay until the end of April. With no delivery and no contact again I emailed on the 27th of April to ask what was the update and was told the delivery is delayed again and now would be approximately the week of the 11th of May, with no update during this week I emailed again and was told there was still no update that the order had not arrived yet, with that I asked for a refund.
I would never buy from Babydoc Shop again but if you are order months in advance as I am now due a baby at the end of May and now have to order a travel system elsewhere. Communication was non existent until I contacted them, the service I have received from the Babydoc shop is extremely unsatisfactory and has added stress to a time that should not be
€3000 in babydoc and no delivery
We spent nearly €3000 in babydoc, bought and paid for in early March 2026. Our baby is arriving by C Section in 6 days and despite multiple emails and calls babydoc have still yet to dispatch our items, it seems everyone else is having the same issue with them. I would recommend avoiding them at all costs. Order number 27883
Ordered a rocking chair for the nursery…
Ordered a rocking chair for the nursery 2.5 months ago with a delivery timeframe of 2 weeks after purchase.. no sign of it.. emailed them.. it'll be another 2 weeks.. no sign of it.. baby is due in 10 days and got an email to say it'll be another 3 weeks.. We chose to support a local Irish business, how ye continue to get away with this is insane based on all the reviews I now see online ,people cant even speak to anyone on the phone because ye wont answer. Social media posts on Facebook last posted in 2024 , accounts abandoned due to negative feedback in relation to delivery timeframes and honesty... Address the massive issues you clearly have and stop taking peoples money promising this and that when its a lie. Now while we wait to get a refund for a chair we ordered 2 MONTHS AGO.. We have to fork out another 380euro for the same chair from another baby shop. To the business owner's, shame on ye. People crying out to support local businesses and when they do you treat them like this.. Grow a pair of bollix and address the issues ye have and seem to have had for a while now, and stop preying on people who have enough to be dealing with than chasing ye for stuff they have paid for..
Order our buggy
Order our buggy, Car seat and co sleeper back in November 2025 for delivery for the 13/04/26. Had no contact from the shop untill I inquired as there was no sight of our order. I have now been given three different excuses on why my order hasn’t arrived 4weeks from the original delivery date.
Their customer service is awful not responding for 48hrs or calling when asked to speak to someone. Due our baby this week and still no sign of everything we need. Company had no problem taking the money but a problem to actually send you your products.
Couldn't fault it .. everything was 100%

I ordered a car seat for pre order on the 14th March and I still haven’t received it in May. I was informed it would be ready for dispatch between 4th April - 18th April. I have tried contacting them via phone to speak to a real person and all I can do is leave a message. I have tried emailing them and I’m just getting automated AI emails back. I made a big mistake ordering from them and I won’t ever do it again. Terrible customer service. I wouldn’t recommend.

I wouldn’t recommend this company at all! I’ve been waiting weeks on my order and I keep getting either fobbed off or completely ignored. It’s extremely poor service, if an order is delayed that’s fine but at least communicate with customers effectively.
Worst customer service!
Worst customer service!! Paid for a double buggy in January to be delivered just before my second baby was born, had the date to be delivered the last week in March, it is now 4 weeks on and still no sign of the buggy. I’ve been constantly emailing to see where it is and what’s going on, response is very poor and only replying to me every second day, every time I ask for a phone number they literally ignore and won’t give me a number to ring so I can sort this situation out straight away instead of taking 4 weeks. The last email they suggested we request a refund, they decide to say this 4 weeks after the confirmed delivery date?? Will not give us any other option, still haven’t offered to give us another double buggy that is in store ready for collection and I asked could I get my buggy collected from the shop and they said no, why offer a delivery service if they can’t keep up with it.
They clearly don’t care about leaving you and your babies without a buggy and only care about the money they are getting. Imagine leaving a mother with 2 babies under 2 without a buggy that was organised and paid well in advance so it would be here for babies arrival. Also explaining to them that I just can’t go out and pay that kind of money on another buggy because my original one isn’t here. It’s absolutely disgraceful and such poor service and lack of sympathy for customer. I’m still waiting to hear from somebody about where my buggy is and I will be bringing this further if I don’t receive any information or my buggy soon.
Buyer beware: false delivery timeframes
I ordered a nursing chair on April 7th, shown as in stock with 3–4 day delivery. No delivery arrived and no communication was sent, I had to chase them to find out what was happening.
When they finally replied on 16th April I was told there had been a "technical error incorrectly showing stock on hand" and that I'd now need to wait 4–5 weeks. This delay directly clashes with our baby's due date, the entire reason I ordered when I did. I could well be in hospital with my wife if it even arrives.
What makes this worse is that as of today and every day since ordering, the listing on their website STILL shows the item as in stock with fast delivery, the exact same false information that convinced me to place my order in the first place. Nothing has been corrected.
I sent follow-up emails looking for answers and received no reply whatsoever. No response. No product. No accountability.
As a parent-to-be, this experience has been genuinely stressful at an already demanding time. I've since had to initiate a chargeback with my bank and filed a formal complaint with the CCPC.
I would strongly recommend looking elsewhere for your baby needs.

Same as all 1 star comments. Saying 4 weeks delivery no communication then when we dare to follow up after 4 weeks you just get a plain automatic "template" email and then another cancellation email. Extremely poor service. No wonder why Smyths Toys making a fortune. Your newborn will do Leaving Cert when you receive item from this shop.
Very disappointed with experience
Ordered and paid for a cot online. It said the delivery time would be around 4 weeks, which I thought seemed quite slow but I went ahead with the order anyway. Aside for some random automated emails, had no word on its whereabouts for a month after ordering. After the delivery time passed I tried contacting the shop by phone which was impossible, and by email. I got some apologetic responses saying that they will "get back to me with updates" for a number of weeks until finally I received an email (6 weeks after ordering) that the cot had not arrived from England and would be another 2 weeks at least before it could arrive. Really disappointed with all aspects of the experience but particularly the customer service. They were difficult to contact and really didn't give me any information at any stage. Currently in the process of getting a refund which I'm hoping won't be as long or problematic.

Amazing experience, from the min we came in-store, unbelievable experience with the girls in the Limerick store! Nothing was a bother, and all my silly questions were answered.
Ordered all our baby items, and even got a bottle of Noseco, leaving!
My whole order all came within our agreed time frame. The quality of the items is amazing. The support team is so good.
Would highly recommend them to any expectant parents! Definitely the best!
