We had an incredible 3-day tour of the Scottish Highlands with Balmoral Executive Travel, and we honestly couldn’t have asked for a better experience. From the moment we were picked up in Edinburgh to the smooth drop-off at our next destination in Grasmere, everything was seamless.

Derek, our driver and guide, truly exceeded our expectations. Not only is he a wonderful, kind, and incredibly accommodating person, but he also took the time to get to know us and tailored the journey to our interests, leading us to some of the best sights, food, and hidden gems along the way. He even made sure we saw a few special spots as we left Edinburgh, which was such a thoughtful touch. The entire trip felt well-managed and thoughtfully planned. The team was super responsive and helpful setting up the trip and Derek genuinely elevated our experience. Highly recommended!

Our itinerary was well worked out, with a good mix of history, landscape and culture. The weather was variable, often wet. Yet we all came away happy, eager to return to see more of Scotland. The key to it succeeding was our driver guide, Donald Allan. His lightly-worn knowledge, personal kindness and flexibility ensured we derived maximum enjoyment and an understanding of Scotland, especially the Highlands. This tour was certainly one of the very best I have been on.

Skip the group tours and hire Balmoral. You won't have any regrets. We hired for the day and created a custom tour with the help of our guide/driver Ewen. During the day we flexed our schedule to take advantage of the sunny weather. The flexibility with a private hire is worth every penny.

From the start of planning the customised tour of the Scottish Highlands & the Isle of Skye with Paulina to the tour with Mark, the experience was beyond our expectations.

We felt safe "at every turn" with Mark as we travelled in comfort, being enriched in the history and heritage of the region.

Mark's personality and own interest in the region added a magical quality to the experience that is rare to find.

Balmoral Executive (now Timberbush Tours) helped me set up a relatively last-minute private tour for me and my family (visiting from the U.S.) from Edinburgh to the Scottish Highlands. Communication was via email with Charline, and it went very smoothly. I listed the places I was interested in, and Charline was able to create an itinerary for my review, as well as help me with some revisions to it. Our driver Derek picked us up at our hotel right on time, and he couldn't have been more personable, knowledgeable, or flexible than the was. It was a pleasure to spend the day with him.
The Mercedes van we were in was very comfortable for the 5 of us, and we got to enjoy some mini detours that would not have been possible on a large-group/big bus tour.
Definitely check them out!

Balmoral Executive travel did an excellent job of creating our private personalized itinerary with our preferred sights. John, our tour guide, was wonderful and knowledgeable. Showed amazing hospitality and was very accommodating. He spoke on the amazing history of Scotland and offered best tips for making the most out of our trip. We were able to see everything we wanted and also suggested great shopping and dining advice. Definitely highly recommend this company for any and all tours. Ask for John!!!

We went to Scotland to see Taylor Swift and wanted to see the Highlands the week before the concert. Keith was our driver and just the best! We immediately felt comfortable with him. He more than tolerated the eight year old, her questions, and sass. We saw the Isle of Skye, which was beyond gorgeous, among other things. Keith entertained us with stories and history. Alex scheduled the tour for us and made organizing a dream. We raved about Keith and Balmoral when we got back so much that we had people ask if we actually even saw Taylor in concert! Balmoral does a fantastic job!

Hilary was on time, extremely friendly and very knowledgeable. Vehicle was clean, comfortable and Hilary drove very safely.

Great experience right from booking a private tour with Charline to going in the tour with Chris. Charline was very helpful and prompt with all her responses. Chris was great with explaining some history of Scotland as we drove out to the highlands. He was patient and very good overall. Would definitely recommend and do it again.

Balmoral was the perfect tour company for our two days touring castles near Edinburgh. Chris was a wonderful guide. He was knowledgeable and had great stories about Scottish history. We had Gillian as our driver. She had chosen some perfect music for our drive as we headed through the countryside into the highlands. We had perfect weather and she was very informative about the terrain and the history of the area. We had good comfort breaks and stopped at great spots for pictures. She was very engaging and an excellent driver. When we were ahead of schedule, she took us to some off-the-track sites that she thought we would enjoy. Overall a wonderful experience!!

We had a wonderful time on our tour. Our driver Chris was a wonderful and loveable driver and guide who told us a lot about the history of the Highlands and the people who live there. We felt absolutely safe all throughout the tour. Chris tried to fulfill all our wishes and requests and tried to make everything as flexible as we wanted within the itinerary. We loved the nature of the highlands, Sterling Castle and the Loch Ness boat tour. Also Alex, who helped us with our itinerary, was a great support and we are delighted with the service, the efforts to fulfil our wishes and the professionalism of Balmoral Executive Travel. We sincerely thank Balmoral Executive Travel and Chris for making this great experience possible, it will remain in our memory for a long time.

Our driver/guide was the absolute best! Not only an excellent driver but historian and entertainer as well! We were so sad to have to say good-bye at the end of the trip. His fund of historical knowledge was absolutely incredible!! The countryside of Scotland is beautiful and the people of Scotland the most kind and friendly folks, but Keith is what made our trip for us. We could never thank him enough for making our short stay in Scotland so memorable.
Charline with Balmoral was also so wonderful and easy to work with. She was always prompt to reply to any questions or concerns and had some wonderful advice and recommendations regarding our itinerary. We initially had been working with another tour company, however when they dropped us just a few weeks prior to our trip, Charline with Balmoral was our lifesaver!

We were happy and satisfied during two days tour of Outlander and Loch Ness. Everything was smooth and accordance with the itinerary. Alex and Derek really helpful with our itinerary and during the trip. Make our trip were memorable, really recommended it.
