Tried to open an account an app after 1 hour on the phone. i gave up. High interest sounds great but not with that amount of hassle.

Honestly so disappointing with wait times to talk to anyone. No branches and phone waiting is unbelievable. Don’t sign up with them .

Customer service has massive attitude. The most incompetent amd inconvenience bank I ever encounter! Was just on the phone for almost 3 hours total and zero outcomes! I totally agree with most people here saying they are a bunch of amateurs! I just wanted to opened a bank account but somehow unable to do so as I don't give them enough verification and proper identification. I even went through AU Post to verify my ID but they literally don't want to accept that, so stupid

Disgraceful customer experience.
Terrible communication. Zero explanations.
As an existing customer with a substantial deposit, I was unable to get approval for credit card.
Not sure what their target market is. I am an;
- Existing customer with a decent account balance
- Self funded retiree with decent Super balance
- No debts
- Own 2 properties
Explained that I just needed a new credit card to replace a HSBC platinum card as HSBC is pulling out of AU retail market.
I provided all the information required and explained my reasoning for a credit card from my chosen savings bank.
Useless responses from customer service staff Steven Garnett and Miranda Radunovich with just an email saying Not Approved.
Tried to have a common sense discussion with the banks GM Customer Growth, Alison Rear and got no response or even acknowledgment of my request or concern. I would have thought that a GM for Customer Growth would also have a KPI for customer retention. Clearly not. I have now moved my deposit to Macquarie bank.
CBA clearly skipped the due diligence on the customer service and retention when they purchased Bankwest.
Stear clear!

Can I give zero stars. I opened an account with Bankwest yesterday and had a little trouble but not insurmountable. Today my wife tried to open an account and was unable to. Tried different browsers and the App. Phoned their help line (available 24/7). No help told to phone back Monday when someone will be able to assist us. No will not phone back will simply close my account and go elsewhere.

To change my daily payment limit I had to wait 1 hr and 39 minutes on hold! Appalling service! And the Complaints staff are disgustingly smug and no help at all.

Just joined this bank today. First phone call wait time 35 minutes to have the bank representative mute the call so I couldn't hear anything and then hung up on me. No call back either and I am sure they use called ID. Makes me wonder if I should just shut the account already as I'm not putting up with crap phone service from a digital bank.

Simply the worst bank I’ve dealt with ever! I tried to transfer $12000 to a commsec site to pay for shares, after I was informed the transfer would take 3 days ( the money had to be there today). I rang the bank and an hour later was told nothing could be done to get the money across today. You would swear it was their first week of operation and I was dealing with some work experience kids.AVOID AVOID AVOID.

Would rate 0 stars if possible. Most unethical and non-communicative team ive ever dealt with. Stay as far away as possible from them. Took over a month of applications and endless hours of work, phone calls and ID and financial verification for a credit card they offered to be conditionally approved and then told i wasnt able to be approved and gave no reason and told me they can not give a reason. Made me verify my identity 3 seperate times, they now have records of my income, tax, identity and address for no reason at all. Their website is clunky and not straight forward and feels scammy, you spend hours applying for a card and then they dont outlay what actual product youll be receiving at the end (if you make it to the end) Their phone service is horrid, spend hours on hold only to speak to a customer service rep that ‘can’t share information’ or can’t help at all. ACCC should investigate. Now im going on a holiday after over a months work of applying for a specialised international credit card with 0% international fees and complimentary insurance, without the above items. Do not use them, it seems im not the only one with a horrible experience.

I wholeheartedly agree with the long wait for phone calls to be answered and the bot that answers the questions on the app is totally useless.
I was referred to a staff member I was told by the bot but I could not get them to understand I cannot see my current charges made to my card and by what merchant.
I can see the last few days and what my balance left is and current amount owing but not who has charged and was the amount correct.
Setting up the credit card was the most painful experience I have experienced and I was about to give up. I asked for someone to call me to explain exactly what they wanted but they do not speak with the customers I was told. Who do they think pays their wages, the Bank or the customers providing the bank with the business.

My partner tried to open a savings account with the bank. Strike 1 was not being able to provide verification, something we had no issues with with other banks. Strike 2 was being locked out of the app, such that the only option offered was to call the Bankwest number. Strike 3 was being on hold for 57 minutes, only for the call to fall out. Strike 4 was when we did eventually get through, we were told that because the call was made by me with my partner conferencing in, my partner had to call again on her phone. Seriously? We decided to invest our funds elsewhere. We have no confidence that should issues arise in the future, we will be able to address them.

Had to make an online payment where I wasn't sure of the security of the. Website. I generated a single use card number from the Bankwest app protecting my real credit card number. It was so easy.

APPALLING customer service and no apologies nor acknowledgement of issues. I have been a business and personal customer since the R+I days and have had enough of being treated so poorly.

Calling Bankwest is a definite fail. No one will take your call no matter how many hours you wait. Terrible service !
Probably best to get rid of this Bank as it’s definitely not looking after its customers.
Hire some staff to answer the phone !

Great interest rates, but that's it!
Hopeless banking system, I encounter problems all the time, from absolutely ridiculous and insecure SMS only verification - which doesn't work overseas or in black spots (numerous in backward Australia).
App doesn't generate security codes!
Tried to set up a recurring payment - not possible because first payment day is ahead of today.
Asked their in app chat and they just couldn't understand the problem. Cannot think beyond their narrow box I suppose.
Payments are very difficult to make.
App shows huge interest rate details covering the screen and you have to scroll down mile to find actual transactions.
They are very amateur.

I paid $320 annual fee to join Qantas World credit card and 10 months later they just change the terms of the card so i don't even get 12 months of what i paid for. The new terms offer about 1/3 of the points and I'm meant to just accept that? Isn't that illegal to sell something and not provide what was sold?

I had my property in Melbourne CBD secured for a small loan from BankWest (acquired by Commonwealth bank now) in 2002. Paid off in 2006, and got property title, but there is a mix up with the discharge from BankWest. Recently, I have contacted them many times to fix it via calls, emails, I also filled in another discharge form; but there's still a delay with unknown reason, unknown time frame. I do not think it is a good idea to financially deal with a disorganised bank.

What went wrong !!
Multiple accounts fraudulently opened in my name for the purpose of financial gain .

What they did to investigate ???
Nothing, it seems the criminals have more rights than the victims

What you should do ,,
If you're really going to take the risk with dumping your money at Bank West
Make sure to put them through the stress test first, ask questions, anything you can think of,
And make the bank sign your fine print and agreement , what plans in place when disaster takes place .

I called for help for an easy setup which app's functionality is severely lacking. But I can feel the phone service lady disregarding and neglecting as like the entire bank is about to collapse. I am so worried for my loan and planning to transfer.
