Waste of space dealership

Do not use this dealership for anything, not even a cup of coffee. I have purchased over 30 new cars in my time and Never Ever been treated so poorly, I walked around the showroom for over 20 minutes before anyone even noticed me, when I finally spoke to someone the whole experience was the worst you can imagine from the incorrect car details emailed to me etc etc. I wrote to the manager explaining my dreadful experience but surprise surprise nothing has been resolved, this dealership is a total waste of time. I am now going to write to BMW customer services, be warned stay away from this dealership!!

Be aware

Historic information:

Unfortunately, extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with their level of service. Approximately 6 months ago my husband took our Mini to the dealership for an MOT - everything seemed fine and we paid for the MOT and came back with a certificate. It turns out that it was the wrong certificate and apparently our car had FAILED the MOT due to some cracking in the wall of one of the tyres. So when my husband called them few weeks ago to book our car to be serviced, we were told that the car did not have an MOT!

So we took the car back, did the MOT and had it serviced. When my husband drove the car home, it started overheating and a red overheating warning light came up.

During the service the fan belt was replaced and we strongly suspect that whoever fitted the new fan belt did so incorrectly causing the water pump to fail and that therefore the vehicle was not in a satisfactory state when my husband drove it away - AGAIN.

After a catalogue of errors and bad customer service they should own up to it and cover the cost of fixing the car. We have already had enough - we had a car without a valid MOT fox six months and now this.

We have now been contacted and the problem has been resolved to our satisfaction. Thanks for getting in touch.

Terrible experience from start to finish

Terrible experience with the service dept from start to finish.

Firstly, I booked the appointment on their website but was later called to say there had been an error and the appt was no longer available so I had to re-book for another day.

Secondly, I asked them to look into an issue that had been raised as an advisory on the MOT. They said that there would be a £175 charge to investigate even though the issue was blatantly obvious - rip-off!

Thirdly, they sent through the inspection video at 5pm (I’d dropped off the car at 8am) saying it urgently needed brake pads, even though it was too late to fit them at the time. I double checked the car service requirements on the onboard computer when I picked up the car later, which is showing as green and not needing to change for another 3200 miles.

Finally, the car wasn’t ready to be picked up until 5.45pm. They said the delay was that the car was being cleaned. When I did pick up the car it had not been cleaned inside or out.

I would definitely not recommend Barons…

I would definitely not recommend Barons stansted in bishops stortford (see Facebook for pictures) unless you want your car coming back looking like a crocodile handbag & arches like something Fred in the shed done - I would take elsewhere!! To top it of along with all the other problems after 2 attempts at correcting (pics are 2nd attempt) we were accused of modifying the car... luckily we asked for proof & other than it was their personal opinion - which going by the repairs I wasn’t happy with!! We went through covea who were also useless & will be taking it further for the rest of the money owed to us original estimate was £2400 - but apparently you can have the whole side of your car fixed there £1100 when it came to the payout 🤣🤣🤣 👍

Bad customer service from Barons Bishops Stortford.…

I have used this Dealership for 5 years, mostly its been ok service. But this time i was not impressed at all. Booked a service 6 weeks in advance so i could get a loan car to carry on working. All booked fine. The day before my booking they ring me telling me my loan car is No longer available, so i can either cancel the booking and re book or sit and wait for the car. As the car is already a week overdue i could not wait, so took the day off work and went to site and waited for my car. So now costing me time and money. Not good customer service!. Service took just over an hour what was good. But when they came to give me my keys to my car they did not advise me where my car was parked. Normally its in the car park just outside, but not this time, so had a look around then went back into the showroom to ask where my car is parked. Then told its in the overflow park at the back of site. Why not advise me before sending me out in the cold to find it myself. Sorry crap service and now i will try a different BMW dealer as the money we pay this company to service our car, i expect far better. And even with this Bad review they did not reply, so just confirms there service has gone downhill.
