I had an extremely disappointing…
I had an extremely disappointing experience with Batik Air.
I booked Business Class for a long-haul journey from Labuan Bajo to Jakarta, continuing with Emirates to Dubai and Düsseldorf. Unfortunately, the service provided by Batik Air was completely unacceptable from start to finish.
The Business Class check-in counter in Labuan Bajo was closed, meaning I paid for a premium service that simply did not exist. Online check-in was also impossible due to repeated error messages on the Batik Air website.
To make matters worse, the flight was moved earlier, resulting in a 9-hour layover in Jakarta. Despite this disruption, the staff refused to find any solution to check our luggage through to the final destination. This forced us to exit the airport in Jakarta, collect our baggage, and go through the entire check-in process again.
Because of the schedule change, lounge access is effectively lost, as check-in will likely only open about four hours before departure.
The two staff members at the Labuan Bajo counter were particularly unprofessional—constantly yawning, unhelpful, and unwilling to assist in any meaningful way.
Overall, this was a complete failure in terms of service, organization, and basic customer care. I would strongly reconsider choosing Batik Air, especially for any trip involving connections or premium class bookings.

I think even Germany would have been proud of how strict they are with their lugage policy, while charging abnormally high prices for check in luggages.

I would give a minus if I could , cancelled my return flight from kula lumpa to Perth , leaving myself and my family over 9 hours at the airport, turning this into a night flight. No apology . My seat and my wife’s seat were broken, most uncomfortable flight I’ve ever taken , I’ve flown over 200 times and this is the worst flight I have ever been on, kept the light on for most of the night flight , one toilet only , had 4 flights in total to and from Vietnam, every flight was delayed , no apology or anything , they couldn’t give a toss. Please avoid if you want a nice holiday .

I flew Melbourne to Bali two weeks ago…
I flew Melbourne to Bali two weeks ago and it was actually very good. We got there ahead of schedule, the in-flight meal was tasty, and the staff were very nice to me. What are people expecting from a discount airline? I will fly with them again. The only reason I'm not flying Batik back to Aus is because it's an overnight flight. Maybe the bad reviews are bots? I have no idea but they do not reflect reality at all

The airline's customer service is really bad, there is no possible way to directly contact them online expect email which they take so long to reply to, i am suffering to get refund on my flight. The seats of the airplane are really uncomfortable aswell,

They sceduled the flight for after etihad leaves!!! No support no reschedule correctly no refund! Who runs this terrible operation?
Total waste of time link fron Eithad too. No results or action to correct major mistake changing a connecting flight making me arrive after my plane leaves!!!
Worst customer care ever
Worst customer care ever! They won't reply to your email and if they do, it will be after ages. You can't call them and their AI Agent does not help with your queries, rather will request you to send them an email. Wonder how an airline operates with such a bad customer care service. My rating will be a "ZERO" if it's possible.

First of all today the pilot made us a scary descent to the Jakarta airport but this time the flight was at time !
But not the baggages! Over 45 minutes to get them ! Of course I missed the next flight (I had 2 hours transfer) needed to book another flight more expensive and of course the customer service asked me to return to the previous terminal , the chat does not even reply properly and so on

I’m posting this so other people don’t go through the same ridiculous situation I just went through.
I tried to change my flight from next week to TODAY because of an urgent situation. There was clearly availability showing on the website, but the website kept giving an error with no explanation. On mobile, the site just kept redirecting me in a loop so I couldn’t change anything.
Then I tried to contact customer service — but there is NO WAY to talk to a human. I contacted the Kuching office and asked them to help me contact Batik Air, and Batik Air told them to tell me to contact them via email, feedback form, or WhatsApp chatbot. The WhatsApp chatbot then told me to go back to the website to manage booking… THE SAME WEBSITE THAT DOES NOT WORK.
So I called the Perth Airport office. First, they kept insisting I booked through a travel agent (I DID NOT and I repeated this multiple times). Then they finally checked and told me there was no availability — even though on my screen there clearly WAS availability. Then they told me I cannot change the flight on the website… SO WHY IS THERE A “CHANGE FLIGHT” BUTTON ON THE WEBSITE?
So let’s summarize Batik Air’s system:
• Website doesn’t work
• WhatsApp chatbot tells you to use the website
• Office tells you to contact KL customer service
• There is no way to call KL customer service
• Airport staff refuse to help
They just send you in circles until you give up.
One of the Perth staff even told me I was being “unreasonable” and then pretended the phone call dropped. Absolutely unprofessional.
Never again. If you value your time, money, and sanity — avoid.
Rude flight attendant
I have chosen Batik Air many times for domestic travel, as it is one of the few airlines that operates flights to HLP Airport. However, this was the first time I encountered a very rude flight attendant. First, he skipped our row and did not offer bread until I called him. At first, I assumed it was unintentional. However, my second experience was more concerning. When I went to the restroom, he waited outside and asked, ‘Sudah disiram, Bu?’ as if I were unfamiliar with how to use the facilities. I hope Batik Air can provide better training to ensure their crew treat passengers with professionalism and respect.

Despite all the negative reviews, we had good experience with Batik Air. The staff were nice at check-in and at borading as well. There was a 1 hour delay it's true, but for us this is not a big problem. Everything went well.

DISASTER !!!
Passengers were boarded and then suddenly forced to leave the aircraft with no explanation. After that, we were left for hours with no communication, no organization, and essentially no assistance from the airline.
The “hotel solution” they provided was completely unacceptable, with unsafe conditions and not even enough rooms for all passengers. Many of us had to return to the airport and sleep there because there was simply no real accommodation.
Meanwhile, airline staff disappeared and were nowhere to be found while passengers were left to deal with the chaos alone.
The flight was then delayed again, leaving people stranded for nearly two days.
On top of that, they broke my suitcase, connections were missed, and their refund system doesn’t even work.
This airline showed a shocking lack of responsibility toward its passengers. I would strongly recommend avoiding it.
Beware of delays causing cancellation - with 80% fee
Booked for 2 of use, flight delayed twice, so would miss connecting flight. Rang & cancelled, all fine, but they didn't mention there was a 72% cancellation fee!!! Never again considering they had ample time to re-selll our tickets

Super unhelpful and stingy
Wouldn't accept my debit card to purchase anything on the flight. The attendant also wouldn't serve me water without payment. Had to beg another passenger to get a bottle of water for me. Terrible service.
Pay peanuts get monkeys
The on-board entertainment system did not work. On a 6 hour flight.
They did not accept any of my cards so I could not get anything to drink or eat.
(Same card I used on all my other flights)
My chair was broken and was constantly moving.
Glad it was cheap or I would have been disappointed.
Worst budget airlines
Flight delayed and I missed the connecting flight to Australia. And above all, the flight did not compensate me at all. Worst experience from a solo traveler perspective. Not recommended for international travelers
Nie wieder Batik air
Es geht um einen Flug von Kuala Lumpur nach Langkawi mit Batik air. Ich habe das Ticket vor fünf Monaten über KissAndFly gekauft. Mir war bewusst, dass aufgegebenes Gepäck nicht im Ticketpreis enthalten ist, aber ich hatte normalerweise die Möglichkeit, beim Check-in 24 Stunden vor Abflug zusätzliches Gepäck zu buchen und zu bezahlen. In diesem Fall dauerte es fünf Stunden, bis ich einchecken konnte und feststellte, dass es keine Möglichkeit gab, meinen 20 kg schweren Koffer im Voraus zu bezahlen. KissAndFly selbst erklärte mir nach fünf ausgetauschte E-Mails, dass man mir nicht helfen könne. Auch Batikair bot mir keine Möglichkeit, das Gepäck im Voraus zu bezahlen, obwohl ich fünfmal auf dieselbe erfolglose Option verwiesen wurde. Schließlich musste ich am Flugtag selbst zum Flughafen fahren und 166 Euro für 19 kg Gepäck bezahlen – für einen einstündigen Flug, dessen Ticket nur 32 Euro gekostet hatte.
Für mich geht es in diesem Fall um regelrechte Bandenkriminalität seitens der Fluggesellschaft Batik air, die mir nicht die Möglichkeit gibt, mein Gepäck im Voraus zu bezahlen, und mich anschließend erpresst, das Fünffache des Ticketpreises für das Gepäck zu bezahlen, und um die völlige Verantwortungslosigkeit des Unternehmens KissAndFly, das etwas verspricht, was es nicht halten kann.
