My husband bought a car on the 11th July 2026, car broke down 3rd August 2026. 24 days later with timing belt or crankshaft failure confirmed by AA(un drivable)
Phoned the dealership they told us to take to a garage to get a quote.
We requested a full refund as our right in the 2015 act, providing the AA report . They refused and said that they would pick it up and inspect it with no reference to a refund. We replied no we want a full refund as our right, we had lost confidence in the serviceability of the car. No response, my husband is without a car and no way of getting to work, if he doesn’t get to work he doesn’t get paid, also has personal problems with family over 100 miles away that he needs to attend every week.
This is a catastrophic failure of the car, I would have expected some response immediately due to the severity from a company that is approved by the AA

We have just spoken to the Manager today, and have stated that they will inspect the car before considering refunding although this is illegal.
His justification for this is that he has to confirm that the broken cam belt wasn’t our fault, saying that it could be our fault they way it has been driven, to ensure the oil is correct etc. How can the oil or indeed anything not be right after 24 days of being sold was is supposed to be serviceable. The manager was very patronising to think that we would believe this possible, what he doesn’t realise is that we are aircraft engineers, and know a bit about how engines work.
This company is signed up to the AA and has not followed their basic requirements.

We purchased a car for my son. Within a month engine problems. They lied said their inspection record was fine. I took to a trusted mechanic he said there no way. The said you pay for diagnostic report. We did. They then stopped answering and responding. Cost us 1400 to repair will be making a small claim through courts. AVOID at all costs. Their mechanics and them are all corrupt.
