As someone with a chronic illness, Believe was transformative for my life. I don't have to worry about appointment availability, I'm able to travel, and I always have access to my doctor whenever I might need something.

It's unfathomable to me that we are still living in a world of appointment-driven healthcare when a simple text or video call is possible and so much more effective and efficient.

I am just over three years into my journey with Lyme/Coinfecitons, and the most impactful thing I have done in the last three years was join the Believe Health platform and begin seeing Dr. Ozdemir for my treatement. It wasn’t until then that I realized how much of my efforts in the last three years were ineffective with other “Lyme Practitioners”.

There are many doctors who are intelligent, and some who have written terrific books on Lyme and autoimmune issues, but that is not a strong indicator that their patients will get well, or do so quickly and sustainably.

The reasons for this became clear to me over these three years. Principally, I had been attempting to use an antiquated system of patient care to address a new kind of health issue. This represents a defective system that doesn’t work. Autoimmune cases cannot be readily cured by simply taking a pill that a fancy doctor with a big famous name gave you. I tried this. Nor are they easily addressed using old fashioned treatment methods that are often built on doing everything through appointments only, or maintain a traditional view of Autoimmune cases. NO MORE....New problems need new solutions.

The mercurial nature of autoimmune cases demands readily available lines of communication between the doctor and patient; this is vital to making consistent progress and was not possible prior the inception of the Believe Health platform. Dr. Ozdemir and the Believe Health platform could have saved me years of struggle had I been aware of them at the start of my Lyme treatment. Maybe I could have even avoided two years of spinning my wheels with doctors I couldn’t get a hold of, medicines that didn’t work or made me more ill, and a perspective of personal disempowerment that placed the burden of healing on someone besides the patient. The Believe Health platform and Dr. Ozdemir have made these issues things of the past through the unprecedented level of access I now have to my team.

After just four months with Dr. Ozdemir using the Believe Health platform, I am already 30-50% improved. This had never happened with my three previous doctors, and I was with some of them for 12-18 months.

Without the sort of communication infrastructure that the Believe platform provides, the brilliance of most any doctor is rendered ineffective, because this sort of treatment must be 100% about the patient, not the doctor’s plan. Treatment plans often do one thing... change. Without access to the patient, how can the doctor be aware of the patient’s progress or challenges in real time.

Believe Health is the tool that allows the patient and doctor to be meaningfully connected via in-app texts and phone calls In a timely manner. It has proven invaluable for my case.

It took me a while after singing up with Believe Health to get out of the mindset of having to make appointments with my doctor, but once she was proactive in sending me text with tips and notes on my needs I loved it. Kids love to see their doctor via video almost as much as they like to see their grandma. Plus it saves me tons of time not having to go into the doctors office for refills or appointments. Believe Healths gets an A+ from Mom!

When my younger kids were sick I lost allot of personal and sick days with my employer. When my physician joined Believe Health I was able to do most of my sick visits via text and even FaceTime video a few times. Having the Believe Health now for almost a year I couldn’t imagine having to go to a traditional doctor again and make office visits. So happy and saves allot of stress and headache.
