Benwick Sports Angling Centre Reviews 

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from this company. My friend emailed them very politely asking a question and got a rude blunt response. When she Responded stating that this was rude, she was called an abusive name and sworn at. I wish I could post the screen shots on here. Vile company.

Great service as always, purchased tackle online and in store, never had any issues. Fantastically stocked with everything you will ever need.
Staff have always been polite and willing to offer advice.

The only reason I have given 1 star is because there is not an option for zero and we did receive the item ordered, I have had 3 messages from Benwick via PayPal each of them as rude as the previous message, I hope they treat any prospective customers better, will never use or recommend them.

Never had an issue with Benwick's and am surprised at the negative comments .

Well I can only talk about my experience with Benwick sports, I was waiting for an order which should have taken a couple of days to arrive, I rang benwicks and spoke with Laura, she contacted the delivery company, e mailed me with there reply, the goods turned up the following day

Bunch of incompetent unprofessional people. My entire first order was cancelled. Reason? "Details failed to match" What details? "Cannot tell you this is security reason" WHAT? Worst customer experience I ever had. No worries will give business to someone else who knows how to treat customers and fulfill their orders. Total disaster and waste of time!!

I bought a reel a few months ago and until recently had not used it however on it's first outing found it to be knocking. I spoke to Preston Innovations by Facebook who advise di should return it to the seller (it was well within it's one year warranty) and so i spoke to the seller, Benwick Sports.

I spoke to a female at Benwick Sports on the first occasion who seemed completely disinterested and sounded as though i'd caused her a major inconvenience by having to have a conversation with me. I advised of the reel symptoms and asked if i could simply return the item and have a replacement sent - she said no, almost making it sound like i was trying to 'pull a fast one'. She advised that i should return the item with a covering letter and so this is what i did.

Once the item was sent, I called again to check it had been received (it had, Royal Mail said so) and once more they weren't forthcoming.

Long story short, the reel is back with me (yet to be tested) but all of their correspondence was short, to the point and generally lacking in any customer engagement at all - i'm not wanting to be asked how my day was, but i'd at least appreciate it if your colleagues sounded like customer's weren't spoiling their day. The reel was sent to the incorrect address, even though the new address was clearly specified in the cover letter sent with the reel - thankfully my local posty is a legend and intercepted the reel (correcting Benwick's mistake).

Oh, and obviously I had to ask for my postage refund... I presume they had forgotten to do this until prompted.

I'll be avoiding this one, instead opting for the superior service of Bob Co Tackle (and even Fishing Megastore).

Following the owners slanderous counter review/reply in google, my perspective of this company is now worse than ever. Accusing myself of lying, whilst they lye doing so…

All 8 items that I struggled to find elsewhere were delivered at the same delivery price as a small parcel. Delivery took less than a week (inc bank holiday). Very please that after reading other reviews that my order went so well. Many thanks.

I have been waiting nearly 10 days now for a small order shipped on the 3rd June. As some of my deliveries have been lost recently I contacted Benwick-sports for the tracking details. I can definitely say that the bad reviews on here are well justified. A horrible person that needs to get off his high horse and to add to matters his website says articles shipped abroad are VAT free.... strange cos my bill shows VAT was charged.
Oh yes, he closed my account too

Been a customer for over 10 years and was very happy . However this is the first time I have received faulty goods and the customer service is appalling . They wanted me to return the quite large item in the post at my own expense with no promise that it would be replaced. Very unhelpful and bad attitude . Needless to say I will not be using them again and finding a local firm who appreciates my custom .

Made two orders over the course of a weekend, asked customer service if i could get a refund on one delivery and combine them. They quickly responded , refunded me one delivery and i received all items on the Tuesday well packaged.
Recommended.

There is a statement on their web site stating company and customer policy signed by an Andy Crane, what a joke Mr Crane.
The reply I had back from a query about an order I had placed was unbelievable. This company does not deserve to be in business and eventually it will catch up with them, sooner before later.

To be fair the order arrived prompt. However the order was missing some items. I have had no response from any emails.

This is the reply that I got this morning from Benwick Sport Angling Centre.

I still have not received my goods and will look to escalate matters if the they do not arrive this week. Obviously money has been taken, goods have not been delivered and my account now closed by the supplier.

Therefore this is dishonestly, appropriating, property, if the goods do not turn up. Then that will be with the intention to permanently derive. Under those terms that will be theft. I will under those circumstances report the matter to the appropriate authorities.

Email from Benwick Sports this morning at 0700hrs 240920

“Go away you stupid little man.

Any moron who even looks at trustpilot needs their brain checking as only ##### (derogatory word) put reviews on it.

I have closed your account.”

Secondly this is a public order offence designed to cause alarm, harassment or distress. On the latter I am distressed due to this person, conduct, behaviour and lack of business acumen.

Ordered a couple of items from this fishing tackle store two weeks ago and it took days to just ship. 7 days later from their estimation the items have still not arrived. When I reasonably adked them to check where the items were they just sent a Royal Mail tracking reference which was useless and unhelpful. Went back to Benwick for their help and they just sent back the same reference - they are totally disinterested and unhelpful.

Bearing in mind they are only dealing with online orders I seriously wouldn't bother as they have appalling customer service. Save your money and avoid frustrations with dealing with people.

Service is dire, their attitude even worse, they will lock you out of your account if you complain, they are rude and arrogant the worst tackle shop I have had the misfortune of dealing with, save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere there are plenty of good tackle shops to choose from. It really is as bad as it gets, and then some

Received some items from this shop and was surprised as to the condition of four of them very disappointing.

Worst customer service I ever seen, they ask you for 50 pounds to receive a "better" treatment in relation to other customers, the only thing I asked them was if it was possible to ship my order to my country in less then 15 business days, this is their answer:
"Hi
If you want special treatment and to bypass our current queue of orders then we can do this for an extra £50.00 as this is only fair if you are expecting to be treated better than all our other customers.
Let me know."
I didn't asked in any e-mail we traded to be treated better than the other customers, their service is the worst ive seen in my 39 years of age!
I have proofs if needed to validate this review!
