I did a pottery lesson at Blackheath Pottery with just 2 of us in the class. The surroundings of the Pottery are beautiful but the main reason for the 5 star review is Babs, the potter.
Babs is welcoming, cheerful and patient. She was also very encouraging - even when faced with a shortage of natural talent in her pottery students! She made the whole afternoon a very enjoyable experience.

Simply wonderful. Stunning pottery. Extremely friendly service. Will certainly be coming back for more.

Booked for a Christmas present for family members. They had a fantastic time and two of them have been before, they love their trips to blackheath and can't wait to return

Babs is an absolutely amazing teacher! I completed a six week beginner course along with three friends. I knew absolutely nothing about pottery and had no idea what to do. Babs taught me everything patiently, kindly and with lots of positive encouragement! Every week, we learned something new and had plenty of opportunity to try it for ourselves. At the end of the course, we walked away with our very own handmade pottery!

Babs is a warm, kind instructor. No judgement. Hands on help when you need it. You feel free to experiment. The four of us who took the classes together want to do it again to practice more of what we’d learned and try more things! I’d recommend it wholeheartedly. ☺️ Oh yeah, it was loads of fun 😄

It couldn't have been a better day. Friends and fun with a whole lot of creativity. Babs is not only a lovely smiley person that makes you feel happy just to be around but also exceptionally talented. I'd definitely go again 😁

Babs and her family were perfect hosts extending a warm and friendly welcome for an afternoon painting class. She made everything so easy and made everyone relax. It was a perfect way to spend a time with friends in a wonderful location. I thoroughly recommend everyone to visit Blackheath pottery.

I love the elegance of the design with its light and fine lines, and the delicacy of the colors that Babs chooses for her creations.

We had absolute wonderful time on one of the workshops making porcelain Christmas ornaments, me and hubby was with 3 children and they all had fun too. Will definitely recommend to anyone looking to do something interesting and family friendly.

It's a charming place,we had a nice relaxing time and fun.Very friendly and welcoming definitely will be back sometime next year

Simple the Lady that owns and runs the business,was just so pleasant and friendly,we all had a great giggle as we designed our mugs and painted them..one of those days we will look back on with smiles and thoughts of memories made..

Excellent tuition in a well equipped studio with a very happy atmosphere.

Our group of 4 ladies had such a good time learning to make pottery and decorating a mug in the lovely rustic looking workshop. Babs was a great teacher as none of us had ever tried this before (Of course she made it look so easy!). She was extremely patient and helpful while being friendly and chatty at the same time.
After our pottery making we stopped for coffee/tea and the most beautiful scones with jam & cream and brownies!
We then went back to the workshop to decorate our mugs under the watchful eye of Babs who again helped us if needed and gave lots of encouragement.
Our glazed and fired pieces (included in the price) will be ready to collect in the next couple of weeks, which we are looking forward to seeing.
It was such a great way to spend an afternoon and we would highly recommend it.
Tip : Wear clothes and shoes you don't mind getting splattered with pottery clay or dirty water! Definitely don't wear the new white adidas trainers you just bought (one of my friends).
