Wish I had read these reviews sooner. Contact was unresponsive when promised same-day delivery window passed. Order arrived late with substitutes that were not approved. When “customer service” was finally reached they refused to accept accountability for the mistake and instead made excuses for the items being reasonable substitutions! Wild. Offered zero compensation for wasting my time. Furthermore attempted to garner sympathy about being a small business and having a family to feed as if their mistake wasn’t taking money out of my own families pockets 6 days before Christmas to fix their mistake. Save your time, go big box.

In this case, the items shipped were equivalent alternatives, not intended as unapproved or inferior substitutions. That said, we understand that substitutes — even reasonable ones — may not be suitable for every customer or situation.

Regarding timing, while we always do our best to meet same-day or expedited delivery requests, holiday volumes and courier constraints can occasionally impact delivery windows. We regret that this caused frustration.

Deceptive policies and terrible customer service

According to their own policy, it says "if the return is a result of our error, your item will be eligible for a full refund including the shipping charges (if any)."
Beware as they don't follow that policy. It's been a back and forth this morning after they sent me the wrong item (a cheaper item at that) and are only offering to ship the replacement or charge me shipping for the initial order not meeting the free shipping threshold. It's their mistake and I won't have the time or means to accept the right product being shipped as it was intended to be a gift (for a specific date) and I'm leaving for vacation. They've been quite combative via emails that this is the only resolution they're offering despite the fact that their website says otherwise. Why are they in business if they can't read their own policies?

In this case, we did acknowledge that an incorrect item was sent and immediately offered to resolve the issue by shipping the correct item at no cost, which is our standard remedy for fulfillment errors.

Because the replacement shipment was declined on your end due to timing and travel constraints, the resolution shifted from a correction to a partial return without replacement. In those situations, the original order is recalculated based on the items ultimately kept. When the remaining order total falls below the free-shipping threshold, the original shipping cost is no longer waived. This is why shipping was discussed — not as a penalty, but as part of how refunds are calculated when an order is altered.

At no point was there an intent to substitute a lower-value item, and we regret that this experience didn’t align with expectations, particularly given the order was intended as a gift.

We appreciate the feedback and will continue refining how we communicate these situations more clearly in the future.

4 Stars - Pricing was Fantastic!

Pricing was Fantastic!

I was in the market for some new hair products and wanted to try some higher end ones and BlendBox had a great sale. Pricing was Fantastic so I purchased 4 items. I gave this rating a 4 Star because the shipping took 1 Week - I was hoping to get sooner. Other than that the product, and pricing was Fantastic! One product was no longer in stock and a Refund was issued automatically within 2 days. No having to call, email or track down the refund. Very professional. I was very pleased with my experience.

I’ve ordered from BlendBox three times…

I’ve ordered from BlendBox three times since July, ever since I had the pleasure of meeting the owner. I used to buy all my hair care products from Sephora, but not anymore. I will always prefer supporting a local Toronto (and female-owned) business that truly cares about quality products and offers attentive customer service. Highly recommend!

Poor customer service, but not a scam.

I ordered two items for same/next day delivery on Oct 7, and by Oct 16th there was no sign of order fulfillment. I had tried to reach out via online chat and email (on Oct 14th and 16th) between my order date and the 16th without reply.

I did hear back later in the day on the 16th, confirming my order should ship shortly. I did in fact receive my items as ordered, although quite late (this was not same/next day shipping). One thing to note - the items I received were not sealed, there was neither sealed packaging around the item or a seal on the bottle, which I did find odd. When I ordered this item from Amazon, it was sealed in plastic wrap. Otherwise the items seemed fine.

I have updated this review on 12/5/2025 to reflect that my items were delivered. 3 stars as the item was delivered, although very late + very little communication and unsealed (but I dont know if that is normal or not versus Amazon).

Fraudulent Company - Selling Expired/Altered Products

I would strongly caution anyone ordering from BlendBox.

After receiving Kevin.Murphy shampoo and conditioner from BlendBox, I became concerned about the product quality. I took the bottles to an **authorized Kevin.Murphy salon retailer** and compared them directly to in-salon stock. The differences were obvious. The colour, texture, and consistency of the products I received were noticeably different from the authentic versions on the shelf.

The salon staff confirmed that the products I received did not match what they sell as authorized retailers. They also advised that, in their experience, issues seen with some online sellers can include diverted stock, improper storage, dilution, or other forms of product compromise. While they could not verify BlendBox’s supply chain directly, they were clear that what I brought in did not resemble standard Kevin.Murphy product.

Separately, I received confirmation from Virtue Labs that a Virtue product in my order was expired.

I contacted BlendBox promptly, provided batch numbers, photos, and all requested information. I was initially told they would investigate and provide distributor verification. After that, communication stopped, and weeks later I was told to “continue the conversation with the brand” instead. No return, replacement, or refund was offered.

BlendBox enforces a **no-returns-under-any-circumstances** policy, which is highly unusual in the beauty industry, particularly when expired or questionable products are involved. There are also numerous similar complaints online describing expired products and lack of resolution.

Between the expired Virtue product, the confirmed inconsistencies with Kevin.Murphy products, and the refusal to provide transparency or remediation, I would not purchase from this retailer again. The fact that they have a zero return policy should have been my first red flag.

Shop local they said.. this a type of company that gives local business and canadian business a bad reputation! DO NOT SHOP!
They promise a quick dispatch and 4 days later i am cancelling the order because ..
- first email to them went out 3 days in, because there was no update on the order.
- first response was that they will ship that same day, again followed by no tracking
- then came more emails from my end, trying to get them on chat, calling their number .. with no answer to any.
- 1.5 hours after starting the chat conversation finally someone got back to me .. telling me that my order will be shipped tomorrow .. and not same day service, so i will only receive my order in another 4-5 days.
- very quick to cancel the order though.. i guess they're not really interested in business, followed by a lot of attitude and snobbishness when i tried to provide calm feedback and asked about the details of my refund. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE ATTITUDE.

All in all, surprised they havent gone out of business yet!

Unresponsive customer service

It took 2 emails, 3 phone calls and over a week for me to finally reach someone who told me that they’d oversold the stock on what I’d ordered. At least the refund was processed quickly and without any argument.

Buyer beware

Buyer beware. I ordered the GHD Duet Style 2-in-1wet and dry flat iron and received the wrong product (GHD Duet Blowdry) on May 12th. I paid extra for express shipping because I needed the item urgently.
Despite repeated attempts to contact BlendBox customer service via email and phone over the past few days, I have received absolutely no response or resolution to this issue. This level of customer service is unacceptable. I am still without the correct item and out of pocket for both the product and express shipping.

No shipment and no response

I have ordered from then twice before and was very happy , fast shipping and great price, no issues. This time I ordered on Dec 20th 2024 , its now Jan 16th 2025. Nothing shipped , they took my money within seconds but I have had no response from my attempts to reach them , 6 times I emailed or tried their chat and zero response.

If you have any issues or concerns with your order, they will ghost you. Emails, calls, online chat, through the shop app, etc. Impossible to get a hold of until the return window is over. The best part is they were responding before the word refund was brought up. I've tried contacting them multiple times, had Purolator ship items back (never arrived at my house) and still silence on their end. Calling bank today to dispute the transaction. Childish, and horrible customer service.
