I can’t recommend Bluelight Consultancy enough. The support, insight, and development they’ve given me throughout the police recruitment process has been genuinely invaluable.

From the beginning, they made everything feel a lot clearer and less overwhelming. The 1-to-1 sessions were especially helpful — really focused and tailored to me, helping me improve my answers and build confidence. The group webinars were just as useful, full of practical tips and real examples that I could actually use.
I’ve recently passed my final police interview, and I honestly don’t think I’d have got there without their support.
If you’re going through the process, I’d definitely recommend them.

Bluelight Consultancy has been exceptional from start to finish. My mentor, Andrea, coached me through my sergeant promotion boards, and thanks to her guidance I scored 27 out of 30, achieving the 2nd highest score out of 63 interviews. The one‑to‑one coaching was genuinely priceless — honest, direct feedback that pushed me to improve and gave me real clarity on how to perform at my best.
The boards process involves a panel interviewing multiple candidates who are probably all coached in force to use a similar structure. I believe that going with BLC made me stand out, my structure was different to my colleagues and in my feedback the chief superintendent explained how impressed she was with it.
The online webinars were equally valuable. Hearing how officers from different forces approached promotion topics broadened my perspective, and the speakers’ vast experience shone through in every session. Their advice was practical, relevant, and clearly grounded in years of policing and leadership knowledge.

I paid around £1500. After two sessions I was unable to join the police due to family issues. I asked for a refund. The amount they refunded me was 235.50... For a service that I barely used - 1300 quid down the drain what a joke! It almost feels like a scam after my experience with them.

I recently passed my Met Police Detective assessment with the support of Blue Light Consultancy. There was loads of information available online for each part of the assessment, which really helped me feel as prepared as possible going in. The coaching sessions were also really useful for going through interview questions in detail and receiving feedback. I worked with Jane for the OAC, Sarah M for my final interview, and also received support from Raj for the detective briefing. Each coach brought something different, but all were highly knowledgeable, supportive, and clearly experienced in what assessors are looking for.

I was changing careers at the time, and I’ll be honest — I initially felt quite vulnerable and lacked confidence. Coming from a non-policing background, I wasn’t sure if I could perform at the level required, particularly under interview pressure.

What stood out with Blue Light Consultancy was how structured and practical their approach is. They break everything down in line with the College of Policing Competency and Values Framework, and give you clear, usable frameworks rather than generic advice.

The 1-1 sessions were one of the most valuable parts for me. They helped identify gaps in my answers, refine my structure, and significantly improve my delivery. More importantly, they gave me a real boost in confidence at a time when I needed it most.

I also made use of the additional resources and webinars, particularly around the briefing exercise and forward-facing questions, which helped me better understand what assessors are looking for.

As a result of the support, I achieved a strong score in the OAC (98th percentile in the SIFT and a high overall score in the assessment centre), and went into my final interview feeling far more prepared, structured, and confident. I’m pleased to say I successfully passed.

The police recruitment process is extremely competitive, and Blue Light Consultancy will give you the edge you need to succeed. I’d strongly recommend them to anyone serious about joining the police.

I went through both the OAC and final interview with Bluelight. The resources they provide through both their website and coaches are invaluable, and I can say that the OAC resources are better than you’ll find anywhere else, same with the final interview.

My coach was Richard Fisher, who was very supportive throughout my several months with Bluelight. All of the coaches are brilliant, as you can experience on any webinar. Richard in particular helped with working out what experience I can bring to my OAC and Final interview, and developing these into structured, coherent and strong answers.

The webinars are probably the most useful resource the Academy gives you access to, both for OAC and FI. They give you the ability to hear other people’s answers, give them feedback, speak directly to other coaches, and get feedback for your own answers. It’s a positive environment to make mistakes and learn in.

The total cost for me was somewhere around £2500 - £1400 for the OAC and £1100 for the Final Interview, but if you can afford that and commit to it, it is well worth the investment in your career.

The day I have been waiting for that was once just a dream has finally arrived, and I started my training this week. I cannot recommend Bluelight Consultancy enough. The support and knowedlge from the team have been instrumental to me and I could not have gotten this far without them. I recently passed my interview for the Digital forensic technician role, and my coach Darren was absolutely amazing. He was incredibly supportive, friendly, helpful, and genuinely caring throughout the process. With his guidance, I was able to overcome my nervousness and perform at my best.
