Blueprint MCAT (Formerly Next Step Test Prep) Reviews 367

I paid ~$4,500 for Blueprint MCAT tutoring (24 hours). After completing 2 hours, we requested a refund due to poor fit/quality concerns and significant time lost. Blueprint stated their policy is to refund unused tutoring hours at $75/hour, which comes to $1,650 for 22 unused hours—far less than what we paid—and they refused to provide any per-hour/itemized breakdown of the $4,500 package. They offered a tutor upgrade instead of a proportional refund. If you buy tutoring, read the refund terms carefully because the refund method may not reflect what you paid.

My son took the Blueprint 515+ guarantee course, and it was definitely not worth it for the following reasons, and more:

- Even though he completed all materials, when we followed up with their staff, they stated that not all lessons and assignments had been completed

- They seem to be much more intent on making money, than genuinely helping people out

- When we did not get the 15 point increase that they "guarantee", they were busier arguing their case than honoring what they had already stated in writing on their site, namely, that after completing all course materials, they guarantee a refund if they do not live up to that promise, which did not happen

Although my son will be going to a medical school in about a year, many of his friends who also took the Blueprint course said the same thing that it was an "absolute waste of time" and "not helpful at all" (direct quotes). Despite being a great student and hard worker, he did everything that Blueprint stated and his score did not change at all. Instead, when he focused on the UWorld materials, it did make a noticeable difference.

Do yourself a favor and don't do business with this fraudulent and greedy company!

Gabriel and Sarah were great instructors! They always went above and beyond to help and really helped me grasp even the most difficult content. They also made class super fun! So grateful for them and this experience!

Ian and Noor were knowledgeable and inspiring. They managed to keep my spirits high throughout the class while always challenging me with content. The test-taking strategy they provided was an enormous asset for me on MCAT test day. I do wish we moved at a faster pace toward the end of the class, but I understand their focus was primarily on strategy, not content.

My Blueprint journey has been one of growth and confidence made possible through the likes of both Noor and Ian! They were amazing instructors that not only provided necessary content and strategy information, but also made it a point to boost our confidence and show that we know more than we may think!

Great overall experience with the live sessions with Kat and Ty! They are so enthusiastic, helpful, and encouraging and I highly recommend them for anyone interested in taking blueprint.

Ali is such an amazing tutor! He is so professional, knowledgeable, and patient. He has been supporting me so much throughout my MCAT studying journey. I would totally recommend him to anyone who is looking for an MCAT tutor!

Kat and Ty are phenomenal instructors! They're both incredibly smart, but also very personable, and great teachers -- very good at explaining their thought process and distilling down complex information into simple terms. They made the class so fun and I'll miss sitting in on their class!

Kat and Ty were great instructors. They both had unique ways of explaining things that complimented each other and were super great at communicating what we really needed to emphasize in our studying. 10/10

Katherine and Ty were excellent instructors. They both were very welcoming, informative and friendly. Kat would tell the class about her medical-school experience, which was greatly received by the class, and Ty would give great feedback and support about answer choices.

Overall, I am glad I’ve made the investment for BluePrint MCAT Prep and 100% will recommend this class to anyone interested in boosting your score.

Kat and Ty are really great teachers, they are able to articulate the complexity of the material accessibly and concisely — what’s more, they are incredibly validating in each lesson of how difficult this process is. They make sure we all know that it isn’t weird or shameful or unexpected to struggle or to have doubts. This course was worthwhile for that validation alone. What really helped me was their validation that people with disabilities and acvessibility needs

I feel like I have learned so much more this time around with my current instructors. I have grown so much in CARS wich has always been my downfall

Best MCAT test prep, I Had Ian and Noor as an instructor so helpful! Took almost all the stress out of taking the MCAT, and would highly recommend it to anyone needing to study for the MCAT!

Honestly, the program sucks. The videos go way too fast, the practice exams are extremely different from AAMC exams and focus too heavily on content as opposed to reasoning. The QBank questions are also garbage.

Extremely dissatisfied with their refund policy. I paid 1500 for this program, while studying and working full time. I wasn’t making much progress so I have stopped working so I can study for the last month and I have spoke to two people at blueprint and all they can offer is a 2 week extension? Then I have to pay $250 monthly?? I just think that’s crazy, I would recommend trying another service, maybe they’ll be more accommodating

Naveen is an amazing tutor, he helps you understand the complex details so much and he is incredibly knowledgeable. He also is great with tips for the exam itself. I don't know where I would be without him.

I went up 12 points from my first mcat before blueprint & Naveen. Blueprint really has a great format to learn all the content, but Naveen puts the hard topics in such a way to make it dummy proof. He also dedicated extra time to make sure I succeed. I am grateful for him and now can further my dream in becoming a doctor!

Naveen was a great tutor!! Always available to speak and helped a lot outside of our tutoring sessions. Very grateful for my time with him.
