I have used Botstar for a few years now having bought in on the Appsumo deal. There was a scare where users thought they were not going to honour the lifetime deal and that is why the reviews on here are so low - but this didnt happen, the team got a grip and Botstar in the main is working really well.
I would absolutely return here and change this review to 5*'s if they produced an App for my users to monitor and reply to their bots, this was promised about 2 years ago and hasnt materialised.

I can't use the life time deal they sell on appsumo , it's totally SCAM .

💀 AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE 💀

I bought 3 license codes from this company in the spring of 2021 (though I shouldn't have).

The Vietnamese startup developer behind Botstar and Chative.io defrauded his early investors, who transferred hundreds, even thousands of dollars to them through the AppSumo platform. The CEO has left the company on the brink of bankruptcy. When the SaaS launch was announced in spring 2021, the CEO already knew there was economic trouble and started developing a completely new project with his company, which was not validated. The AppSumo launch was a hype.
They did not communicate with early investor members in their FB group for more than 5 months. They promised many improvements on their roadmap but NONE of it materialized. Because they already knew then that BotStar would not be developed further.
They lied to us. On 22.10.2021 the CEO made an announcement that the whitelabel/agency construction will be discontinued and the development of chatbot automation will be put on the back burner. The main priority will be the live chat service (Chative.io). But that's not why we early investors bought this SaaS software. In company law, we call this knowingly deceiving consumers. If by some miracle you become their customer and vote them and their new product into your confidence, there is no guarantee that if this Vietnamese company goes bankrupt you will be compensated...
Do your own research. Look into the background of the company...

This company and its founder have no word. It's a total SCAM. They sold lifetime deals and now they are trying to change the name of the app saying its another app and downgrading all the previous clients. Dont trust them!

Waiting for promised updates and features for months, left out without any communication from the official team members. Excuses, apologies, new promises, after 6 months of waiting, they decided to discontinue Botstar, because they developed a new unrelated product. I bought unlimited, white-label, agency plan CHATBOT, now they are changing the deal to a limited, no white-label, LIVE CHAT. Not to mention their oops moments, like sending Botstar promo emails directly to OUR clients, behind our backs.
A team without morals, shame and capability of running a business properly.
AVOID this team for all costs if you care about your business.

I want full refund of my 32 Codes.. I didn't invest in something that i didn't use yet and need me to move to another platform with no future rights and lower limits. this is completely scam.

It's SCAM, dont trust with the company and whatever they sell.

After 110 days without any communication, Botstar announced a new product to replace Botstar. Most people are on a Lifetime deal bought at AppSumo that help them funding development, and today Botstar announced that Botstar will be discontinued in October 2022 without any further updates. If we switch to the new app customer will lose 80% of our benefit that we have purchased. Botstar is the worst in communication, disrespect their customer base, and now they want us to switch to a new scam.

The app is great, unfortunately, the company doesn't stand by their promise. I purchased the app through AppSumo for a lifetime deal, but they are not holding up their end of the deal. They just announced they are changing the app to a new Live Chat app, and part of that transition includes lessening the benefits that I purchased through AppSumo. Not to mention all the time and effort I've put in creating the chatbot through their current app (BotStar)

I can simply apply BotStar in personal and university projects.
Especially on Facebook pages, BotStar not only supports interacting with new customers quickly, but also can automatically filter and connect with existing customers.

My employees often have to answer customers continuously with repetitive questions. Now that work has been handed over to the chatbot and saves a lot of time so employees can prioritize other things.

Besides, the drag and drop feature to create chatbot flow is very convenient. Except for watching step-by-step video tutorials, I don't have to take any additional coding courses.
