Ordered a new general waist bm as ours was damaged payed £35 for this was told it would be 6 weeks for delivery had a phone call today saying bin will b deliverd in 20 weeks time totally unexpecteble service we pay our council tax on time every month if we stopped here would soon moan about it all they care about is taking money out of your pocket corrupt Bradford Council

I honestly can’t believe how poorly Bradford Council manages its waste collection and customer service. The whole system is broken and outdated. Staff deliberately act in a way showing they don’t want to help at all and treat residents like they're wasting their time. There is zero effort made to actually solve problems or explain what’s going on.

A bin collection is missed, and when you call to complain, you get bounced around with no clear answers. The staff are borderline rude and dismissive, showing no empathy or respect for people who rely on them daily. It’s clear to us all they have no communication or problem solving skills. Despicable!

If you expect professionalism, don’t expect it here. This council seems to deliberately ignore the needs of its community and make residents feel small. It’s embarrassing for a city like Bradford. I recommend avoiding living here if you want any kind of decent local service. I'll be out of here as soon as I get the chance, god willing. screw this uncivilised city...

Bradford Council is an utter disgrace. They show no pride in the services they provide and no respect for the people they are supposed to serve. When mistakes happen, even small ones, they are cold and unhelpful. There is no compassion, no flexibility, and certainly no problem solving.

The staff are rude, dismissive and completely untrained in customer service. They speak to residents with contempt and treat everyone like an inconvenience. You’re made to feel as if asking for basic help is a burden to them. They lack professionalism, basic decency and any kind of communication skills.

There is no accountability and no urgency. They pass blame instead of finding solutions. It’s shocking how little they care. This is not a council that serves the community. It’s one that works against it.

Avoid moving to Bradford if you value support from local services. The Council and its staff are the very definition of failure.

Should be no stars. The scum called Bradford council have nothing better than to penny pinch from pensioners through housing benefit and council tax reviews. Forcing me to reapply for benefits from scratch. They won't allow enough time to get information from other agencies. City of culture, city of Nazis is nearer it . I will now lose benefits for at least four weeks. Leaving me in debt for months.

A disgrace of a local authority

It is beyond belief that someone like Job Ackroyd holds a position of influence within Bradford Council as a Planning and Heritage Officer. His approach to decision-making is rooted not in fair and professional judgment but in blatant personal bias and open discrimination, bordering on racism. Despite clear precedents, input from building officers, and previous council involvement in the adjoining property, he has consistently refused to acknowledge factual evidence, making his determinations entirely subjective and unjustified.

One of the most damning aspects of his conduct is his failure to declare significant works previously undertaken by the council on the **adjoining property**. Instead of operating transparently, he has stonewalled me at every turn, forcing me to involve my local councillor just to get basic answers—a completely unnecessary and time-wasting hurdle that no resident should have to endure.

Adding insult to injury, Ackroyd claimed that despite me being forced into a boundary dispute with a neighbour, the council would remain impartial. However, he proceeded to provide a legal statement and even attended court, bringing several non-dated and highly questionable photos. The council did not provide any statements regarding their previous ownership of the adjoining property, which was acquired through a compulsive order purchase from a vulnerable relative of the former homeowner. There was no issue with the property until the new owners and their builders moved in, which has led to numerous complications, including intrusive works on my property. The fact that the council has been complicit in all of this while failing to address my legitimate concerns is deeply troubling.

Even more outrageous is the council’s willingness—within 30 yards of my home—to permit and approve the redirection of foul water drainage from two separate properties into closed pipes leading into the main sewage system, despite this being a clear violation of planning and environmental standards. Yet, when it comes to my property, the same council suddenly becomes rigid and obstructive, exposing Ackroyd’s staggering hypocrisy.

Furthermore, there is established precedent in the village of approved redirected pipes, including in listed buildings, and these have received full support and planning permission from the very same council. This blatant double standard is further backed by an Ombudsman statement confirming Bradford Council’s favoritism towards my neighbour. It is clear that Ackroyd's decisions are neither based on fairness nor regulations but on personal bias and an evident desire to favor certain individuals over others.

His actions suggest more than just incompetence—they point to a deep-seated bias that raises serious questions about his suitability for public office. His decisions do not appear to be based on regulations or best practices but on personal prejudices that have no place in a fair and just council.

Bradford Council must take immediate action to review Ackroyd’s conduct. His presence in office is a blight on the integrity of the planning department, and as long as he remains in position, residents will continue to suffer from his arbitrary, unjust, and potentially discriminatory rulings.

Bradford council parking scams. Whole areas of towns with permit parking and little signage to warn of it. Set up to specifically to deceive and create fines. It's a disgusting scam.
Visitors should avoid the area.

THEY LIE.. I PAY MY COUNCIL TAX BY STANDING ORDER EVERY MONTH NEVER RECIEBE NO WARNING REMINDED LETTERZ ETC.. BUT ALL IF A SUDDEN RECIEVED AN ENFORCEMENT NOTICES WTF. HOW CAN I BE IN DEBT WHEN YOUR EMPLOYEES HELP SET UP MY STANDING ORDER. YOUR FORCING SUICIDE ON PPL. I HOPE U ALL ROT DISGRACEFUL COUNCIL PAY TAX FOR WHAT COS RIADS PATHS ETC R A MESS. I HOPE KARNA GETS YOU.

Extortion for accedently passing through the clean air zone and not realising (I live in Devon). If you can send me a fine then you can send me a reminder to pay first.

One star is too many for this shambles. Paid for a new bin and was told 8 weeks. 12 wks later no bin. Phoned and was informed it's actually 20 wks. How absolutely pathetic, put council tax up 10% and it takes at least 20 wks for a replacement bin. The level of incompetence is astounding.

Needed help with Council tax amendments. 10 mins before getting through to the speak to someone. The lady I spoke to on the telephone had a dismissive and rude tone. When trying to provide information she was not interested and spoke over the top of me! She did point me in the right direction on the website as she did not want to help me on the telephone!

Myself and my family are in Bradford, today is the 23of February and the time is approximately 13:50 pm . My son has downloaded the app for the parking scheme, has tried to pay the £9:00, lo and behold it won’t allow him to do so. After trying several times he tried to contact whoever the app instructed him to do so and guess what, no answer . Some council scheme this. Keep out of this area, it doesn’t pay to come but it does them.

If I could have given them minus 1i would, they're useless, kept passing me round to different people, none of which knew anything! Genuinely, rude, passed me from pilla to post , even gave me the same number for different branches I'd already spoke to , absolutely incompetent and rude .

How have Bradford Council performed after just ONE day of snow?
Beyond poorly.
My actual observations:
Canal tow path gritted.
School busses running even though the schools are closed.
On the few roads that have been fortunate enough to be visited by a snow plough, all side streets blocked off by the mountain shifted to one side, only single track clearance.
IF you are lucky enough to have actually seen a gritter you may have noticed the incredibly small amount of grit being distributed.
The belt running too slowly, spinner being ineffective and the vehicle itself going too fast to actually make a difference.
Not one official road crossing has been cleared, a large pile of solid ice has to be overcome before the road may be crossed.
Not one bus stop area has been cleared, a large pile of ice has to be negotiated before getting on or off a bus.
No bin collection service, although a private company has been seen working.
What were these extra bodies doing instead?
All these omissions were proffered in the guise of safety although no consideration has been given to the people who ACTUALLY pay their taxes.
How many of these taxpayers have suffered injury due to Bradford council's ineptitude?
I really MUST ask the question.
Why do I bother to pay my taxes.
There is absolutely NO value for money.

Totally anti Landlord. If this council has housing problems then it adds to its problems (more importantly homeless and social rent level renters) by its intrusive, one sided, outdated "socialist" hatred of private landlords.
In any dispute (which they create) they take the side of the tenant - even when as in all cases as a landlord they have all been amicable and give n take until they arrive on the scene.

We moved to Bradford from Leeds 14 weeks ago. We moved to a new build and paid for the bins (80 pounds) on the first day [14 weeks ago] , paid our council tax monthly and the bins still have not arrived . At first they said waiting time up to 8 weeks. When I called them after that time they said upto 12 weeks. Every week we have to take our rubbish to the tip and live on a rubbish site fora week. It's ridiculous, all they do is take your money straight away without fullfilling their services

Sent me a penalty charge notice as I was not aware of CAZ zone charge.
REALLY? IN BRADFORD?
You as a council should supply gas masks to visitors like me before entering the town.
Even after a brief explanation that it was my first time there and I was not aware of their charges and the vehicle I was driving then was used for personal reasons my appeal was rejected!
Now I have paid full PCN£120 +£7 CAZ Charge and I really hope that the money will be used to improve the quality of the air as Bradford stinks!
