There’s probably not enough space to sing my praise for the whole butcher Farrell crew. I’ve been buying my meat here exclusively for the past 4 years, no longer considering anywhere else for meat. The staff are always welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable. If they don’t have what I’m looking for they jump to accommodate. Beyond the customer service, this is hands down the best meat you’ll ever get. Don’t just take it from me, every person we purchase steaks for as birthday gifts agree. As someone who always ate a steak with sauce…. I now actually love THE STEAK sans sauce. I feel so much happier feeding my children sausages and meats from butcher Farrell instead of the big box shops where I can’t guarantee quality. Anyone in proximity is lucky to have such a butcher nearby. If you haven’t checked them out, you won’t be disappointed.

This is the third time that we have…
This is the third time that we have bought meat from farrells.
The first 2 times from the farm shop.
Today we purchased from the Ormskirk shop.
The member of staff informed me when asked if the meat they sell was halal ,
that over 80% of meat sold in the uk was halal!!
Including chicken in their shop.
I find this absolutely outrageous that it isn't advertised as such.
My son spent £37 .
I have in my 2 previous visits spent over £100
I can assure you I will not be back.
It should be advertised if the product is halal..

Appreciate you taking time to leave these comments. Firstly, I'm a bit disappointed you felt the need to come here and leave us a 1* without even bothering to discuss your outrage with the owner... myself. You've shopped with us before and (i'm guessing as you returned) enjoyed our meat and service, for that thank you. Sadly courtesy is dead and you've decided to come here first.
Our beef, pork and lamb are NOT halal. Our free range chicken is halal, simply because the mass majority of abattoirs in the UK are halal. We buy from Herb Fed Poultry in York, where there are no local non-halal slaughter houses, the birds are stunned and then dispatched. If you would like to come down to discuss this more, I am more than happy to and of course available.
My member of staff was trying to have a discussion with you and unfortunately, might have got his words mixed up. He's actually very upset by the situation, as I am. I pride myself on our produce and our service, sometimes things happen and I've always been available to rectify. I'm very upset you haven't given us a chance and have turned to here.

It’s fun, we usually learn something and it’s an integral part of our weekends. You might not think this of a butcher but our lives would be just that little less rich colour and depth without it. Steak was good
45 day aged ex dairy ribeye was the clear favourite in our house. Pork belly burnt ends were second. sausages were a fail and went into the bin. Bacon needed to be smoked. 45 day bone in rib of beef needed more marbling and less sinew at £57.0 that was very disappointing. Considering the overall £149.50 price tag 3/5 is generous.
45 day aged ex dairy ribeye was good though. Will order again but more selectively.

Directed me toward a lovely bit of lamb! He gave me directions on how to cook and even deboned it, minted it and tied it.. HONESTLY BY FAR THE NICEST LAMB IVE EVER EATEN!! Thank you

Our second order has not disappointed. Very quick to be despatched and as sparing as possible in the packaging. Most important - great quality meat. Well worth paying for this. We eat less meat these days and truly enjoy what Butcher Farrell produces.

The people were so friendly and helpful. I placed an order on the Wednesday and it arrived Friday morning. The beef tallow is lovely, I would highly recommend and will definitely order again.
