We’ve lived by the Cam river for 2 years now and have seen the rowers go countless times. It was a great experience trying to row. The instructor was great and it was a wonderfully welcoming and pedagogic first experience. Warmly recommended!

This was an excellent team-building activity. It was incredible to go from a complete bunch of novices to rowing as an 8, all within the space of a couple of hours. The instructor was skilled in delivering the key information we needed to take in, but added a little humour to enable us to feel at ease and comfortable. Being able to review the session together on the balcony with Pimms and snacks, overlooking the beautiful river, was the icing on the cake. A big thumbs up from my team at Arm.

I enjoyed learning the basics of how to row, and getting to do the experience at a busy club house was exciting. The instructors were knowledgeable and made it very accessible

Thank you Cambridge Rowing Experience for a fantastic two outings. My friend and I both rowed a lot (sweep oar) on the Cam in the fairly distant past and thought it would be fun to try sculling, ideally as part of a course or with a coach. CRE couldn’t have been more helpful from first contact to the outings themselves. Omar responded promptly, made great suggestions and was super flexible with dates and times.

Mike, our awesome coach, was friendly, welcoming and balanced providing tailored technical guidance with giving us enough space to indulge in a bit of nostalgia …but not so much that he let us crash into any unsuspecting houseboats or other crews!

We would wholeheartedly recommend CRE to anyone wanting to return to rowing, or to try a new activity, on the beautiful Cam. We’ll be back :)

A great day taking 8 people new to rowing taking us through the basics first on land then on water before taking us out in a coxed eight with supervision and instruction from Mike riding alongside on the bank. Thea, our Cox, and Mike were kind and patient and the group came together well having us rowing for stretches all 8 at a time. A thoroughly enjoyable taster session that I would recommend to anybody.

Wonderful experience. Good introduction and ready for next stage.

I recently participated in the Learn to Row course delivered by Cambridge Rowing in one of London's rowing clubs in Hammersmith. It was so awesome that I have now joined the rowing club to continue my training!

The program was thoughtfully structured, beginning with theory and training on rowing machines before swiftly moving us into boats and onto river Thames. I felt very safe throughout the course.

Our instructor was exceptional - patient, knowledgeable, and encouraging throughout the sessions. His guidance made the learning process enjoyable and accessible, even for complete beginners like myself.

The experience was fun, brilliant for fitness and also sociable, especially as we got access to the boathouse bar overlooking river Thames.

I was invited by a friend of mine to join a rowing session at Cambridge on Sunday, Feb 9, 2025. It was a fantastic experience especially in Cambridge. I was in a rowing team in Beijing with colleagues before i came to UK so I was so happy to back to the river as i haven't done that for long time since 2023! Rowing is a real team work, "it doesn't matter how much power you use, its all about the timing, and you work together with your team mates."--- my instructor. I hope i could be back to Cambridge and row again in the summer!

I got a gift voucher for the experience and I'm pleased to say it was such an exciting afternoon! I've always wanted to try rowing and the instructors were able to get all of us newbies, rowing like champs in just over an hour! We were all strangers but by the end of the session, it felt like we were the best team ever :-)

We had a brilliant experience with Cambridge Rowing. We meet for company off-sites five times a year, and this has been by far our best team-building experience.
From start to finish it was well-organized, fun, and pitched perfectly to meet the whole team's needs.

The whole experience lasts for 3 hours and Omar takes you from putting the boat onto the water to rowing as a team. We had a lot of fun and would definitely to it again.

The experience day was fantastic. The coach was amazing, explaining all the important details and basics of the sport. The facilities were amazing too.

This is a fantastic experience, I would attend more sessions and recommend you to join it.

Having enjoyed the experience twice now I can say with full confidence that it is simply amazing and would recommend to anyone, no matter your age and fitness ability!
