Camp America was a truly life changing experience for me. I left the UK as an anxious, shy individual and came back with confidence I didn't know I had. My career has massively benefitted from working at camp. 2023 was my 6th year being involved with Camp America and I have made countless friends who have had a profound impact on me. I would encourage anyone with a desire to do so, to take part.

2024 will be my 3rd year working at a summer camp, thanks to the help of Camp America. I was lucky enough to find my perfect match on my first year, to which I have returned to the same camp every summer since! It is my happy place, my second home and the place where I am surrounded by amazing people where I can be my true self. The memories you make and the experiences you get to undertake are some of the things you get to treasure from this freeing and fabulous experience. I could not recommend it enough to everyone and anyone! In addition to this, you get the opportunity to spend up to a month travelling after camp, meaning you can tour the states and see some incredible things. Whether that be the beauty of nature, that can be found across all states thanks to their differentiating landscapes, or exploring a cities such as the Big Apple and Chicago, famous for its hotdogs. Memories to be made around every corner! Camp America is the perfect agency to apply through as the help you every step of the way, with very easy processes, including applying for your visa, getting a placement at a camp that best fits you and all extra support that may be needed along the way.

I did my placement with Easter Seals serving children and adults with disabilities. I’m 32 and thought I was too old to do camp America, but I absolutely wasn’t, in fact I’m glad I went at the time which was right for me. I had the most exceptional experience and learned so much. I could apply the experience to my study and professional practice in the UK. I’m autistic and have ADHD but that didn’t stop me either. I fell in love with the area I was least confident in, I returned home a stronger, happier and healthier person. The hardest part was leaving camp. I cannot imagine not being able to head back. Thank you CA and Easter Seals, Iowa. You changed me.

Helped me find my home over the pond, the system made it easy to navigate and I felt supported while I was out there. Can’t wait to go back next year, not just a once in a lifetime experience!

I had an amazing summer, I can’t recommend it enough. I can honestly say that I have met some of my best friends at camp and have experienced some amazing things. Working at Camp Edey was amazing they are kind and helpful people and the whole process was super easy. Would definitely do it if your able

camp America is one of the best life experiences I've had thus far, so much so I am In the process of applying for my second time round. if you are scared of hesitant the team are always on hand to assist you and they are very welcoming and friendly.

rising treetops is a fabulous camp, and if you want somewhere with a smaller community and a fair amount of free time as well as wonderful staff and camp director I definitely recommend here. I had the summer of a lifetime in 2023 and I cannot wait to go back to somewhere that truly made me feel so at home and welcome in 2024.

To say they exploit the staff is an understatement, long hours worked with less than minimum wage paid. However, my son had a great experience and made some lifelong friends this was not down to camp America or camp Chen-a-Wanda, the owner is a complete passive aggressive control freak who has no or little understanding of working with young international people, he won’t be going back anytime soon.

It was so bad, i did enjoy the experience at all and the pay was treble too. Living one top of people for 12 weeks and having to move cabins at least ones a week if not more.
Hard to wash clothes and get WiFi to call home or just switch off for a bit. Would not go back.

The very best in the business! Camp America allowed me to have the best summer of my life and I will always be very grateful for that!

Having now completed two summers at Camp Westmont through Camp America I can honestly say it’s the best decision I have ever made. The experiences that Camp offers both the kids and staff can’t be found elsewhere as they offer the most incredible and memorable summers. Both experiences for me were truly life changing and allowed me to build a big sister/role model relationship with the kids and make lifelong friendships as well as developing confidence, resilience and leadership skills within myself. I couldn’t recommend Camp any more as it really is a unique and special environment that I will always be so grateful to have been a part of. Camp America is an extremely reliable and helpful agency to do camp with. From my initial application, to my visa appointment, to my flights and right up to leaving for camp, everything was so smooth and I felt totally guided as help was easily accessible via phone or email whenever I had any questions. Their website is packed with information but also the staff are so friendly and willing to offer any information you might need and I would 100% reccomend them to anyone thinking of applying to do camp.

I did Camp America twice and cannot recommend it highly enough. Yes, the experience of working on a summer camp in the US is amazing, but it’s not possible without the friendly and approachable staff in the office who guided me through the process step by step. I loved the fact that they’re so open about costs (no hidden fees! What you see is what you pay!) and, although I didn’t need to use it, I valued the knowledge that there was someone at the end of the phone in the US should I need help. There is support in place from the initial interest in the programme right through to the plane landing back at home.

Camp America was the best experience of my life. I spent 3 amazing summers at camp from 2010-2013 and I still stay in touch with friends I made then.

Camp America is an amazing experience. It is absolutely not a walk in the park, it is not a 'job' in the conventional sense, but it is incredible nonetheless. You will make amazing friends, experience things you never thought you could, develop confidence and for me, even realise a future career path (in teaching). I have heard people complain that they didn't make much money, but it is clearly stated that this is an experience and not a job, and you only receive pocket money. I think overall I ended up breaking even after paying the expenses and then being paid at camp (with a few tips!), but it meant I was in America, expenses paid whilst I was there, and with the opportunity to travel around afterwards. I visited New York, Boston, DC, San Fran, LA, Chicago, Florida, Philly and Cape Cod over the two years I went to camp. I wouldn't change the experience for the world. Camp America themselves provide you with such incredible support from start to finish, and I've never met such friendly people. There are other agencies, but from what I've heard they aren't as straightforward and have more hidden costs. I'd recommend CA to absolutely everyone!

I’ve been returning to work at summer camp in the US for over ten years and have used multiple agencies over the years in order to obtain my visa and secure placement. Camp America was by far the best, most supportive and efficient agency, with no hidden fees. I wouldn’t return to camp using any other agency!
