If ZERO stars had been an option, I would have selected it. In March, 2026, I purchased a new Epson printer through the Sam's Club website using the CapitalOneShopping extension as it offered a $75 "rebate." I chose the "in store pickup" as I was going to our Sam's Club the next day anyway.
Well, it is now almost October and I have still not received my rebate. I have written to Capital One three times now and have not even received a response by phone, email or postal mail. And when you call them, their Customer Service motto seems to be "ignorance is bliss" as they are useless.
DO NOT FALL FOR THE CAPITALONE SHOPPING "EXPERIENCE" AS IT IS NOTHING BUT A SHAM, AND THEY SURE DO NOT HAVE ANY CUSTOMER SERVICE!

I’d give zero stars if I could. It’s impossible to redeem a reward- it sends a link to “verify” your email, which brings you back to the log in page and the exact same loop of sending a link to email that circles back to the log in page over and over again. Customer help has not responded to 2 inquiries. I’m deleting the app, blocking their emails, and canceling the card.

Was over on Amazon and was told I could get up to $100 back if I purchase the item over at Office Depot/Max and so I purchased an electronic device over their $200 limit and received 1.5% back.. totally misleading and deceptive by Capital One, that app is getting removed. DO NOT TRUST THE CAPITAL ONE SHOPPING APP!!

STAY AWAY!! $500 stolen from COS Acct due to poor security, no 2FA; along with $600 from my ckng account and it took them 2 weeks to ask my email address and no resolution or sorry. There are much better companies, like Rakuten, that offer real cashback, not a poor selection of gift cards.

I've only made a few purchases using the browser plugin so far. But they showed me a really great deal for a tech item I bought, where I got over $200 back in rewards. It didn't show up on my account at first and I had to contact customer support, but they resolved the issue and I did receive the reward. I deducted one star since I had to contact customer support so it didn't work perfectly, but I was really impressed at their response time and it definitely made me want to continue using the plugin. The gift card redemption options are a little limited but I was able to find a business I do shop at sometimes.

Same as everyone else. Capital One sent me a targeted email for $50 of $100 purchase at Sam's Club. I followed the terms and the exclusions exactly, the purchase tracked, showed pending, then rewarded and I redeemed it. Later Capital One clawed back the award making my account negative, and when I inquired they gave me a generic must of returned, modified or canceled the order. None of that applied and I contacted them numerous times, submitted receipts, screenshots, etc. Have proof of everything. Their customer service is unavailable and/or non responsive. There needs to be a major class action lawsuit against them as they continue to offer high dollar cashback with zero repercussions for not honoring what they promote, while I'm sure they are getting paid by the companies they are directing purchases to.

Run away from Capital One Shopping. No customer service at all and they want you to link a bank or credit card information in order to see if you qualify for redeeming your rewards. You see your rewards but you can't redeem them. Called Capital One but they know nothing about it. Removing it from my phone after finishing this review. Very deceptive product.

When trying to resolve payout issues the responses from the support team are often completely unhelpful, seemingly cut and pasted from a script, and seem designed to frustrate you into giving up. The rewards are deceptive in nature with offers in emails portraying eligibility while the fine print says otherwise. Absolutely predatory.

It really sucks. It never works.

I am writing this on pure principle. After enduring 9 consecutive rounds of automated nonsense emails regarding a missing reward, I bypassed standard support and forwarded the thread to the CEO's office. An executive case manager named Peter finally called me today. Instead of actually reading my file or fixing the problem, he left a voicemail telling me to go back to capitaloneshopping.com and follow the prompts! They are literally directing an escalated customer back to the exact webpage and automated system that failed them 9 times in the first place. Capital One Shopping counts on customers giving up out of sheer exhaustion. Even their highest-level corporate managers are playing dumb to avoid doing real work. I have close to $500 in rewards stuck in this system, and they treat their customers with absolute contempt. Do not trust this app.

Ineligible purchases are impossible to dispute. They use aggressive email campaigns to get shoppers to buy from the retailer, then the purchases are marked Ineligible and there is no way to resolve the issue. Avoid the scam.

⁸Crazy amount of waiting time just to get some change. For that referral program, Mean wile they are selling you're personal data. Making real money off of it. Im 100% sure if they read my review, the only thing they are going to say just like every other company. I placed an order on Domino’s, after attempting to apply coupons to my order. It came back with saving $3.03 on my order. When I picked up my order I discovered it actually removed an item from my order entirely. Very disappointed.

Capital One Shopping advertises some sign-up bonuses and cashback rewards for purchases made through its portal.

The problem is that it denies the bonuses after consumers fulfill their part of the contract, giving generic responses like 'Our record shows you have not met all the requirements to receive the bonus you are looking for.'

When customers request specific details of their account, such as what actual requirements of the bonus offer were not met, Capital One Shopping responds with 'We've reached a point where our customer service team can't proceed further. We are unable to move forward with your original request.'

With regard to the cashback that Capital One Shopping offers, about a third of the transactions that customers make are recognized by the portal; many purchases, though the corresponding site visits are reflected in the shopping trips history, are never recognized by Capital One, and customers receive no promised cashback.

The help center contacts are useless; the responses are generic and sometimes even rude, like the one I quoted above.

UPDATE: Yesterday after I wrote my review, A manager finally got back to me and confirmed that I have access to my rewards BUT only in the form of certain gift cards NOT cash back. From now on, I'll just do the cash back with Rakuten.

DO NOT! I wish I had read these reviews FIRST! I included an email I FINALLY got back from customer service days after I logged an inquiry on the Capital One Shopping website.

I had a lengthy conversation with Capital One Credit Card Customer Service and they logged a complaint for me BUT confirmed that they have no influence or authority over Capital One Shopping -which is considered separate. I have no idea if I'll ever see my rewards and will stick to Rakuten from now on! (following is the email I received with no definite ETA or even a personalized greeting )

I encourage everyone to make a BBB complaint about this scam. I went to try and cash out my rewards but then they flagged my account even though I’ve been with Capital one for several years. Many of my rewards never showed up and I get emails from the app, which constantly follows my browsing activity. They should be investigated.

SCAM. BUYER BEWARE. ADVERTISED PROMOTIONS are great, but it doesn’t matter if they don’t convert to points and dollars in your account.

ZERO CUSTOMER SERVICE, ZERO SUPPORT, ZERO PROBLEM-SOLVING. They will blame the vendor and tell you to wait 90 days to file a case- at which point, there is still no resolution.

Tough to find any other business with 1.1 star rating that is still in business.

BUYER BEWARE.

They sent me an email saying I could get 100$ back if I spent 300$ minimum at Meta, which I did. They then marked my purchase as "ineligible" because they claim my spend was under 300$ (It's over 340$)

well capital one offers are a scam, dont bother clicking on them because they wont honor them, i clicked on lego.com one, spend $20 and get back $10, never got $10 back on my account, emailed customer service because the is no number to talk to a person about it, sent them the all the information they needed, sent invoice of purchase and sent screenshot showing payment made threw my capital one bank account, and still they claim my purchase was not valid, to get $10 back, so they are very deceptive, deceitful and a scam , dont bother clicking on those offers, there scams
