What a brilliant experience buying a car from CarCar. My first contact was Sam who saw me through the whole buying process. I was buying a car off photos and a video and with Sam’s help I bought it. The car was delivered on Tuesday on a low loader and it didn’t disappoint it was even better than the photos. I have to thank Sam for all his help and I fully recommend Sam and CarCar if you are looking to buy a car

I bought a car from a lovely gentleman named Sam who was a really genuinely nice guy. I bought the car for a couple of reasons. One of those being that he wasn’t a pushy salesman. The other was the 5* autotrader reviews. Obviously I liked the car too!!! I got to test drive it with just my mum and I. Sam Told me the history of the car and had every single receipt to show for it. So, everything was great. On the way home the car broke down. Now to make it very clear, there was absolutely no way either Sam or I could have predicted this was going to happen, it was a genuine problem that could have happened to any car at any time, just happened then. Anyway, the AA were able to come to get me off the motorway down to the nearest services and fixed it there and then. Sam, didn’t even question it. As soon as he found out what had happened, he spoke to the AA guy and had it all sorted with no hesitation. I would definitely buy from him again. I would also highly recommend him. Pleasure doing business with him.

Would recommend CarCar , very straightforward & excellent communication.
Saw the car on Autotrader on the Sunday , spoke to Sam , who offered the delivery service for Wednesday.
The car was exactly as described. Had a test drive & transferred the money. Paperwork all in order .

My partner bought an Audi A1. When delivered we noticed a couple of things with the car like a small crack in the windscreen, even though the car had an extensive “check”. They gave us a small discount on the extended warranty. We had the car less than 6 months before the turbo failed. The warranty company only payed £1000 when the cost of the repair was £2200. We have had to pay the rest out of our own pockets. When we contacted the company Carcar they offered us back out initial payment of £6k but didn’t want to pay the money we were out of pocket for the turbo. They were unwilling to budge even though we were within the 6 months period set out by the consumer rights act 2015. Now we have to take them to small claims court for the outstanding difference. To anyone reading this, the salesman Sam was very polite and professional but now we are at this point I think his hands are tied by his boss/owner of the business. Steer clear of this company before you get stung

I purchased a vehicle from Carcar online and had it delivered the same day, which was very impressive given I live on the other side of the country. Everything seemed professional and when it was delivered I was happy. After 13 days the van started leaking oil on my driveway. I contacted Carcar who said to get it to a garage to get a diagnosis. My local garage said that the repair that had been done (before I received it) had not been done correctly causing oil to leak out of pipes and showed me a positive smoke test.
I decided to reject the vehicle as it’s likely going to take some work to get right and I needed a reliable vehicle, which I’d lost faith that it could be in the future too. I requested a FULL refund for the vehicle as per consumer rights 2015 laws due to it being faulty and not fit for purpose but I have received only a part refund. I have requested the rest of my funds to no avail. Trading standards have been informed and I’m still massively out of pocket.

I visited CarCar to view a vehicle they had for sale. The advert was strong which attracted me there, and coupled with high service history, it was sounding pretty good.

Upon arrival, everything was pleasant and I looked over the car. Tyres were almost finished, alloys corroded badly and front discs with a slight lip. All things which needed attention.

Car drove well, and when negotiations started over price, to take into account these issues which were costly to sort, I was told, not a penny would be deducted from the asking price.

No haggling got the price lower to offset the repairs. I did get a full tank of petrol though, but I had to push for that too

Fast forward and a week after buying it, the water pump failed. I was quoted £900 to supply and fix it, at my specialist.

I contacted CarCar and brought them up to speed quickly.
I was told my warranty only covered engine & gearbox failure but they would repair the car, if I got it back to them and then it would be a part they could fit. Not genuine or OE, and at my expense, on a trailer from Essex to Bristol.

This wasn't good enough for me. When it was asked if the part could be purchased and I'd fit it myself, this was refused too.

I ended up paying £400 of my own money to buy a new OE pump, and fitted it myself, on top of the issues the car still needs.

There was no good will gesture offered to offset the issues I've been having.
Now the car drives as it should but at considerably more expense, than I should have had.

I expected more, given I paid a premium price.
Yes, I could have walked away and not purchased the car, but the service history was so very good, with full main dealer stamps.

Disappointed.
