Longer Titration Times than Adverstised

At the time of my RTC referral (early Nov '25) the wait times were advertised as around 13-16 weeks (8-10 weeks for assessment and 5-6 weeks for Titration).

Everything started well and I received my diagnosis on Jan 5th and selected the Titration treatment path. The advice on my email was that was also that this would be around 12 weeks.

I'm now on week 24 total and 15 since Titration request. I've rung today seeking advice and was given no real confirmation only that it will be ASAP. Side note: I've no complaints regarding the staff at all, they've always been great and lovely to talk to.

Looking at the CareADHD website this now say April-July 2026 with no additional guidance. Doing some cross referencing with conversations on the ADHDUK Reddit page I expect I may not receive an appointment until around June 2026 (30 weeks total, 21 since titration request). However, this a best guess and I could be looking at 38 weeks total and 29 weeks since titration request.

I actually feel a little bit mislead and may have chosen other services had I been aware this was the case. Looking at Reddit the original advertised timescales may have always been unrealistic. I'm not sure where to go next or if anything can hurry as appreciate it's not in my control, but am obviously starting to feel anxious over the wait time. I am considering getting advice from either my local ICB, CQC, or Parliamentary and Health Service Ombudsman, and will update based on responses.

Over a year now, still waiting for titration appointment with no word from Care Adhd at all and no indication of when I will be seen. So disappointed I chose this company

Professional and quality service.

After a near 6 year wait on an ADHD assessment with my NHS provider, I was given the option of moving to CareADHD to do my assessment instead. I am so glad I did.
It was quick and easy to fill in the information they needed and choose my appointment date and time.
My appointment with Emmanuel was great, he put me at ease, was professional and explained everything clearly and patiently.
The assessment and what to do next were all sent to me via email, and we're clear and consise.
Very happy with the service and would advise anyone else who waiting to go through an ADHD assessment to take Care ADHD into consideration.

Review:

Review:

I am extremely disappointed with the way my case has been handled by Care ADHD.

I was referred by my GP in September for ADHD revalidation, despite already having a confirmed NHS diagnosis from just a year prior. Shockingly, I only discovered three months later that my referral had been rejected — without any communication, no questionnaires, and no assessment.

In January and again in February, my GP challenged this decision and requested that my case be expedited. They clearly stated that:

* I had previously been prescribed ADHD medication
* My treatment was interrupted only due to relocation within the UK
* The delays were already negatively affecting me

On 24 February, I submitted my ECG and completed all required titration forms the same day. Since then — now over 8 weeks later — I have received no meaningful updates.

When I contacted them today, I was told my case is not even being treated as expedited, despite multiple GP requests. This is unacceptable.

These delays are not just administrative — they are having real consequences. I work in accounting, and without proper ADHD treatment, my ability to function at work has been significantly impacted, putting my job at risk.

This level of delay, poor communication, and lack of accountability is extremely concerning. I would not recommend this service based on my experience.

Thank you for sharing your experience with us.

I am very sorry to hear about the delays you have described and the impact this has had on your work and wellbeing. I also understand how concerning and frustrating it must have been to feel that your case was not being progressed or clearly communicated, especially after submitting all required information and following up through your GP.

This is not the level of service we aim to provide, and I apologise for the distress this situation has caused.

We would like to look into your case in more detail to understand exactly what has happened and why there has been a delay in your pathway, including the points raised around your referral, GP correspondence, and your request for prioritisation.

Extremely long delays, poor communication, and no clarity on treatment timeline

Extremely long delays, poor communication, and no clarity on treatment timeline, left with little hope.

I’m leaving this review because my experience with Care ADHD has been deeply disappointing.

I was given a clear 12‑week timeframe for my first titration medication appointment in an email dated 23 January. It’s now well beyond that, and I still haven’t received an appointment, a confirmation, or any meaningful update.

For context:

My titration request was processed on 16 February
Clinical review completed on 17 February
Added to the “Ready to Book” list on 17 February
I remain on that list with no progress

I was first referred in October 2025, and it’s now April 2026 — almost eight months with no treatment started.

Every time I contact the service, I’m given only generic wait‑time estimates that keep increasing and don’t reflect the 12‑week timeframe I was originally promised in writing. I’m now being told the wait is 20 weeks, with no explanation for the discrepancy.

I’ve also been told no one can contact me directly to give an accurate update, which is incredibly frustrating and feels like a complete lack of accountability.

I’ve been patient and proactive, but the ongoing delays and vague communication have made this process extremely stressful, especially given the impact of unmanaged ADHD symptoms on daily life and work.

I chose Care ADHD through Right to Choose because it was presented as a faster, more efficient option, but that has not been my experience at all.

At this point, I feel misled and unbelievably let down.

I have been left with no other option, other than to submit a formal complaint to the service, and I have had to contact my GP to request to write a letter to the serivce, wich was sent on the 15th of April and I am still yet to be contacted.

Dissapointed is an understatement.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us.

I’m really sorry to hear about the delays you’ve described and the impact this has had on your wellbeing, work, and overall experience of our service. I also understand how frustrating it must feel to be waiting without clear updates, especially after being given an expected timeframe.

Right now, we are experiencing a large backlog of patients waiting to start titration. This is due to a combination of factors, including a significant increase in demand for our service, both privately and through the NHS Right to Choose pathway, reduced clinical capacity for clinicians who carry out titration appointments, delays at the point where patients move from triage into treatment, and recent changes to the titration process which are intended to improve efficiency in the long term but have temporarily slowed things down while teams and systems adjust. Our published waiting times are intended as guidance and begin from the point when titration forms are processed and entered into our system.

We are very sorry for the frustration this has caused, particularly where there appears to be a difference between expected timeframes and the current experience of waiting.

We would really like the opportunity to look into your case in more detail and review the specific points you have raised, including your timeline and communication concerns.

Wait times and process transparency

Review focused on wait times and process transparency
I am writing this review to provide transparency for people considering Care ADHD, particularly around wait times after diagnosis.
Summary of timings:
I was referred by my GP on 10 June 2025. As of now, I have been waiting over 10 months to begin medication. Approximately 4 weeks of this delay was due to me taking longer than ideal to return forms; the remainder of the wait has been outside my control.
I sent the initial referral paperwork to my GP on 10 June 2025 and was contacted by Care ADHD about a month later, in early July. I returned the assessment forms around 21 July 2025, and after a further gap was contacted again in early October. I had my assessment a few weeks later and received confirmation of my ADHD diagnosis on 29 October 2025.
Since receiving my diagnosis, progress has stalled. I requested to proceed onto the medication pathway straight away after receiving my outcome letter and returned the required forms in early January 2026 after receiving them around the 18 December 2025. It is now over 15 weeks since I submitted these forms, and I am still waiting to be contacted to book a titration appointment.
I have contacted Care ADHD several times for updates and have received polite replies stating that I am “now" on the list to book, along with one automated email three weeks ago. However, this is confusing, as I believed I had been on this list since January. I have been told that wait times vary depending on clinical complexity, NHS resources and demand. In my case, the clinical review was completed immediately, and I am aware of someone in the same local NHS area, with the same GP and a more complex clinical history, who was diagnosed earlier than me and progressed to titration within 2 weeks.
This has left me concerned that my case may have been delayed due to an administrative issue, but more broadly I feel frustrated by the lack of transparency. Care ADHD continues to advertise short wait times, yet there is no clear or personalised indication of how long patients should expect to wait at this stage.
Not being able to give even a rough, individual timeframe places patients in a difficult position. You are left constantly alert in case you receive a call, while still managing the challenges of ADHD and the hope that support is finally close. This uncertainty is incredibly stressful and, in my view, avoidable.
At a minimum, it would help if Care ADHD could:

- provide indicative, personalised wait time ranges when medication pathway forms are submitted, based on local demand; and
- give advance notice when a call is likely in the next few days, rather than requiring patients to remain on high alert for months.

I hope this review is helpful both to people deciding which provider to choose, and to Care ADHD, as constructive feedback on how current processes could be improved to avoid adding unnecessary stress to patients who are already struggling. I would welcome a response or clarification from the Care ADHD team.

Thank you for taking the time to leave such detailed feedback.

I’m sorry to hear about the length of time you have been waiting to start medication after your diagnosis, and I understand how frustrating and stressful it must feel to be in a period of uncertainty, especially after completing the required steps and waiting for updates.

We also appreciate you outlining your timeline clearly and sharing your concerns about communication and transparency around waiting times. Feedback like this is important for us to understand how the process is experienced from a patient perspective.

We understand your concerns around clarity and expectations during this stage, and we are continually reviewing how we can improve communication around waiting times and patient progression.

Wait times advertised are nothing of the sort

Everybody who pursues an ADHD diagnosis via NHS Right to Choose, as a first step, is sent to the ADHD UK website by their GP to view the list of providers and choose one. Naturally, people choose the provider with the lowest advertised wait times.

People are being driven to Care ADHD in large numbers purely because Care ADHD advertise artificially low wait times on the ADHD UK website. Other providers advertise much longer (but realistic and honest) wait times and therefore lose out on patients (and presumably funding) to dishonest providers like Care ADHD, who it appears are trying to play the system and hoodwink vulnerable patients.

Care ADHD appear to be taking on far more patients than they can service which inevitably leads to patients becoming trapping in oversaturated queues at each and every stage of the process.

Progress through the diagnosis process comes in bursts where you are asked to send off x amount of lengthy forms (13 forms at one stage I believe, which took hours to complete) before then being kept in large queues to reach the next stage. Wait times between each stage are many months long.

A critical piece of information that they don't give you is that once you receive a diagnosis (for me this took around 9 months) you are then placed into another queue of 6+ months to wait for medication, whereas other companies seem to deal with medication requests at the point of diagnosis.

I wish I could rate them higher as the staff are friendly and, ultimately, I obtained an ADHD diagnosis through the company. However, I cannot do so because I find Care ADHD's marketing practices to be dishonest.

I was referred to them by my GP in around Feb 2025. I received a diagnosis Nov 2025 and very shortly after that (18 Nov 2025) I requested titration.

At that time, their website advised that the average wait time for 'titration' (an appointment to obtain medication) was 12 - 16 weeks from the date when the titration request was made. In March, they updated that indicative wait time overnight to 'between April - July 2026' (the top end of which is an 8 month waiting time, not the 12-16 weeks initially advised).

When you ask for updates you are regularly fobbed off with copy/paste responses which are devoid of any substantive information.

I have seen many people on social media talk about their experiences/timelines and many of those people say that they were diagnosed after me but somehow seem to have received medication before me. You therefore cannot trust the assertions on their website that 'all cases are reviewed in order' which is demonstrably not true.

Do your research before you choose a provider.

Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re sorry that the process has felt so long and frustrating.

Our published waiting times are estimates based on the information we have at the time, and these changed as demand increased and clinical capacity became more limited. We understand how disappointing that is.

We also continue to accept NHS Right to Choose referrals because we are contracted to do so, and we can only stop if instructed by the NHS. This is a nationwide issue, and taking new referrals does not reduce the priority of patients already in the pathway.

The forms you were asked to complete are important because they give our clinicians the information they need to make safe and accurate decisions. We know they take time, and we appreciate the effort involved.

We’re sorry if any of our replies felt generic, we are working hard to improve communication so patients receive clearer and more helpful updates.

Progress through the pathway can differ between patients due to clinical needs, additional checks, or prioritisation for safety reasons. This can make it seem like others move faster, but your case has not been overlooked.

I was not informed that my weight and…

I was not informed that my weight and blood pressure needed to be provided before my next prescription could be processed. On the day of my appointment, I was flying to Poland and was advised that everything would be fine and that I could provide these details on my return. However, I only had six days of medication remaining at that point.

As a result, I had to chase Care ADHD regarding my prescription, which had not been processed, leaving me without medication for a week. There needs to be clearer communication regarding required steps and the consequences of not completing them in time.

My second concern relates to delivery. I paid an additional ad hoc fee for next-day delivery on the Wednesday, completing payment at 12pm. After this, I received no confirmation or update on when the medication would be dispatched or delivered. I had to contact Care ADHD again the following day, at which point I was informed that the 2pm cut-off had been missed because my email had not been picked up in time.

I was also advised that the prescription had still not been sent to CuraClinic for dispatch, and there was no guarantee it would be sent that day (Thursday). I received no updates throughout Thursday. On Friday, I was finally informed that the order had been received and that I would be contacted once it had been dispatched. Later that evening, I received confirmation that it had been sent via Royal Mail, and I received the medication on Saturday.

I do not understand why I was charged £20 for next-day delivery when it ultimately took three days. If this had been clearly explained prior to payment, I would not have proceeded, as the service I received reflected standard delivery rather than a priority service.

Further to my frustration, I also sent an email on Friday requesting a full refund of the delivery charge, which has not received any response. This lack of communication adds to what has already been a very disappointing experience.

Overall, this situation highlights three clear examples of poor service: a lack of upfront communication regarding prescription requirements, delays and lack of transparency in processing and dispatch, and failure to respond to a formal refund request.
