The brand has a great marketing and products are very well designed. However the service and the quality are questionable. The trousers ordered had little scratches, the color doesn’t show like in picture.

And be aware, it’s 20€ to return the goods. Which is crazily expensive! Imagine trying trousers in the shop for 20€.

There are three parts to my experience with Casatlantic which were all 5*:

1. As it clearly states on their website that UK prices are not inclusive of VAT or import duty, I reached out to them to ask which HS/commodity codes they used for their products so that I could work out the taxes that would be due myself. I emailed at 11pm, and Carl got back to me at 8am the next day with the requested information.

At the time of this review the codes used are as follows:

Linen trousers - 62034990
Cotton trousers - 61034200
Linen shirts - 62059010
Cotton shirts - 620520
Cotton knitwear - 61051090

This allowed me to work out that I was going to pay ~12% customs duty in addition to UK VAT upon arrival of the goods. You should also be aware that UPS will charge a circa £12 handling fee. This is pretty standard operation in a post-Brexit world. It's not really Casatlantic's fault that the UK voted for it and made it difficult for companies to operate here.

2. Free UK shipping on orders over £175 is great value imo, and makes up for the £12 you pay to UPS for handling. Dispatch was very quick on both of the two orders I placed, and shipping was 2-3 working days.

3. The fit and shape of the clothes... I have two Ben Guerir shirts, an Ahfir polo and some Mogador trousers and they're all fantastic. I compared measurements with the provided size charts and went small for the shirts and medium for the polo, which were spot on for my requirements.

Overall I'm delighted with customer service, shipping and product.

Unlike some other mainland European clothing companies who sell clothes to UK consumers, and who have worked out how to operate with the new rules post-Brexit, Casatlantic haven't. So, you will have to pay all the taxes due on your clothing items to the courier before they will deliver. That is not necessarily a problem, unless you want to return something, in which case, it is very difficult for you as an individual to reclaim the taxes. You will also have to pay the 25 euro return postage cost.

The clothes are good quality, I like them and am happy with them. I judged fairly accurately with the sizing, so fortunately have not had to weather too much unreclaimable VAT.

Hidden Fees for UK delivery.

Was stung for £110 taxes that was hidden in the fine print on the website. Cannot return the items without losing that money, all in all a terrible experience.

Casatlantic is an amazing brand, with a slick, easy-to-use website. Product arrived to the UK from Sweden in several days and in a solid box.

The trousers are incredibly well-made and appear true to size. I am waiting for a restock now so I can get my hands on some alternative colours!

They did not make it clear that they charge customers on returns. Charging €20 or more for a return is too much!! If they are going to do that, they just make it very clear to customers before they buy. Never buying from them again!!!!!

I bought 3 pairs of Tangers (Green, Khaki and Off White) and they are absolutely amazing!

The Odyssee in search of the ideal trousers has come to an end. It took me a year of constant research, frustration and disappointments, but at the end, I finally found my ideal trousers, the CASATLANTIC EL JADIDA.
I wanted my ideal trousers to meet all the following requirements: a classic straight and high waisted cut, available in multiple colors, made of a robust machine washable fabric, being comfortable, relatively affordable, very versatile and of a non intrusive elegance.
The El Jadida meets them all.
I will also acquire the El Jadida in deep navy, sarge green and probably black as soon, as they are available again in size W30 L34. A dark brown version would by the way be also great to have.

Impeccable construction and cut (Mogador), the choice of 10.3 oz cotton indicates that the trousers will be very durable and versatile. Time will tell how long the trousers will last, all in all good value for the money.

This is some of the best trousers for the money right now. Frist I bought the Safi model, but it was a bit too baggy on me. I exchanged for the El Jadida which is a perfect fit for my body type. The trousers have a classic high rise with room enough so that the trousers drape nicely. The fabric is a heavy sturdy twill with no elastics added. Just top quality in the sewing and cut.
