CBATONE is an independent practice platform for military and airline pilot aptitude testing, built in Australia and used by candidates preparing for the ADF CBAT and MACTS, the RAF CBAT at OASC Cranwell, and CFAST in Canada. Those assessments share most of the same skills, so the practice carries across. There are 27 tests covering numerical work, spatial reasoning, instrument comprehension, working memory, perceptual speed, psychomotor control and multitasking. Ten of them are live real-time simulations rather than questions on a page, which is the part a worksheet or a PDF cannot reach: tracking a target while something else demands your attention, steering three aircraft at once, holding a briefing you heard once. Everything is timed and scored in the browser, with nothing to install. Every test has a free version, so you can sit the real thing before deciding whether to pay. Premium adds freshly generated questions each run, easy, medium and hard practice levels, a breakdown of where the marks went, an answer review, progress tracking by skill area, a study plan built around your test date, and a two-day mock covering the full battery. Payment is one-off. Nothing renews and there is no subscription to cancel. Scores are measured against our own published benchmark, deliberately set above the standard we calibrated against, and we say so wherever a score appears. We do not publish pass marks for any real assessment, because they are not public and anyone quoting you one is guessing. CBATONE is an independent, unofficial preparation resource. Honestly, really impressed!
The tests are pretty much the same as the ones I did in ASP, and the difficulty feels very similar too. It was honestly a huge help and gave me the confidence to open up all the positions again at ASP.

I’ve been using CBATONE to study for my Air Force testing and honestly it’s been life changing for me. I went from feeling pretty overwhelmed and not really knowing how to prepare, to actually feeling confident and like I have a real shot at this. It’s easy to use and has helped me understand what I need to work on.
A massive thank you to the developer for putting this together. You probably don’t realise how much something like this can help someone chasing a goal. Really appreciate the work that’s gone into it.

I haven’t experienced what the actual CBAT is like so I can’t compare the games to the real thing, however, I can still talk about the games themselves and how they play.
Most of the games work pretty well I’ve definitely felt more confident by using the website. Notably ACT as I wasn’t able to find anything similar online and had no where to practice it. I like the UI and think it’s fairly simple which is what we want in a website where the main focus is the tests. The tests are smooth and have no bugs on my end.
The only issues I have the site are one or two games plus the scoring. Firstly DPT is supposed to be played by entering a bearing relative to the aircraft, whereas on the site you can just steer it by using the keys which isn’t quite accurate to the exam. Changing this one thing would make it a lot more challenging. Directions and distances seems a bit too hard but maybe that’s just me. I don’t think the actual exam forces people to calculate square roots in their head to work out distances but I’m not too sure. Finally the last little issue I had was the percentage system. Although the site explains it I still find it a little confusing at times as I could be getting 120% on an exam and still be in the developing or strong zone. Firstly I feel as though keeping the max score on the tests to 100% would just make it simpler for everyone to understand where the maximum score is still 15% higher than what’s required.
Overall great website but I’ll have to see how much it helps when I do my CBAT in just over a weeks time lol

Thanks Udaybir, this is the most useful review we've had, and two of your three points were right.
The DPT. You were correct. Turns were always meant to be typed as a figure and then sent left or right, relative to the aircraft's own nose, the way the real one is flown. But an arrow key pressed with nothing typed fell back to a 30 degree turn, so the scope could be steered like a car and never ask you for a bearing at all. That is not the skill being measured and it should not have been available. It is gone. An empty pad now sends nothing, and the turn buttons stay greyed out until you type a figure.
Directions and distances. Here we owe you better wording rather than an easier test. No question on that test needs a square root worked out in your head, and none ever has. Every straight-line answer is built from one of five triangles scaled up: 3-4-5, 5-12-13, 8-15-17, 7-24-25, 20-21-29. So 80 north and 60 east is 100, because that is 3-4-5 times twenty. The site knew that and never said it, which left the questions looking like arithmetic you had no time for. The explanation after each one now names the triangle and the scale, and the shortcut is on the test page before you start. The questions themselves are unchanged, because a candidate who has sat the ASP confirmed those questions exist.
The percentage. Both halves of what you saw are working as intended, but the screen was not telling you so. The percentage is measured against a bar we deliberately set above the standard, so over 100 percent is possible and means you cleared it with room spare. Separately, if under 60 percent of your answers were right, the band is held at Developing no matter how high the percentage climbs. That stops a fast run of wrong answers reading as a good one. Put together you get 120 percent and Developing on the same card, which looks like a contradiction when nobody explains it.
We thought hard about your suggestion to cap the score at 100 percent. We have not, because it would hide the difference between just clearing the bar and clearing it comfortably, and that gap is worth knowing before a selection. Instead the results card now says plainly when accuracy is what is holding the band down, and by how much.
