TLDR; After a botched dashcam installation missed an impact on my parked car, I was eventually directed to Steve at Chameleon Codewing who troubleshooted the issue and arranged for it to be corrected. I have never come across someone with such expertise, and professionalism within the car industry! 5 stars all the way!!

My story goes: I bought an expensive Thinkware front and rear dashcam in an attempt to add a layer of protection on the roads and to my vehicle from the ‘Wild West’ nature that London roads have become.

I researched and found what I thought to be a reputable specialist to install said dashcam, which seemed to be working fine. It would alert me to incidents, recordings and entering parking mode etc. All seemed to be as it should. This was until I returned home to see a huge dent in the passenger side door of my parked car. Of course being London, no note was left! That’s ok, I thought, I’ll see the recording and the vehicle driving away. In short, it didn’t capture it. Parking mode would switch on and then off 3 minutes later.

Absolutely furious, I got onto the dashcam company (Thinkware), who went through all settings confirming they were correct. They then tried to fob me off with “these things happen, sorry for the inconvenience.” They quickly realised that wasn’t good enough and I was prepared to escalate things to recoup all costs. This is where they referred me over to their top installation specialist , Steve at Chameleon Codewing.

I probably didn’t enter the conversation too calmly, being angry and very frustrated by this point. But Steve showed calm professionalism in strategically troubleshooting the issues from afar. He wrote clear, detailed emails and concise (colour coded) instructions on what to do to help him determine what the issues might have been. It was evident that Steve was far more proficient than the original installer, who I’d also been in contact with.

Having gained my absolute trust I asked Steve if he could correct the issue for me, to which he said yes. He sent me to his best dealer who was less than 10 miles away, where an equally knowledgeable and professional chap quickly found, “the worst wiring of a dashcam he’d probably ever seen!” He took photos as proof and resolved the issue in no time. It now works perfectly!

I can’t tell you how relieving and reassuring it is to interact with people that take pride in their professions and are masters at what they do. There are far too many charlatans around nowadays.

There aren’t enough stars to award Steve at Chameleon Codewing. I won’t be going anywhere else from now on.

(And needless to say my wrath has been redirected to the original installer who’s name/company I won’t mention here)

I have been experiencing problems with my Q200 dash Cam. With poor response from the parent company they put me in touch with Chameleon Codewing, Steve was my respondent. We have been exchanging emails for nearly two weeks. His dedication to helping me resolve this issue has been absolutely outstanding. In times when Service is a dirty word, Steve has gone more than the extra mile. The problem has now been resolved, without his help I would have been unable to use the Dash Cam as it should be used. A great thank you Steve, very worthy of a pat on the back from his boss.

I switched a Thinkware Q1000 from my old car to my new car. For some inexplicable reason the GPS signal only connected intermittently. I contacted Thinkware / Chameleon Codewing who suggested several possible solutions. They initially provided me with a free mounting kit in the event I needed to reposition my dashcam on the windscreen. Finally, after trying several solutions, they offered me a new Q1000 dashcam, even though mine was outside of its warranty. My contact 'Steve' was incredibly helpful in all my communications with Thinkware / Chameleon Codewing. I cannot recommend them enough.

Purchased a Thinkware f750 dashcam approx 9 yrs ago had a few problems with it and contacted them regarding it and the fixed all the problems as it was more with settings in the app. Than the camera. Recently the camera stopped working and I contacted them again and after several emails they informed me that in their experience the camera couldn’t be repaired. They then asked if it was front and rear camera and offered a discount on a new unit. (Remember my old had a manufacturer date November 2015. They had no obligation) I have purchased a new one noting that the aftercare is perfect

The communication I received from this company was nothing short of amazing. It is hard to come across good service this day, why I do not know. But this company went way beyond what I would have expected. I would throughly recommend them.

I can’t praise Steve at Chameleon Codewing highly enough. I had a nightmare trying to get my Thinkware U3000 dash cam registered and working with Thinkware Connect, and after exhausting all the usual troubleshooting, it was clear the issue wasn’t on my side.

Steve stuck with the problem over several days, including during the Christmas/New Year period, patiently working through every possibility, keeping me constantly updated, and liaising directly with Thinkware on my behalf. He explained everything clearly, was completely honest throughout, and never once tried to take shortcuts or pass the buck.

In the end, it turned out to be a server-side issue at Thinkware, which Steve helped get resolved — and everything is now working perfectly. I genuinely would not have fixed this without his help.

This level of customer support is incredibly rare these days. Steve’s knowledge, integrity, responsiveness, and determination to actually solve the problem are second to none. I only buy Thinkware products because of the support Steve provides, and I’ll continue to do so without hesitation.

Waited 5 hours for their engineer to turn up, called them and said they would call me back which never happened.
Terrible company.

The repair guy, Steve, at Chameleon went above and beyond what most would call customer service on two occasions, with a tricky repair to a power input socket on a dashcam. One of those fiddly repairs that it takes experience and initiative to fix when it's not possible to replace the input socket (board design drawback). Great communications, lighting fast response and just a refreshing instance of Customer Care and empathy. Can't speak highly enough about Steve and can only assume that he is representative of the company's ethos. Can recommend them without hesitation!

My Thinkware T700 dash cam wasn’t connecting to the Connected App. I deleted the Connected App and put in my ICCID number but it wouldn’t connect to the server and after multiple attempts I contacted Collin at Chameleon Coding who talked me through what to do… unfortunately everything he suggested wasn’t working and he told me to send my dash cam to them and they would have a look at it. Steve the engineer taken it upon himself to try and resolve the issue which he did and 2 days later my dash cam was posted back and camera connected to the app no problem and everything was working perfectly.

First class customer service and I can’t thank them enough !!!

Purchased a dash camera from them fitting went extremely well the ladies on the phones very informative as was the engineer when fitting talked me through the whole process couldn’t fault anything with this company absolutely amazing

I had my front and rear Dashcam installed today and I’m very happy with the service provided.

Should be called Chameleon Cowboys! Avoid this company they have messed up the job they did and refuse to put it right. Trading Standards will be made aware of this awful company. Citizens Advice will be advising them and told me that I am by far the only one who has had cause to complain about these absolute cowboys!

Absolutely rubbish company. When they have to take your money thay doing this so fast but when you need them support is almost impossible to get in touch with them. Always excuses and try to get rid of you. The girls on the phone are pretty much useless. I had to talk with someone from technical support but no chance. Like always empty promises. Avoid them on any price...

They installed my dashcam bought from RAC Shop. Really pleased with everything

Do NOT use this company.
I bought a Thinkware F200 pro dashcam from them on 23/9/2021 and had nothing but problems with it, the device can only be accessed via an app that doesn't work.
I contacted the tech support on numerous times and just got told to download this software version or upload this firmware - nothing works.
I asked several times for a return code and address but nothing was ever provided.
I am now claiming the money back from my credit card company and making a formal complaint to trading standards, who will hopefully pass it on to the OFT.
Trying to contact this company on the number they give on their emails (01206 500 874) is pointless as the number doesn't exist.
