Chapter 25 Book Club Reviews 90

I have been a member of Chapter 25 for 17 months now, and it's the best decision I've ever made! I wanted to meet new people and make new friends, but never expected to be a part of something that feels like family. Not only do you make friends, you get to read books and genres you'd never usually explore, will probably be invited to social events outside of meetings, and get the Bonus Chapter (a schedule of online events including author Q&As) included. Anyone on the fence, please just join us, everyone is so welcoming and we have the best time. Ever thankful to Sian and the team, the hosts and member champions for making this happen

I was a little anxious about joining Chapter 25 but since joining I've been blown away by the friendliness and kindness within the club. Everyone has time, no cliques (which was my fear), just a warm and welcoming group of people. I've found my people ❤️

Went to both of the Blackpool book clubs, the one which takes place at the end of the month is ok but the book choices weren’t to my preference a lot of thrillers and fiction but the people were nice, the event which takes place the second week of the month is horrible the people are rude and bitchy do not like new members joining they make you feel excluded from the group and the host doesn’t even bother just sits chatting with her Friends very unprofessional a lot of the members don’t bother reading the book of the month and spend more time talking about themselves overall both events have problems I tried both over a course of 8 months to see if I could make friends with people and share my interests in certain books I like but no it was a disaster don’t bother attending the Blackpool events look elsewhere.

Good choice of books to read and very friendly group.

It's a great idea, but I don't think it's worth the money. The facilitator has too many people to get around - a variety of questions left on sheets of paper and some conversation starters.
The online events often cost more - and you do not get a copy of the month's book as you are led to believe. Subscription within a subscription.

I'm a bit disappointed we've got the same author within 4 months. I didn't like their writing so I feel a tad cheated that I've got her again. I'm finding it not particularly varied in books choices so I'm looking at alternatives locally.

Having been a member of Chapter 25 since the start of my location’s club I can honestly say it’s one of the best things I’ve done for myself in a very long time. The hosts have been/are marvellous and to be with like minded people to talk about books is wonderful. I have made some genuinely great friendships that I treasure and have read such a variety of books - some I’ve liked, some I’ve loved and some I chose not to finish! Having the opportunity to test such wide genres and styles is really valuable. What a fantastic opportunity for anyone who is interested in books.
The behind the scenes staff have always been super helpful and accommodating, a real bonus to a busy thriving business.

I was a bit nervous about joining a paid book club as I thought the books and discussions would be a bit highbrow. I was hoping to meet new people as I was a bit isolated and lonely after moving up north. However, I couldn’t have been more wrong. The books are an eclectic mix and have challenged me to read new genres and amused me on occasion too. The meet ups themselves are amazing too, amazing because I have met people with a real shared interest and passion for reading. The WhatsApp group also is inspiring as I felt like giving up on one book but was encouraged by those who had finished it to keep going and it turned out to be one of the best books I have read this year. If you are hesitating about joining DON’T!!!!

Complete waste of £40.

It took two months to actually get into the site at this point leaving less than a week to buy and read the book. I’m now seemingly locked out again support is as useful as a chocolate teapot. The subscription has come out for a fourth time meaning I’ve now spent £40 for nothing.

I really enjoy the book club and the opportunity to come together with people and make new friends and be a part of this community. The company are reviewing how we select books as most of the books we have read as a group we haven't necessarily enjoyed.
I would say that there is not much transparency around what the subscription fee goes on. The questions created by the central team are very basic, and I sometimes don't know if they've read the book. The venue is free and I don't know if the host gets paid a good salary or not for her time and efforts.

The best thing I did last year was to join Chapter 25! It’s one of the highlights of my month and I absolutely love it.

From the moment I signed up on the website to being welcomed at my first book club meet up, the whole experience felt incredibly friendly and inviting.
Shortly after signing up, I received welcome emails with all the information I needed to attend my first meet up, it was all so easy and straightforward.
When it came to the first meet-up, I was a little anxious, but as soon as I arrived and was welcomed by the host and I quickly felt relaxed.
The whole atmosphere at Chapter 25 is warm and welcoming. It’s simply a shared love of books among a variety of people, all connected by a genuine passion for reading.

I’m so glad I joined and would absolutely encourage others to do the same - you won’t regret it.

I wish I could rate this higher! This book club has been so amazing, the host is amazing the variety is wonderful and helps me get out of my comfort zone and the community is absolutely fantastic. It was my 1st ever chapter 25 event having just joined the paisley group. The hosts & ladies there were all so welcoming. It's a brilliant idea decorating the books although I did get in a mess with the glue, that's me though. There was a raffle as well for gifts. I've recommended these events to friends as well. So happy I came along thank you so much for having me.

I’ve only been a member of Chapter 25 for a few months, but I absolutely love it. Wish I’d joined earlier. It is such a friendly, kind and encouraging group and lovely to spend time with like minded people.
I attended a “Galantines” Event too which was such a lovely evening. Great value for money, lovely activity (decorating a book), lovely friendly people and an evening well spent.

I was lucky enough to be accepted for chapter 25 in December when I saw an opening for Glasgow group. I find the WhatsApp group very active and helpful and also the events plus the monthly book review gatherings are organised and fun. Have met nice people in these meetings who love reading and sharing their ideas.

Fantastic Galentines last night, another wonderful wholesome event full of laughter!

Misleading email about transferring stamps over to the new digital system.

I got it on 26th January at 11:00, and it says I had 7 days to complete the forms but now it says it's too late. It's misleading and now because you lied in the email, I can't transfer my stamps over. 

I joined the bookclub in June 25, and I'm so glad I did! It is a great bookclub where I have met great book lovers like myself, and can talk all thing books!
I very much look forward to our monthly meet ups and have been able to expand my reading genre so much more.
In addition to monthly meet ups, the bonus chapter events online you can join are fabulous, and I have been able to talk to some great people around the country as well. Love the author Q&As! If you looking for a book club i would highly recommend joining Chapter 25 in an area near you!
