Beware of telephone price offers not being honoured
I sold 4 gold 2018 Olympics coins. Having sent photos of them, I was given a price of £16, 500. Once they had recieved them they offerred me £2,000 less because the presentation box was not in good condition - true but it is was 14 years old. They said that the coin cases had been opened - it certainly did not appear like that to me. I felt like they had me over a barrel.

Thank you for your review. Our initial valuation was based on the photographs sent and on the expectation that the proof coins would arrive in pristine condition. Once received, we noted fingerprinting and clouding on the surfaces, which lowers the value of proof coins. The presentation box was also not in ideal condition, though this did not factor into the revised offer.
Premium prices require premium condition, and these coins unfortunately fell short of that. Fingerprints on proof coins can sometimes be cleaned, but the potential damage already caused is unknown, and the cleaning process requires staff time and care.
This contributed to the reduction in our offer. Before moving forward, we asked whether you were happy to accept the revised price, and you confirmed that you were. If you were not satisfied, you had options: we could have returned the coins for a small postage fee, or you could have taken a couple of days to consider the offer. You chose to accept, and we completed the transaction accordingly. We strive to be transparent in all valuations, and we’re sorry that you felt disappointed with the process.

Chards - inconsistent cancellation charges methodoloy, lying
The explanation provided is inconsistent with the discussions. They did not allow me to use the current market price on Monday but instead insisted and set a line that Fridays is to be used. Although it has been repeatedly stated that pricing was based on the current market rate, the actual application does not reflect this. these discrepancies are clearly evident which is why they are scared to give the call records.
