Voice Mail access via site - down for 7 days, unable to find out when access via site will be available using Spectrum "chat'

In general shabby high level management, exploitation enabled by limited choice.

Mixed - Ranges from less than 1 star to 5 stars.

Site - 2 stars, confusing & poorly organized, inadequate, unable to block calls, jumble of gak

Chat - 2 stars, auto response -1 star, agents 3 stars - total 2 stars

Reliability - 1 stars, phone, ongoing problems with voice over two months with periodic re-sets and 2 service calls. Today, site would not enable blocking calls. Have little confidence as to reliability.

Installation, 3 stars - insisted modem & router to be installed in garage, Dec 2024. Was relocated to inside office 11 Jan 2026.

1st service call 3 stars, failed to check out modem or cable to phone. Jan 10, 2026, voice failed after 2 hours

last or 2nd service call 5 stars- tech arrived on time and performed outstanding service - re-routed connection for router & modem from garage to inside office on exterior wall then into office. Replaced cable & attached new modem to interior wall. Dispatcher advised modem defective or inadequate. Service tech advised cable probems - possible cable connect defect, replaced cable. Voice on and off for 2 months - uncertain about fix, no problems with last tech service. Voice still working 48 hours.

Sub-par service at best!!

My cousin built a new house! so since I was paying the cable anyway since, I went ahead and put it in my name. The tech told me they don’t use cable box’s anymore a lie, told me they only use Xumo digital streaming box’s and told us they only $5 a month to rent no no they are not $5 a month to buy em 4 I got under the impression they were for rent til I got my 1st bill they were $125 each and every single one broke within a year… smh I was stuck because no other company to get cable and internet from once they is I’m leaving spectrum!! Should be able to sue for false advertising and abuse of customers trust and $$!!

Class Action in Court

I’ve been stuck with the monopoly of Spectrum internet and home phone service for 6 years now and every year, without fail, there’s been one inconvenience after another, from slow-to-no service and some of the densest “Customer Support” imaginable.

And every year, a price increase, without any advance notice or tangible justification.

As a matter of fact, every time the price increases, the service level decreases.

Internet/WiFi slows, in spite of claims of improvement. I’m seeing the old “buffer” notice like in the “dial-up” days.

Home phone service is a sometimes service. I’ve missed calls because of no incoming, I have my own answering machine so that I can hear when a message is being left by the caller where with Spectrum, I have to check my e-mail for notification, then log into my account on the sub-par internet service to check for messages.

All will work well with the phone service for a while and then, suddenly, for no apparent reason, Spectrum’s “answering” will cancel my home machine so that there’s NO out-going message letting callers know that there IS an answering device. What they hear is absolutely nothing AND my machine won’t record for some reason.

I’m constantly “re-setting the equipment”, but it’s an effort in futility. Recently I was told that I needed an “up-grade” which would be provided “at no cost”. Spectrum sent me a new modem and router, all was installed, worked well and on the very next bill came an increase. “Service improvements” was the reason I received when I contacted Spectrum directly.

The spectrum.net web-site is, essentially, non-functional in that “settings” for service most often result in notice: “We are unable to up-date records, set preferences, modify service”. “Call block” of annoyance calls is non-functional. Trying to stop Spectrum “voice-mail” is impossible and on a recent “chat” I was told “You’re answering device is competing with Spectrum voice-mail.” It never “competed” before recently. I’ve had the same “device” for 5 years with no trouble. “You have to disconnect your device and change your telephone.” was the “solution” offered by Spectrum “customer service”.

The increases are, on average, 6 dollars monthly, compounded over the course of 6 months to a year, and as I say, no “advance notice”, no reason, no customer consideration. Contacting Spectrum is a complete waste of time because “options” offered are “pay the rate or drop the service” and again, they’re a monopoly in rural areas.

It’s blatant abuse and if not actually so, “borderline theft”. Equally, it’s utter disregard for customers/individuals.

A thorough investigation and audit of the company and practises by local, state and federal authorities is WELL PAST DUE! I’ve scoured the internet for “reviews” on the company and have found the VAST MAJORITY of other Spectrum customers are suffering the same or similar abuses. I’ve spoken with neighbours who are also trapped by the monopoly of Spectrum and have yet to hear a positive comment.

I will be pursuing actions with our local, state and the federal authorities with the hope that Spectrum’s monopoly will be legally ended and reparations issued to customers in view of the absolute disrespect and abuse suffered, for many, over years.

Phone is s ripoff.

Phone is overpriced, when I can get a free i-phone to switch to verizon. It is inefficient, I cannot even answer it when someone calls without navigating through a ton of worthless crap. And their web interface is obviously run by idiots. I am tired of having to change my password because their portal is retarded. My saved info on my computer does not change, why does theirs?

This company is poorly run they lie…

This company is poorly run they lie like hell on the phone make false promises and you spend hours being patched around the world to people that don't have a clue what is going on, going into spectrum there limited to what they can do They have wasted over 5 thousand hours of my time and not until you speak to the 20 or 15 person that tells you that they don't know how to fix the problems, I am going to organize a picket line for Anderson SC soon as I get a permit from the court then I'm going to Sue time lost,pain and aggravation and anything else I can get!!!

Mobile service is not working

I have spectrum mobile and although the price is right the service sucks. It’s even worse than t-mobile. I find myself never having service at home or out and about. I have to stay on WiFi to get calls out. I’m in Ohio so I have no idea why it’s so crappy. I’m at a total loss because a few months ago the service was just spotty now it’s like non-existent. The customer service is just snobby for some reason they never have any solutions. They just keep transferring me to the retention rep who just keeps offering me discounts:(

Tremendous Customer Service

I called to make some changes to my Spectrum business account today. I had the very good fortune of speaking with Samantha and Myesha. Samantha politely and adroitly discovered what I needed, then forwarded me to Myesha, whose cheerful tone did not waiver once as she worked her way through the numerous steps necessary to meet my my request. They were kind, courteous and knowledgeable, exactly what you hope for when dealing with customer service. They are a credit to whoever made the brilliant decision to hire them. My thanks to both of them for their professionalism and their help. Just doing their jobs they brightened my day.

EXCEEDED Expectations Create RESPECT

Although, I have had penultimate people and resources intersect in my experience, there are also certain experiences that I try to avoid because they tend to cause me to reflect and identify with the sentiment expressed by noted author and Harlem Renaissance progenitor Langston Hughes when he wrote : “Well Son, I’ll tell you: Life for me ain’t been no crystal stair.”
Spectrum and I have interacted for many years, in three states. Although I value their service and think that technologically speaking, Spectrum is the undisputed leader in expanding access to the Information Superhighway. Yet I DREAD having to interact with their phone representatives because interacting with them is a kind of ‘Forest Gump’ experience where: “You never know WHAT you’re gonna get.”UNTIL the Universe caused me to cross paths with a Spectrum Call Center representative named BAILEY. I called Spectrum to finalize my decision to switch my cellular service to Spectrum Mobile and I called on Monday night to finish porting my number to Spectrum Mobile. My call was sneered by a young lady who introduced herself as ‘Bailey’. She was pleasant and enthusiastic. She did something from the beginning of the conversation that got my attention. She asked me how my day went, and she stopped talking and LISTENED until I finished speaking, as though she was interested. After telling her what I needed , she told me that she was going to access my account. I was prepared to hear that I was being placed on hold, : “for 1-2 minutes.” but it was instantaneous! In a conversational, yet informative fashion, she reviewed my account and when finished asked me if I would be interested in receiving any discounts, if she could find any, adding that it would take her about a minute to do so. Her enthusiastic query made me feel valued and…liked! It was as if Bailey had become a personal shopper who took great delight in obtaining the best products and services at the best value for dollar. As I was thinking about her delightful manner, she rejoined the call. “Guess what Mr. George?” she inquired with a smile that could be felt over the cableways. “ There is a new promotion that can cut your bill by $30 each month that you qualify for. What do you think about that?” I was impressed by her seeming interest in my savings. I told her that it was great and that I would take her offer. Then she said: “Now Mr.George your discount won’t kick in until you’ve completed the initial ninety days of service, but THEN it will be retroactive.” She paused and asked me if I understood. This was the best customer experience that has ever happened to me in the 25 years that I have been associated with, first, ‘ROAD RUNNER’, TIME-WARNER CABLE, SPECTRUM and now CHARTER Spectrum. Bailey didn’t know that I was not only EXPECTING to pay a high price for Spectrum service. This was due to the decision made by my property management to no longer provide cable and WIFI as a feature for new tenants. The net effect was that with the adjustment in rent from my property management company for Home internet/WI-FI and the delta between Spectrum Mobile and my previous cellular service, I am only spending $25 more each month. Bailey made it feel like I was a winner. When I factor in all the time she saved me and the change in my ‘Spectrum perspective’ she fostered, I think someone over there should etch the words:
LEGENDARY-CUSTOMER-CENTRIC
VALUE FOR DOLLAR on a lovely, satin pillow and present it to Bailey! (And a raise wouldn’t hurt…) Lol!

I have a cell phone and tablet from…

I have a cell phone and tablet from this business and it’s the worst service ever. I have had these people actually lie and lie about my bill. I have had managers say they will call you back and not. This business should not exist. I am telling you if you get mobile service from these folks you will regret it. I personally will advise you to stay far away from these folks and their internet sucks! They will take your money and continue transferring you to different people making a fool of you. I don’t know if they even have management or any kind of real customer service. It used to be a decent place but now I don’t think it’s a legitimate business anymore. They will lie, lord God they will lie and not even care. Word to the wise, if you are crazy enough to do business with them….please,please keep all of your paperwork. You will see!!
