I'd had a problem with my car pulling to the left. The tracking had been done three times and it still wasn't right. I wasn't happy and was phoned up to bring it in again and get this sorted. I think it was Luke I spoke to? Very friendly and assured we'd get this sorted. He agreed that the tracking was still out after taking the car for a run. Gave me the paper work after having the wheel alignment done and all is in the green. I couldn't really ask for more as I've been 100% assured it's fixed and I've seen the proof on the printout. However, the car is still pulling to the left. There's no damage or anything else that could be causing it so I haven't a clue what's wrong with the car? And maybe each time it's been tested it has appeared to be straight....The only thing I can think it may possibly be after googling, is the tyre conicity? I understand this isn't something that would show on the test? 🤔If anyone could get back to me on this I'd be grateful 👍

I have used checkpoint prenton for years for my car and now my daughters cars, they are always super helpful, efficient, trustworthy and great at communicating, I wouldn’t go anywhere else & would 💯 recommend them

I've been using Checkpoint Prenton for nearly 6yrs now. At least 2 maintenance visits per year, MOT and general repairs on my car. They've been the best garage I've ever used. Good, hard working and honest mechanics. Graham is brilliant service advisor and is always very helpful. Any problems with the work carried out has always been promptly rectified and at no cost to me.

Cannot fault Checkpoint they have been amazing. My car broke down and they identified the issue. BMW provided the wrong part. Graham at Checkpoint identified that the BMW parts catalogue states the wrong part information and it to took Checkpoint to tell the manufacturer they had it wrong which they confirmed. The customer service at Checkpoint was up and beyond along with the work they did on my car. Brilliant thank you

As Driving Instructor whenever I have an issue with my car, other than the service with the dealership, Checkpoint Prenton is my go to place.

I know I can trust Graham and his team. They came to me highly recommended and have not let me down.

Recently had all 4 tyres replaced. They dealt with that short notice with quick turnaround.

Few weeks later a pupil kerbed a tyre resulting in cut to tyre wall. Graham, John and team again were able to fit me in short notice and get me back on the road.

I used to have a completely different opinion of Checkpoint Queensferry Deeside Flintshire.Years ago, when the business had a different atmosphere, I had BMWs serviced and repaired there and had no reason to complain. Unfortunately, my recent experience has completely changed my opinion.
I took my BMW to Checkpoint Queensferry for an MOT on 7 September 2026. The car failed with two Major defects:
• a cut in the nearside front tyre allegedly deep enough to reach the ply/cords
• excessive play in the offside front track rod end ball joint
I have no problem accepting the tyre issue and replaced the tyre. The problem was the alleged excessive play in the track rod end.
I was not convinced that this justified a Major MOT failure, so I took the car to another independent MOT station.
Two days later, on 9 September 2026, and only 11 miles later, the same car was tested again. It PASSED its MOT. The track rod end was not failed and was not even listed as an advisory. No track rod end was replaced between the two tests.
So I am left with a very simple question:
How can one MOT station classify the exact same component as a Major defect requiring immediate repair, while another MOT tester examines the same car two days later and passes it without even an advisory for that component?
What concerns me particularly is that Checkpoint also sells tyres, parts and repair services. When an MOT station can both fail a vehicle and then profit from repairing the alleged failures, I believe customers should be entitled to expect an exceptionally high standard of impartiality.I am not claiming that every failure at Checkpoint is unjustified. I am saying that my own experience has seriously damaged my confidence in their MOT testing.
Many motorists do not know enough about cars to challenge an MOT tester. They see “Major defect” on the certificate, hear that the car needs repairs, and understandably pay because they need their vehicle back on the road. With MOT prices already over £50, paying for another test simply to obtain a second opinion is another expense that many people cannot afford.My advice to anyone whose car fails an MOT here, especially if expensive repairs are recommended, is simple: get the failed items independently checked before authorising any work.
I genuinely regret that my previous positive opinion of this business no longer reflects my experience.
For me, trust is everything when dealing with a garage. Unfortunately, after this MOT, I no longer trust Checkpoint Queensferry with my car.

Graham and the team have never let me down. We take 5 family members cars there for MOTs, serving and any repairs.

Excellent garage. Helpful and knowledgeable staff who go the extra mile to help. The garage is super efficient and clean with great facilities for those who want to wait in the garage. The booking process and notification process is excellent. I haven’t wanted to consider going to any other garage since finding this place.

Would score this zero but there isn't one. I took my fiat abarth for an mot I believe in April 2026. I've had it for 2.5 years, it's had 2 services with checkpoint in the time I've had it, it's a 2018 plate with just over 28,000 miles on the clock. So for me it would be a straight forward pass. I believe they saw a single women and decided to take her money. So when I thought £50.00, oh no it's £1200.00 plus and then after that shock then phone me back and tell me oh your brakes need doing shall I add it to the cost, absolutely disgusted. I probs do no more than 5 miles a day. So today my partner took his shit tip van to a reputable garage for an mot. 2017 plate with over 104,000 miles on the clock, never been serviced since he's had. Work the maths out = a lady that has been massively taken the piss out off. Absolutely don't go there as I don't believe that my car warranted as much as they said . Forgot to say my partners van passed it's mot with 1 advisory, speaks volumes about checkpoint

Two months after rear brake pads were replaced on my car, It was taken to Checkpoint Queensferry for an MOT test. I was contacted and told that it had failed, reporting that the brake test failed and that new rear brake disks and pads were required. I explained that the brakes were recently serviced and requested that the test was repeated; this request was refused. The test was said to demonstrate excessive brake imbalance between rear L and R sides with oscillation of one side, there was no printed record of the test provided.

I was skeptical of this report. As an experienced mechanic who has repaired many vehicles after brake test failures. I am also aware that some errors can be made during MOT tests at certain test stations or the results can be misinterpreted.

The car brakes were tested the next day at a different garage without making any changes and using certified equipment.

The test demonstrated that there were no faults with the brakes and they were operating well within the specified ranges. Hopefully the vehicle will pass once some actual faults are corrected....

New to me Škoda Karoq after nearly 30 years of Nissans, oil service advisory came up on the Infotainment screen at 14k. Great service as ever by Graham and the team. Been bringing my cars to Checkpoint Prenton for over 20 years and wouldn't go elsewhere unless there was no choice.

I would just like to say Many thanks to Graham and his Team at Checkpoint Service centre Prenton Wirral, I have just recently moved to the Wirral and this service centre was recommended to me. The clips on the undertray cover on my Nissan Qashqai had come loose and the tray dropped. The service centre ensured the undertray was secure and did not charge me. I will definitely be using this Service Centre for my next service. Once again Many Thanks. Stephen Vaughan.

I just want to say thank you to all at Checkpoint Service Centre, Prenton, Wirral. From the initial phone call to the promt appointment then the quick turn around of the service for my Mazda 3, they have been great. A pleasure to deal with. I will be going back to them from now on.

This is the best garage to get work done on your car they are very helpful and do not rip you off,the bathroom and waiting room are spotless I can not recommend them enough I will not go anywhere else

Staff went above and beyond for me. Been here a fair few times now and always found them helpful, professional and friendly. Amazing again thankyou!

Phoned up for a service, was done the following day. Never had a issue with these lads. Great service also from the lads at the front desk. Would never use another garage for my jobs.

I had an urgent need of vehicle check after a loud grinding noise developed in the morning on the way to work. The staff were very helpful in taking my booking when I arrived and found the issue fairly quickly with my brake calliper which was quickly ordered and fitted the very same day. Very friendly and reassuring for me after a stressful morning.

I brought my car in for a full service, one of the checks found my cambelt to be out of date. the guys got me in the same week and replaced my cambelt. upon discovery it was the original belt and it had never been changed before! 160,000 miles! ticking time bomb. the team were great and so efficient i will be returning for future repairs! well done guys see you again!
