I used Cherished Placentas after having my first baby. Although the overall process was fairly straightforward and the instructions were easy enough to follow, personally, I didn’t notice any significant benefits from taking the placenta capsules.

I had hoped they would make a noticeable difference to my energy levels, postnatal recovery and overall wellbeing, but unfortunately, I didn’t experience the changes I was expecting. As a result, I found the experience somewhat disappointing compared with what I had hoped for.

The process of sending the placenta was simple enough, but overall, I’m not convinced that the service provided any particular benefit for me. I’m therefore unsure whether I would choose to use the service again in the future.

Nikki was really easy to communicate with and the service was seamless from beginning to end. I’ve felt very well postnatally. Thank you for a great experience!

I had such a beautiful experience with Cherished Placentas after the birth of my first baby. Nikki was absolutely amazing from start to finish. So knowledgeable, kind, and supportive during such a special (and sometimes overwhelming!) time.

My placenta was collected from London and I opted for the Placenta Pills. I had such a pleasant experience using their service. The process was thoroughly explained from the start and any questions I had were answered in a timely manner.

I would highly recommend giving the placenta pills a try. I was having my third baby and I found the pills helped bring in my breastmilk earlier and my milk had a heavy consistency. What I loved most was that I felt I skipped the ‘postpartum blues’ phase. I had a lot more energy and felt a lot more normal hormonally - Even after the pills had finished.

The Placenta Pills are nicely packaged and I received a heart shaped piece of the umbilical cord. A beautiful touch!

If you’re thinking about it, just go ahead. The post partum journey is a rough road, however the Placenta Pills made it that little bit easier. Thank you!

This is the second time I have used Nikki’s amazing service from cherished placentas, to have my placenta turned into placenta pills.
I can’t not recommend this company enough, Nikki keeps you well informed throughout the whole process. All the information and instructions on how to preserve your placenta ready for collection is incredible and helped my partner and midwife organise with ease! I am Suffolk based and the collection was so simple and efficient!
The placenta pills arrived very quickly and have been an amazing addition to my postpartum recovery, I feel fantastic and did the first time round too! I am so pleased cherished placentas is still around as the first time I used them was 4 years ago, I love the fact it is a small independent company and you can see and tell how passionate Nikki is about her business and your journey with her! If youre hesitant, dont be. Honestly one if the best things ive ever done. N&N hospital had already heard of cherished placenta and i had lots of support from the hospital. I was so worried it would be complicated thag it would be another thing to worry about. However the whole process was easy and so efficient. I received the pills within days and even an extra little gift was included. A very kind gesture that's now in our memory box.
As for how I feel since taking them. Well i am now 5 months into recovery and come to the end of my tablets. They have helped massively with the hormonal shifts and with my milk supply. I highly recommend.

Amazing service

After giving birth, I opted for the full package with Cherished Placentas and I genuinely cannot recommend it enough. The package included balms, oils, creams, a tincture and daily capsules, everything beautifully presented and easy to use throughout my postpartum recovery. (And a little umbilical cord keepsake which was a bit strange to see but beautiful!)

The logistics were so straightforward. A prepaid courier box came straight to my home in Edinburgh with ice packs and clear instructions, which made everything stress-free from the start. The midwives at the hospital were brilliant at storing the ice packs while we were there, and the pickup was arranged easily from our home address once we were back, so worth knowing if you're planning ahead.

I want to be honest, postpartum hormones are still all over the place regardless. The night sweats, the dry skin, all the things nobody really warns you about! But where I genuinely noticed a difference was in my mood and emotional resilience. The placenta capsules taken daily made the biggest impact for me. I really do believe they helped keep the darker edges of those hormone fluctuations at bay and contributed to me feeling so much better in myself than I expected to postpartum.
The whole experience from booking to delivery was seamless. I recently used Cherished Placentas for my first born and am so happy I did. The experience was seamless - messaging Nikki who made things super clear, it was no trouble at all during the birth and the capsules arrived at 3 days pp. I have had a really smooth recovery and have felt amazing - my energy levels, section recovery, milk production, hair and skin and I’m convinced this is why. Had an absolutely wonderful experience with Cherished Placentas for encapsulating my placenta into placenta pills. I was unsure whether or not to do this, but after reading Cherished Placentas website information, I was convinced then and I’m so glad I did. I had quite a traumatic birth but I really feel that taking my placenta afterwards, in the form of pills, had made my recovery so fast and successful. I really liked the natural, wild instincts of having my placenta in the form of pills after the birth. The experience with Cherished Placentas was top notch. Delivery of the box pre-birth and then the pills afterwards was so speedy. I contacted the company very close to my due date so I thought I might be too late but Nikki was so accommodating and sent out my pack right away. The instructions were so easy to follow and the process is so thorough. And as I mentioned, after my husband sent off the placenta post-birth, the pills were then sent back within a matter of days and my recovery began! Can’t recommend Cherished Placentas enough. Would definitely use them again if I have another baby.

I have used Cherished Placentas twice now and both times I have found the service to be incredible. Communication is fantastic with lots of support with the process. Drop-off of the placenta was made very easy and delivery of the placenta capsules was very speedy. Midwives at the hospital were very impressed with the whole set up! I have found the placenta capsules to be invaluable to my postpartum journey.

I contacted Nikki late on in my second pregnancy after being let down by another company. Nikki was amazing, nothing was a hassle, despite the fact I was close to my due date. The full process was so easy and I loved the fact my partner was fully included so he knew what to do on the big day which meant I had nothing to worry about except for new baby snuggles! My order arrived really quickly and I was so pleased with the results. I wouldn't hesitate to use this service again with my next baby!

1000% recommend Cherished Placentas. I wish I knew about them for my first pregnancy. Taking the placenta smoothies and placenta capsules helped with my C section recovery and helped establish my breast milk at 2 days PP, when previously it had taken 4/5 days. I had previously suffered with postpartrum depression, however this time my mood was stable and I had so much more energy. Delivery and preparation of the cool box was fast and clearly explained. Throughout my pregnancy I knew I wanted to make my placenta into capsules as I have heard of the amazing benefits that it has- supporting post partum recovery and milk supply as well as balancing your hormones. But life got in the way of me actively booking anything. I decided around 36 weeks pregnant that this was something I definitely wanted to do. After researching the process and various companies. I found cherished placentas. I contacted cherished placentas to see if this would be a possibility since I had left it so late. And thankfully it was! The process was very easy and I was sent all the forms and information needed, and my cooler and freezer blocks arrived within a few days ready for the birth.
Unfortunately I had a traumatic birth resulting in an emergency c section. However this did not affect my ability to have my placenta made into placenta pills. Contact was through WhatsApp and my partner was able to inform and keep in contact with cherished placentas and seek guidance about how to store the placenta in the mean time.
It was very easy to send through the post office and I received my placenta pills a few days later. I genuinely believe they helped boost my milk supply, and helped me manage my emotions through the first few weeks. I got around 160 plants pills and these lasted me around 7 weeks. I am truly grateful and appreciate of this service and would highly recommend.
As part of the package I also got the umbilical cord made into a keepsake, and we use the oil daily for baby massage.
Anyone who is pregnant and considering placenta encapsulation should definitely use cherished placentas. Overall very easy and informative, and the plants pills really helped me in my post partum recovery.

Amazing company!
We went all in and ordered the largest bundle with all the extras, balms, smoothies & capsules. I truly believe these all had a massive impact on my postpartum experience. I never noticed a big hormone drop, had plenty of energy & a great milk supply. We had our placenta package delivered straight back to us the next day!
