The main "bad" thing that comes to mind is how highly inconvenient the location of the hotels was. The guides were VERY attentive and everything else flowed smoothly.

We had an amazing trip. everyone in my party had a fabulous time. the both of the tour guides we had were amazing. What a beautiful country.

China Tour delivers a great value for your dollar. I have traveled with them twice now. This trip we had a hiccup with the lodging in Phuket, Thailand. However, the China Tour agent in Thailand quickly remedied the situation and we had a fabulous trip. I wouldn’t hesitate to travel with them again.

The tour itself is wonderful - one male tour guide leaves a lot to be desired “Tom” is rough around the edges and needs to receive an introduction to customer service.

Our contact with your company, Jim Li had terrible customer service skills. I emailed some simple questions and got short replies, one of which did not answer my original question. Not only did we get the info of other travelers along with our own, but we were with them the entire time. We did not fly across the globe to travel so intimate with complete strangers. The only upside was that they turned out to be very nice folks.
We got screwed on our time at Phuket - wrong hotel, no reservations, wrong area, an airport hotel...lost an entire day so we only had ONE DAY on the islands after the incredible debacle.
I would never recommend your company.

good trip for the price and get to see a lot! Very tiring at times because you have to wake up early each day. they do not provide transportation if you opt out of the optional tours, which is annoying. A lot of the sate sponsored trips are very unreasonably priced.

Great price, but chinatour.com kept lower the overall rating of the hotels we were to stay at. This occurred up to a few days before the day of the trip. The initial offering showed all hotels were at least 4-star rating. Two of the hotels ended up being only 3-stars, but chinatour.com kept telling us otherwise, which created a situation where chinatour.com started treating some of our fellow travelers with hostility when they brought it up. When we got there, both of the 3-star hotels were 3-star at best (one was not very clean and needed a lot of maintenance), regardless of what the hotel and chinatour.com kept telling us.

Great selection of trips including the ones at an additional cost. If you go on one of the tours, you should make sure to go on the additonal trips that cost more money. The garden tour was a waste of time since it was extremely crowed. While some of the shopping was fun, some of the "factory stores" were not very friendly and seemed to be quite dishonest (several of us thought some were scammers). One of the tour guides did not speak very good English, which distracted from what she was telling us. One of the lunch places was extremely filthy with terrible food (just one bad one out of all of them means the food was really pretty good overall).

The price we got was very good and everybody had an extremely wonderful time. Due to the conflict caused by chinatour.com, I doubt if they will book anymore travel with our group, but most of us would use them again if the opportunity presented itself… providing that chinatour.com would be willing to work out the disputed issues instead of causing them to escalate.

Xian was amazing. Our guide was informative and accommodating. Could not have asked for better.
Beijing was a disaster. Disorganised. Our guide was average. No time to spend enjoying any of the experiences offered.
Shanghai was almost a waste of time

I know the shipping spots you visit are a way to keep prices down for the trip, but you should tell visitors there will be other places to buy. Also, would have like to have seen more of the countryside and not just the city.

I would say that it wasn’t all good. Service on all flights was very good. But we were promised direct flights from New York and Shanghai. Ok, from New York we had at least one transfer. But flight trip from Shanghai was worst you can imagine. Instead of 14 hours we spent 24 hours to get back home with 2 transfers. We spoke with other people in our big ( 50 people ) group. Most of them had direct flights. Only tourists who got there trips arranged by same travel agent ( Jennie) had very long with a lot transfers flights. All hotels were good , clean during the trip. No complaints on service. It would be nice if we see more of Beijing and Shanghai themselves. But we weren’t happy with our guide in Benjing. He told us very little about city even when we were driving over the city. Good we knew Benjing’s history. When we asked him to help with tickets to special show which we wouldn’t be able to see at home he refused even without trying. We were pushed to pay gratitudes on day 2. It was not nice. Another problem was when our hotel in Shanshow -nice city was exchanged to one in nowhere. It was raining almost all day so we couldn’t go to yellow mountains or another trip. We had spent all day in hotel. No transportation were arranged for people who didn’t want to go to offered trips because of weather. There we had problem even with dinner because no one spoke English. Menu had no pictures. We waited for long time for second restaurant to open. We couldn’t go anywhere for any entertainment in the evening. So for that day I would put even one star. I need to say thank to all guides we got in Shanghai and during the travel time after Beijing. They were very professional, helpful. Thank you very must ch any way. It was nice trip and I would go there again to see what we couldn’t see last time.

Having a joint visa instead of an individual one was a hassle. Need one per individual. Need to inform people of how much walking is involved before they sign up for tour; ie, Forbidden City. Tour Guides, Chris and Iris were EXCELLENT. ROSEMARY

Great experience. They delivered much more than expected given the very affordable price of the tour. I highly recommend them.

My son and I had a wonderful time on our China Tour trip. The sights were beautiful and we especially enjoyed Shanghai and the Yellow Mountain tour. We would go back just for that part of the tour again! The tour guides were knowledgeable. I only part we didn't enjoy was that the shopping was geared towards state run businesses such as the pearl factory, silk factory, etc. The prices were more on the lines of US prices so that was very disappointing. The Bund in Shanghai was beautiful night and day and the buildings were striking. Beautiful city. Overall, we loved the trip and thoroughly enjoyed the other tourists on our trip. Well worth the time and money.

This tour provided very little free time. Moving daily only able to see or visit places prearranged by tour. Propaganda daily straight out of a handbook Highlight great Wall, Shanghai, Maglev train and China town.
