Not what the website said would happen.....
I found this service through Google and it looked really helpful. I filled in the form which asked for approx Pension value and Date of Birth as well as contact details. The website states that it would search pension annuity providers (for free) with no obligation. This is not what happened. I got an email saying they had signed me up with an Independent Pension Advisor who would contact me with details. This is not what I expected to happen and I would rather choose my expert independently rather than arbitrarily assigning me to one. I am just starting to consider my pension options and all i want at moment is reading material.

Very rushed communication, as if he was paid by the word. Repetitive "No problem!" gets on one's nerves: "What's your name?" "Smith", "No problem!" I cannot understand why my name might be a problem.

I spoke with these people and they assisted me with setting up an Annuity with Aviva through My Pension Expert.It was well explained and they handled the process from initial inquiry to finalising the first months pension payment. For someone very little idea of financial planning I found them extremely helpful.I would recommend them to anyone in a similar position as myself.

A very pleasant telephone conversation with Mrs Victoria Scott, who asked all the relevant questions in a polite and courteous manner.
I was extremely pleased to hear that she gave the telephone number correctly – saying ‘zero’ for the number ‘nought’ instead of the letter ‘O’, which is not a number, and therefore has no relevance to a telephone number!!

Called immediately and said they (as not worth while?) don't deal with smaller policies as annuity. Which they do not say on website. Suggested I should take it all at once at only 20% tax, clearly not necessarily correct as they did notnp not know or enquiring about other income. Although asked for.other pensions schemes existance , presumably to make it more worth their while?
Interestingly e mail suggested unlocking pension rather than annuity comparison which was on the compare annuities site and reason for enquiry. Slightly dubious and not quite treating customer fairly let FCA (or TEA rules )
